Holodeck and tribble 2/3 times whenever I log in they decide to start patching again. Is this because of some logical reason or am I just burning loads of internet patching what I already patched?

The first patch didn't patch, second the same and the third will most likely offer the same. Think something is horrible wrong with the patching, since you're far from being the only one with these type of issues.
Turn off on-demand patching and try the download again, so far it's working for me; 67% atm.
In the last few days iv patched about about 6gigs and every time it freezes, but sense im loosing gigs maybe its working but at the same time its freezing. Iv been reading alot about this problem and have tried only one option witch is disable on demand patching, and once again im patching and for the first time it completed without freezing:D, another 4gigs gone:mad: But if no one has tried to disable on demand patching, give it a try, it worked for me. Im just not sure should i uncheck on demand patching?

I send a tweet to sto today and it's normal its just checking that the files are up to date and ready for Tuesday
So calm down people it's all good
So are you saying i should stop patching until the launch of LOR, and i will never get my 10gigs back, thanx Cryptic, i think all of this could have been done easier.

That's all well and good, but what about the 15 Gigs it has already downloaded to my system?????
Sure! thats fine and dandy, if it wasnt for the fact that it insists on DOWNLOADING each time! not just checking, i can see my network packets climbing through the bloddy roof when the launcher is running. Were talking 1-4mill packets per 1-2 seconds! So, no, its not just checking the files. Bunch of bull****!

your not losing the disk space this is patching and adding some files to the main directory your not really losing space if it fails unless the space is now hidden which is unlikely to happen from the patching when it goes to overright it will overright the spaces being said as used , you really need to post some pictures of disk space being lost rather then saying its been lost so if that is the case they can attempt to fix the issue im so tired of all our it pros out there thinking its as simple as pushing a button its designed to work on a wide amount of systems its not been said yea it works 100% on any system ever made thats the sad fact about how pcs are it will never be so stop harassing game makers over something that is atm impossible to be done they may actually regain the want to make you something ik if you harassed me i wouldnt make a thing id quit making games and work other things
im having the same issue since one of the last patches .every time i log on the client patches every time.. and on top of that when i exit the game there is a patch for the loader that errors out before finishing. its happened daily since friday when i came back from vacation and patched my client.
Well done Cryptic/PW... well done gents! I am now very amused. Adding my last half hour's highlights in to the pot for your benefit, formatted in point form:
* Patched, logged-in to character selection and... client crashes.
* The 'client crash report' crashes... oh sweet irony.
* Decline verify client game data. Regardless, 4GB of data requires re-downloading.
* Forcing file verification does not work.
* Symbolically linking the game folder to my SSD fails to finish.
* Undo the previous step and restart the PC. Game client now wants to download 14GB?!
* Steam's verify game data wishes to download 4GB of files.
* Uninstall STO.
* Raise my virtual middle finger at all those responsible.

f2p TRIBBLE really..
i tried that already
EDIT: I would like to note that this 'patch' has eaten up about 4 gigabytes already.
