I see bandwidth and/or system resources are being used to download or run the game via Pando, I get weird error messages after download, what is going on?
This advice is helpful if you used our direct downloader that is using the Pando Media Booster.
Many games use Pando Media Booster to download and install themselves. It is peer to peer software that shares the game with other players.
If you do not want to be sharing the game files with other people from your computer, you can disable it in Windows Task Manager by ending the Task (PMB.exe is the process), or fully uninstall the program from Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs after you have fully installed the game.
If you have some problems downloading with Pando, here are some things that can help:
1) Add PMB.exe to the exceptions list in your antivirus or firewall software.
2) You can use the built in test connection feature, on its Control panel click on Advanced Connection Settings > Test my Connection
3) You can try adding the game folder/files to your exceptions list in your antivirus and firewall software. Please see the help menu or support website for the software that you use if you aren't sure how to do it.
At your own risk, you may have to disable your antivirus, firewall, and other security software temporarily while you download, install, update, login to, and play the game. Sometimes the security software will block it or throttle it, no matter what you try or even if you try to add exceptions for the game files in your security software.
4) If you are using any type of Download Helper/Accelerator type of programs (and/or torrent programs), you may have to shut those down while trying to download with Pando. You might also need to shut down Bitlocker and similar programs.
5) Once installation has completed, you might need to temporarily End Task in Windows Task Manager, Pando's
PMB.exe program. You would do this is you get weird errors, some of which can be "Error Code 5", or "File in use"

On topic: I'd like to add that if you're connecting from a school/university network, Pando may be unable to connect due to the fact that many universities block access to P2P programs, including Pando Media Booster.
For Windows XP Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, Double Click it in the list and it should give an uninstallation option.
This really is bad advice to be giving people, its not up to people to disable anything YOUR program should be compatible. There were no issues downloading the client files from cryptic in the past so why (as i mention in my post above) do we need this spyware media booster ?
Please start a new thread, include the information from the tests in this sticky:

and give specifics as to what us happening. Please remember that only you can see what's happening. Walk us through what's occurring.
After making my registration (my email confirmation didnt arrived), and proceeding with the download (13GB for a online game ), when finished i get error 36 (OK - i just have to run as administrator), but when i tried to run it again - starts to download the same 13GB.
Unfortantly my patience as a limit, Im quiting when I even didnt log in one time!

Its laughable - couldnt even make my own post.

I don't want my account to be banned or censored so I'll just say this.
Please use the torrent option. You will save yourself a million times less technical issues, headaches, and hassles. uTorrent is a great no-install tiny torrent client.
Torrenting is 100% legal as long as it is something that is able to be freely distributed. So if you use the torrent file provided on the download page and help torrent the file you are NOT breaking any laws, ever!
I have to say this because the way the US media portrays torrenting as something evil or illegal is complete BS. Linux users in particular use torrents to distribute ISOs (CD Images) of their various flavors of the operating system they use. Many (good) F2P games have torrenting as an option.
In another NcSoft debacle, they force PMB onto their users and neglect to even include a torrenting option. Their 'A' game is pretty good (if you don't mind the broken and unfair PvP where numbers > gear > luck > RNG > skill) but the forced PMB is a dealbreaker for many people and they lost a lot of interest after the F2P launch because of it. They haven't recovered from that and have been forced to cater to the non-English market to make ends meet.
TECHIE STUFF:
PMB has major technical and privacy issues that have already been analyzed by a fantastic friend of mine from the 'A' game whose name I can't type out here for w/e reason.
These include:
-a spyware-ish addon stealth-installed into your browser (mostly IE but also some other browsers)
-throttling upload which means it sucks up as much upload bandwidth as it can which means it slows down nearly EVERYTHING you do on your computer.
-excessive data writes to your hard drive which wears it out faster (though this happens if you overdo it on downloading/uploading/using a hard drive anyways)
-downloading data for transfer to others for GAMES YOU DO NOT EVEN PLAY (confirmed by my friend that data for other random PMB-enabled games like LotRO and LoL were being downloaded/distributed w/o his knowledge or consent)
-PMB uses 'torrenting' technology but it doesn't have a visible UI and the control panel sometimes has to be run in admin mode in Win7 for the changes to 'stick'.
-PMB torrents may be 'tainted' by bad data. Without a visible UI (like any other torrent client) you can't monitor or discard 'bad data' and several of the PMB torrents have been analyzed by techie people to determine that malicious people have been altering and messing with the files already. This poses serious security and stability implications.
-Just use regular torrents, please! Help yourself and help other fellow gamers! Torrents are SAFE and most decent clients like uTorrent automatically monitor and discard 'bad' data or data that doesn't match the right checksum. In other words, the data you get will be good. There ARE ways around it that are inherant flaws in the torrent system itself but for most purposes that can be fixed with the launcher which verifies the files and replaces bad ones.

If you do any gaming on any OS after WinXP and don't know that you have to use 'Run as Administrator' whenever you install any program or game or run a game launcher, that is your fault.
What a shame, we could've used another ally to join us.

5:20 AM...... downloaded the Torrent, download was fast, easy and PAIN FREE!!!! now if i can get it to run ill be even happier, lol.
I'm new here, and pondering to plunge myself into my greatest sci-fi of all time.
Just need some confirmation/answers on some questions, as I have a limited bandwidth/quota line....
I see the game client download is around 4GB, does it include all patches up to now? or do I have to to run countless patches(more more bandwidth) to bring it up to date? and if so, anybody have any size figures?
Why the hell would anyone with even half a brain sticky a thread recommending spyware programs to phantom boost downloads?
Do it properly like us europeans, tweak your registry and optimize your networks card and remove throtting built in your OS. Speedguide threw most of those optimization down in a simple program even.
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php
That is the only program in existance that actually can boost TCP downloads and torrent connectivity by optimizing networks cards and removing OS throttling afaik. You change your local settings with it once and then its done till you reinstall windows or whatnot.
And the instructions to run it? Download, run, drag the slider closest to your internet connections speed or just 100Mbit/s, tick in optimal settings in the general settings and and advanced settings tabs, apply changes and reboot as registry key changes dont apply till you reboot..
