Well I'm glad I already played the new Klingon tutorial and starter missions on Tribble, because SPOILERS EVERYWHERE! That said, kudos to the whole team on the new missions because they are awesome! When you first released LoR on Tribble, as I play tested the Romulan missions I felt for sure that the Romulans were going to take the honor of having the highest quality missions in the game, but no, the KDF takes their game up to the next level. Both the Romulan and Klingon starter missions put the first half dozen Federation missions to shame.
Also KDF players finally get access to a variation of the Fed Oberth console. And the Shield Destabilizer console combined with the Leach console sounds like it's going to become the must have combo for all KDF and KDF-allied Romulans.
The whole beginning stage on the BoP and how you gain your first ship. Epic! gonna have to reroll my lower level sci officer to soak in all this new awesomeness!
this is what i did on the tribble weekend, play the new kdf stuff. its by far the best improvement to existing content they have done, and the new tutorial is extreamly good, very klingon imersive.
to bad the blog spoils it all! all the connections with k'mtar, drake and the federation owing his father a favor, and how alexander was shaped by meeting his future self. then assuming that role when he got older, not even aware that he was always k'mtar all along.
great story telling, and fun enough to not be overshadows by the romulan content.
how about some new kdf fleet ships for LoR launch?! so many unused raptors and bops, with 1 more cruiser thats once again usable. with c store costumes people would buy if they could use that ship at end game
I've played the kdf content through level 31 and it's a lot of fun. The way the tutorial opens up with us as second officer with the first officer's failed attempt to challenge the captain was truly klingon. As new first officer, it is up to us to speak for the crew and pick up their mantle. To that end, we challenge the captain and win. Qapla'! It doesn't get much better than that.
i have to admit that the cut scene when we take command was a bit odd and clunky, (fighting the captain with a disruptor, and then walking casually up to him to route him with a dk'tagh) but when i played through it, the kdf content had just hit tribble, and wasn't anywhere near final. I hope it is much smoother when it hits holodeck.
Even so, I'm excited and thoroughly pleased with the way it turned out. Good work!
I played the missions on Tribble as well. I loved them and wish all of my current KDF captains could redo the tutorial.
Oh unless there is another Matt Miller in the gaming world, I believe he was Positron in City of Heroes. If I am correct, then I want to wish him welcome to STO (and to thank him for splitting is Task Force up into 2 missions)

without giving away any spoilers I want to say that I was EXTREMELY pleased with the new KDF content. If I didn't already have 6 KDF toons I would probably make one JUST to experience the content. Hell I'll probably take my current KDF toons through some of the missions just for fun anyway.
I know I have been pretty much mum on the KDF changes in LoR. I apologise for that and a big thumbs up from me. This was long overdue, thanks for finally doing it.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Me, I took a bat'leth, assuming my enemy would honor me by doing the same. Instead, he got killed without ever firing a shot from that pathetic disruptor of his, the foolish Hom.
ben law' batlhmey!
Edit: *sighs* Of course Bing would translate "For glory!" into something that translates back into "many years ago, this honor!"...
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
So, I have played quite a bit on tribble but would like to know:
1) existing KDF will not be able to do the tutorial?
2) The mission right after the tutorial is doable though?
3) How many missions do the KDF get (not including Nimbus?)
Good job on what I have seen on tribble though. Better tutorial than the rest of the factions in my opinion
Just want to say welcome aboard/back (depending on how it's looked at and by whom) to you Matt. Knowing what your capable of leaves me even more excited about playing threw the new content in LoR.
Great stuff! So happy about this expansion. Now all we need is some new endgame PVE instead of Borg STF farm, and we will be sorted.
You've obviously forgotten about the greatest end-game content to have hit an MMO anywhere...
Epohh collecting...
sarcasm off :P
along with all the mark farming for fleet / reputation stuff... It's not all about the Borg anymore, just when you're done farming a rep it's back to STF central... :P And this season's reputation will be Nukara with Anti-tholian stuff...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Why are people complaining about spoilers? You had to know those were there.
Except you could write a blog saying most of the stuff, art repasses, sources of inspiration, 'you get to visit Rura Penthe,' new ships etc, without the giveaways about the characters. Its the little details like that which makes a story arc at all worthwhile, and otherwise its just 'go here, kill x, collect y' over and over and over. You end up missing out the surprise-coolness of 'I just got a Klingon Promotion. Niiiiiiiice.' Or "not only am I gonna kick all your butts, but I've got WORF watching my back this time. Bring it!" Those little treats are never going to be as good the second time.
I'd have been incredibly upset to find all this out if I hadn't already played through the first 20 or so levels on Tribble. I'd have played more, but I really want to take a KDF character all the way on Holo, so I didn't want to spoil anything else. It's been a struggle not to log back on and keep going though.
Congratulations on bringing us deeper into the Klingon experience while playing KDF content.
In case you can't tell, that was sarcasm.
One of the two major issues that keeps me from enjoying KDF content is the fact that no matter what species you play or the concept you have for your KDF Captain is that the game is scripted to be Klingon specific.
So, if you're another species from far away, an Orion or whatever, you're still a Klingon and your crew is still Klingon (even when they are not).
And considering this first mission is just more of the Klingon mindset, all it achieves is to push me further away from the KDF, not bring me closer to it.
Bees like honey, they don't like vinegar.
Everytime someone makes a character that is an copy of an existing superhuman, Creativity is sad
Yes, that?s right; we can now take steps to ensure that your First Officer doesn?t pull your ship out of cloak just to tell you that nothing can be found on the scanners. It?s a slow and involved process to make all the Klingon missions ?cloak friendly,? so give us some time. It?s one aspect of the game we will continue to improve upon in the future
Hmmm.... fixing that which is not broken (working as intended).
Promises, promises.
...And no combat Targ, just a white dog with bad teeth. (sarcasm conditioned into me by playing STO for so long)

So? All Fed content is species agnostic too - as is all Rom content.
There's not exactly a lot of MMOs out there which take character species into consideration. I can play a twi'lek in SWTOR and get a 5 minute history lesson on twi'lek from my Companion - who's also a twi'lek.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

A more entertaining example is the smuggler mission where you can play a Chiss, and then say something along the lines of "I know I don't look like a Chiss. My parents were surprised, too." while pretending to be a member of the CEDF. :P

Now for my usual refrain: specific stats and/or details on the consoles please?

Grammar error:
They can be used as scouts, raiders or patrol ships. While they?re vulnerable when cloaked, their speed and vulnerability make them hard to hit.
I'm guessing this is meant to be maneuverability...

Which, to be fair, seems to be a common line of thought amongst Klingon ship designers.
