Hey, thanks for swapping those two star systems to their proper sides of the neutral zone...
(The Rator and Chulan systems have swapped locations.)

That has annoyed the hell outta me since I first saw it.

Thank you so much, been over two years I noted and reported this discrepancy on the chart!:D

For giggles, i dug out my old 'archived' post http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=211740&highlight=rator
    • The Jackal Mastiff combat pet obtained in the mission Manhunt will now level as the player does.

I am sure a lot of Klingon player will appreciate that change, a nice little addition to KDF... thanks!

    Photonic Fleet has been rebuilt!
Romulan Captains will now create Photonic Warbirds when using this ability.
Altered which ships can be summoned at each rank, and the odds of each appearing:
    Rank I = 3 Frigates w/ 10% chance of each upgrading to a Cruiser.
Rank II = 3 Cruisers w/ 10% of each upgrading to a Battleship.
Rank III = 1 Battleship and 2 Cruisers w/ 50% of each upgrading to a Battleship.
Ships summoned by Photonic Fleet will now always have the correct abilities and weaponry, will not drop loot, and will expire and appear using the correct photonic FX.
All Photonic Ships are now smarter about acquiring new targets during combat.
If there are no targets nearby, Photonic Ships will now attempt to follow their owner until a new target can be acquired.
Photonic Fleet now has a maximum duration of 60 seconds, and will no longer expire if combat ends.
Photonic Ships now generate drastically more threat than they previously did, and have higher Defense values.
    Photonic Capacitor
Updated the description to repair some inconsistent data:
This trait can be triggered by any Science ability, not only shield heals.
This trait can only be triggered once every 10 seconds, and will only apply if Photonic Fleet is currently on cooldown.
    Increased recharge reduction.
Every Science ability now reduces the cooldown of Photonic Fleet by 20 seconds.
If a Science Captain uses abilities perfectly, this can reduce Photonic Fleet's cooldown from 240sec to 80sec, increasing the uptime of Photonic Fleet from 25% to 75%.

EFF YEAH!!!!! you made my sci toons REALLY happy :D

yay science :D....now make the GW and TR do exotic damage instead of kinetic lol

my sci toon i plan on making is going to have fun in the T'Varo retrofit thats for sure

5 stacks of Sensor Scan III means that a single photonic ship that normally hits for 100 dps per beam or cannon will suddenly hit for like 5000 dmg (per beam or cannon)

    Please keep that in mind!

Anyway, the issue is here is that its become more 'spammable' which is why anything science becomes nerfed sooner or later! That's my concern zeuxidemus001, but more importantly they haven't really improved engineers much at all....they are still as selfish healers as ever with not any real benefits or contributions to team members in 5v5.

ergo, they have become a museum :(

Due to the obvious lack of knowledge about science mechanics so I am going to educate you. If 5 people use Sensor scan or any combination of science debuffs like it all you have to do is hit science team and it will strip those debuffs of you so your point is null and void on science officers. That scenario isn't very much used because most ppl in pvp know how to counter it.

Engineers however the only thing they have to worry about is being subnuc'd. However there are many setups out there and even on forums to do for self defense and healing others for eng's out there so that point is null and void too.

    All ships.

    Fed/KDF can x/15 now.

This opens up even more options for them as they're playing with Warp Cores and just power settings in general.

100/50/25/25 can be 100/70/15/15 or 100/50/35/15, etc, etc, etc.

That "efficiency" bonus the Roms had over the Feds because of the x/15 vs. x/25 that reduced the potential effect of the 40 base vs. 50 base is gone.

Might seem minor, but when you add in the various [X->Y] Warp Cores, ability to 130 cap a subsystem, and all the rest... well, I'm in less of a mood to defend the power levels than I was yesterday when I went through all that stuff in the thread.

What does engineer get out of all this?

So you made science more appealing and Tacs still triumph as the leading class in this game!

I think you just marginalized Engineers ...PERMANENTLY.

No one will pick engineers now.... they are officially a museum.

Also .... you just made science more 'spammable' .... five science players in a team against 5v5 means they can spam a minimum of 15 photonic ships which is comparable to going up against Mirror event mission against mirror fed ships by youself. That alone with sensor scan III stacked from 5 science players means that 15 photonic ships will suddenly hit like a brick against the opposing team. Although in hinsight this trait is now effective, but you have continued down the path of making science even more spammable when in fact you nerfed most science powers because they were spammable in the first place!

Ever heard of the saying : "History repeats itself..."

    need I say more?

ummm wow..where do i start on this post....you obviously just pvp, but sci powers in pve have been killed for a long time...about time they did something to fix them...although this is the wrong approach. i have no idea how Cryptic needs to fix Sci or Eng...but this is the wrong way altogether..and yes..i don't pvp in this game..it's just to broken and can never be fixed with their game engine...so just plain..sigh

I see you have finally adressed the weapon hardpoints issue of the D'Deridex. However ... as I somehow already expected ... instead of putting forward weapons on the 'beak' of the ship you transfered dual heavy cannons to the nacelles. The devs obsession to put weapon hardpoints on warp nacelles will never cease to amaze me. I noticed this on a lot of ships and you keep ignoring all feedback on this issue.

WHY do you keep doing this nonsense? Have you ever seen a ship on the shows firing from its nacelles? Have you even watched the shows?

Well, no D'Deridex for me then. I will roll another Tac an get him a Mogai.

yes, I can easily fly my fleet HEC with 125 power to weapons and 130 power to shield along with 4 DHC, elite scorpions,.. scary stuff.

I wanted to change my main to romulan char because I like the "firefly" things they have going, but not so sure now, warbirds are really weak now.

And my Fed still can't modify his expensive Romulan Embassy BOffs in the tailor. Nor can he FIX the faceless, torsoless one that was damaged via trading to train.

When is that going to get fixed?

So... When is the art department going to ever get around to fixing the combadge clipping issue when well endowed women wear the Next Generation combadges?!
Indeed, the combadge needs to tilt with the angle of the chest. It should lay on top of, instead of stick in to.

It looks like someone stabbed some of my officers with the Starfleet emblem.

The D'Deridex should only have weapons on the nose and on the wings. Impulse engines and shuttlebay on the tail, etc.

Ah well. THANK YOU for restoring character copying to Tribble.

    [/LIST]

An interesting change but there is one problem still:

The Photonic Capacitor trait only helps photonic fleet. A trait just for one ability...one ability that has NO OTHER means of boosting itself (there is no console, no doff, no power setting, no stat that improves photonic fleet) is ... a waste of a trait slot. Why would I choose this over a much more beneficial trait that helps me 100% of the time and boost numerous aspects of space combat?

Think about it for a moment. Since photonic fleet is a captain ability there are no doffs, boff abilities nor items that can improve its performance. Not even to further decrease the timer of it.

Photonic Fleet needs just a little more love to make it competitive.

    Suggestions:

    - Photonic Studies doff reduce photonic fleet timer.

    - Tie the 'type' of ship summoned by photonic fleet to power level settings @100 power (if no setting @100 then ships summoned are random):

100 weapon power: summon escorts: low hp/defense but high weapon damage.
100 shield power: summon cruisers: high hp/defense, average weapon damage. Taunts.
100 engine power: summon frigates: average hp/defense, low weapon damage, fast. Tractors.
100 aux power: summon science ships. good hp/defense, low weapon damage. Heals player & team.

    - Photonic Officer boff ability gives extra timer reduction to photonic abilities: photonic shockwave and photonic fleet. If photonic officer 3 reduces timers by 40% then have it reduce photonic shockwave and photonic fleet timers by 60%.

Yes, this means that if a player equips the Photonic Capacitor trait, has photonic officer 3 (a very rare ability to have) and has photonic studies doffs it could technically summon a photonic fleet at will (only one fleet per player would be allowed to exist at one time though) just like a carrier launching the fastest relaunch fighters (toduj for KDF for example).

Now THAT would be a darn functional way of using photonic fleet. It can be tailored to the player's needs... if the player fully dedicates traits, boff slots and doff slots to it, it can become a potent tool (otherwise the re-use of photonic fleet would be every 30 seconds or so at best given the much lower bonus of photonic officer 2).

Do my eyes decieve me or did he say Plasma Flamethrower? :D

Is it finally ready to be claimed on the Live Server?

I've been eagerly awaiting the deployment of this weapon ever since I learned of it and want to get one!

And yes, I know I said Live Server, but I can't claim it on Tribble, since my rep progress was reset to 0 when I transferred.

    Nice patch.

I am especially happy for the changes to Photonic fleet. Not just for Rom characters, but everyone involved. Those are awesome changes.

I am also overjoyed with the Reman costumes options. I might not play a Reman character, but at least Veril can have a decent uniform instead of looking like a walk off from a B rated vampire movie.

New bug I noticed on security escort. Yes the base power got fixed so that Romulan captains now beam down Romulans (including women wearing skirts, so I guess its casual fridays everyday). But when you use a doff to proc the extra security team members, guess what, its another KDF officer (KDF allied Romulan captain). Almost there.

Also, on the Installation 18 mission, when you rescue Tovan's sister, you get to the point about them having a talk, and Tovan has a screen and then she just ups and beams out. So yeah, there's that.

And thanks for all of the fixes, overall its a great job and a great build, just the little things left.

Er...I think it's exotic damage already. Exotic damage is ANY damage whose level is improved by Particle Generators (regardless of flavors; Plasma Shockwave deals plasma damage, but because it's affected by that skill, it's also exotic). I'm pretty sure that GW pull is affected by Graviton Generators and damage by Particle Generators.

The AI on Photonic Fleet is totally borked.

They are not following me at all. When I summon them, they will engage targets in the vicinity. Then after combat as I go to find my next target, all they do is mill about where I summoned them until they despawn.

Edit: Also, I can find no evidence that Photonic Capacitor is doing anything, other then giving me a buff effect when triggered. The cooldown does not appear to be affected at all.

They are not following me at all. When I summon them, they will engage targets in the vicinity. Then after combat as I go to find my next target, all they do is mill about where I summoned them until they despawn.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "totally borked."

Their Follow AI is working just fine. The issue is that they have no out-of-combat speed/turn buffs to assist them in attempting to use it. So if you summon 3 Cruisers that end up faced the opposite direction from you after combat, while you zip away at Full Impulse... yeah, they're not going to be able to follow - they're still trying to turn around.

Going to see about improving that, but they'll never be as responsive and maneuverable as something like a hangar pet.

Edit: Also, I can find no evidence that Photonic Capacitor is doing anything, other then giving me a buff effect when triggered. The cooldown does not appear to be affected at all.

Yeah, it's not working correctly in the build on Tribble. Will be fixed in the next build. Sorry about that!
