They're doing this so the subliminal not so subliminal add at the top of each page gets you to purchase a legacy pack while you wait for the servers to return. It's a plot I tell you, a PLOT!!!
Not a Romulan plot, mind you, as I would have been involved with it, but a PLOT I tell you.
What's that you say? The Tal Shiar are at my door...
Ignore everything I just said. There are no plots here.
FAIL i know want too kill anything green....and why is there a blue chick in themiddle there what is this AVATAR?
Oh. The server is down. Is something going on? Is it related to my late experience of massive rubberbanding and disconnecting? What is this. Hmm, must be way early in the morning for me. There is no feeling in my gut. -Y'know like that SURPRISE-feeling one gets some times. Oh. Oh, well. I'll boot up War Thunder instead. It was nice hanging out with you all Guys and girls. Anyone wants my stuff? :P
After the Romulan Release can there be a Cardassian one?? or Cardassian - Dominion mix please! with lvling from 1-50?? ill get that... Romulans are not fun so yea....
Clearly all Cryptics games share at least some hardware.
The last few days, following the launch of the NWN beta, we have been experiencing varying degress of problems in STO, culminating in todays catastrophic collapse.
Now, I'm not tech wizard, but even I could predict that there'd be a huge surge in players when NWN launched and it doesn't take a techie to know that such a thing would stress out the hardware.
So, i have some questions which I'd respectfully like Branflakes to ask of the technical team and post their replies here.
Will there be dedicated hardware in place for the launch of both LoR and NWN when it goes fully live?
Do cryptic accept that, without hardware dedicated to specific games, the sort of problem we've experienced today is inevitable if games are succesful and attract players?
Does cryptic recognise that the launch of LoR is likely to attract a huge number of people on launch day, making the numbers that tried to log in the day the anniversary event went live pale into insignificence?
Are they planning to radically expand server hardware capability, or are they hoping to sort it out with a software band-aid? Or, worse, are they just counting on our desire to play the new expansion to make us overlook the technical neglect?
Cryptic: Sorry guys but the STO servers are currently offline but we will keep you updated...in the meantime perhaps you might want to try out NEVERWINTER while you wait.
Sto playerbase: #$%^ this TRIBBLE the stupid servers are offline guess I will go and try out Neverwinter.
Its all very well saying how patient we are.
Perhaps its time cryptic rewarded us with some generous good will gestures.
Cheaper projects.
Projects when completed to become instantly available,no having to wait days on end.
Substantial increase in the dilithium cap. The current 8000 a day is far too small.
Faster timers.
Faster cooldowns.

P.S. A token amount of free Zen would be a nice gesture. The longer the outage, the bigger the token, yeah?
That would be 0 * 10%
