I've been waiting on a Fleet Assault Cruiser for months, and I'm in a Fleet that's probably 1/4 into completing Tier #5 (though knowing how long the previous Tiers took, and knowing also that Tier #5 is pretty much Tier #1 - Tier #4 again, it's going to be a while before we get there.
Anyway, I was under the misguided impression that the Fleet Excelsior was also a Tier #5 ship. I was told otherwise here, on the forums the other day. Turns out it's a Tier #3 ship (with the Hull & Shield stats of the Fleet Assault Cruiser). Anyway, I purchased one yesterday, and I'm loving it.
Have played two STF's today, and my Hull didn't drop below 95% in either. Usually I find myself destroyed once or twice (depending what I'm flying) though I love this thing; Armed with Cardassian Compressors and Plasma Torpedoes; that and I've got the Aegis Set equipped. Awesomeness.
Yes, it's 5 ship modules, but I figure I'll have easily saved up enough EC to buy another 4x by the time the fleet completes Tier #5. That's if I ever decide I want the Fleet Assault Cruiser now.
Dont have money left this month but if there were a fleet dread with acceptable stats i would simply stop eating smoking and whatever for a week to get it right away;)
Personally I have no fleet ships, nor do I see myself needing to get one. My Fed characters fly an Odyssey, a Wells, an AE with the MV console, and a Chel Grett and as far as I know there aren't any fleet versions of any of those aside from the MVAE but I prefer the boff layout of the standard T4 AE. However I'll be getting rid of that character anyway for a Romulan on the 21st, or a 2nd Romulan if we get a free slot for one like we do for a KDF.
My KDF character is pretty much just a contraband farmer.
On Fed-side I've got the Olympic Retrofit on one toon and the Cheyenne retro on another, plan on getting the Saber and Nova retros too, as well as the Aquarius in some form. However, the only FLEET Retrofit I have in the Luna, and let me tell you that thing is a blast.
As for KDF, I've been contemplating getting a K'tinga retro, Corsair retro, and the Ho'Sus, but not much beyond that.
What can I say? I'm a bit of a collector.
Admiral Katrina Tokareva - U.S.S. Cosmos, Yorktown-class Star Cruiser Admiral Dananra Lekall - R.R.W. Teverresh, Deihu-class Warbird General J'Kar son of K'tsulan - I.K.S. Dlahath, Vo'devwl-class Carrier
I fly a Fleet Patrol Escort, it's quite tough, nice turning and the 4 engineering console slots work really well.

From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

My Fed Eng used to fly the Fleet Saber Retrofit for a long time as the replacement for the C-Store T5 defiant, but sits now in a JHEC. The Saber never let me down, but was a little boring in the end. My Fed Sci used to sit in her Vesta, but changed that recently for the Fleet Nova Retrofit, which is an awesome fun little ship. And last but not least, my Fed Tac has the fleet Defiant, fully equipped, but finds herself flying the vesta more... Right now l'nm looking foreward for the T4 Shipyard and the Fleet Aquarius. (yes, l know the discussion about her ;-))

1. fleet ambassador, tac in an engineering ship, survivability with DPS, probably running mixed beamboat (rainbow cruiser if you like ), multipurpose role.
2. fleet advanced Armitage, pure torpedo boat with tet turrets and fleet runabouts.
3. Fleet excelsior, beamboat build with boff layout to survivability and mob suppression.
4. fleet nebula, running pure torpedo boat/grav well config with tet turrets, boff layout to supression.
kdf
5. Fleet vor'cha, polarized disruptor beamboat, multipurpose role.
6. Fleet vo'quv with fleet elite BOPs, unsure what to put on it yet, torpedo boat doesnt work well and turret build is ineffective, cannon build will end up like the torpedo build. leaving either beamboat build which isnt ideal or something different like a dual beam/turret build as i want the front facing the target the whole time while able to deal with threats from the sides and behind.
7. Fleet B'rel, DHC build, no survivability or as much as possible, boff layout to suppression.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
for a long time i used to fly around in a defiant refit.then changed to the steamrunner and sticked to it for a long time.changed to kumari lately.cant ignore the 5 weapons forward.
steamrunner for survivability and kumari for more dps.thats the way i fly.
my science toon flies a vesta but experiments with the caitian carrier too.my engineer toon flew on the collectable odyssey and now on the engineer version of the new odysseys.
my romulan will probably fly the ship that can give me more dps...thats all.
Only have the Fleet Nebula at the moment. Love that ship, but still not sure which way I wanna go with the build. Glad to see several others are kind of smitten with it too.
I do want the Fleet Exploration Cruiser, yeah I know, when my fleet hits that tier. I'll figure out a way to make it work.
Right now i love using and flying my Fleet Prometheus Class MVAM all the time but i do have the fleet Ambassador Re-fit Class, and as soon as my fleet hits T5 shipyard ill be getting the fleet Akira Class
I have found this thread to be a really interesting read, so I thought I would contribute my list of ships(Fleet and otherwise) that I currently fly.
Federation Characters:
1) Tactical officer in Fleet Heavy Cruiser Retrofit
2) Engineering officer in Tactical Odyssey
3) Science officer in Fleet Research Science Vessel Retrofit
4) Science Officer in Jem'Hadar Dreadnought
KDF Characters:
1) Science officer in Breen Chel Grett Warship
2) Engineering officer in Fleet Corsair Flight Deck Cruiser Retrofit
3) Tactical officer in Fleet Tor'kaht Battle Cruiser Retrofit
As you can see I like kinda of tanky ships, and am loving what the fleet ship system has done for making older ships not just viable but fun at the end game.
I am also really looking forward to the turn rate changes reportedly coming with LOR, and hope to eventually fly a fleet galaxy x with those changes.
Got my fleet B'rel. Torp-boat loadout, with a sci captain. Not the highest DPS in the world (particularly against good shielding), but it's really a blast to drive.
Running with tetryon beams, with a dual beam array. I'm not pumping out as much DPS as some of the other ships. My setup is very bursty: Sensor Scan, Tactical Team, EPtW, Energy Siphon 3 with Beam Array overload.
That and I've always had a love affair with the Nova class since I saw the Voyager episode Equinox.
*can't be arsed to spend five minutes in photochop to slap a crappy image signature together*
1) Engineer in a Fleet Assault Cruiser
2) Tactical in a Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit (Defiant), has the Fleet Advanced Escort and Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier in his stable
3) Science in a Multi-Mission Science, has the Fleet Long Range Science Vessel-R in the stable (and that's what I'd really like to be flying - if someone can PM me a non-torp boat loadout for it that works in ESTFs, I'd love you forever)
4) Tactical in the Andorian Escorts
5) Tactical in a D'kora
6) Science in a Wells, has the Mobius in the stable
KDF
7) Tactical in a Fleet Tor'khat, has the Fleet Negh'var in the stable
8) Tactical in a B'rel-R, just waiting on my fleet's shipyard to hit T5 to pick up the Fleet version
9) Science in a Vo'Quv, just waiting on my fleet's shipyard to hit T5 to pick up the Fleet version
So yeah. Most of my characters are in Fleet, lockbox, or C-store ships. They're just the best tools currently available to us. I'd really love to be flying a Fleet Intrepid, but it just feels so... weak... compared to the Multi-Mission Science vessels.

I don't have any fleet ships, but I plan to add at least one in the next few months.
Fed:
1. Tac in a Chimera
2. Sci in a Tholian Recluse (love this ship) sometimes seen in a steamrunner
3. Eng in the non-fleet Ambassador
4. Tac in a mirror escort, I forget which one... 4 nacelles version.
Kling:
1. Tac who alternates between a gauramba and a non-fleet BoP but I forget which it is.
2. Eng in a Kar'Fi
Fleet Assault Cruiser and Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier, I love them both. I've also got a Fleet Support Cruiser and a Fleet Nebula (whatever its real name is), though I haven't used much of them.
And a Fleet Tor'kaht, the best cruiser in the game.
On my Tac I have a FPE and a Fleet Excelsior. My sci has a Fleet Nebula but that usually stays in dock because she also has a Vesta, and my KDF Tac drives a Fleet Kamarag, which is an awesome, underrated battlecruiser that no one ever talks about because they're all in love with their Tor'Kahts.

No, because I like being able to run GW or VM more than a second engineering lt cmd.
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.
Support the "Armored Unicorn" vehicle initiative today!
Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!

I tried other ships but having the biggest one nothing comes close to that. I will probably be flying that until they make a ship that's bigger.
Last time I checked the JHDC is bigger.
You could of course always say the jem has more mass or is fatter but no, the atrox is still numero uno
I don't know, the JHDC has a larger crew so I'm pretty sure it has to be bigger.
My KDF character is pretty much just a contraband farmer.
I spent the whole release day hoovering ships to make sure

Lockbox ships start out with similar stats now and usually offer better layouts though so I fly a JHEC.
Would like a fleet intrepid though =D

Could you expand on this build? What's your total setup? thnx
