    I have a two tacs that use tric mines for STFS so im always in close. Most of the time I have agro anyway since not many spec with threat generation and I can't rely on someone to heal me especially in a PUG and even in a PUG from an elitestf channel. Donatra doesn't regen much when she cloaks and sometimes I force the cloak so that I can regen, plus my mines will still track her when she is cloaked.

    The 5km tactic does work with the right group setup when someone with threat generation can kite. But it is just as fast if not faster to just nuke donatra in close with cannons and mines in between cloaks especially when no one has threat generation. I hope some of the idiots that throw me abuse will read this post!

    I noticed that Donatra cloaks when her "target" (angroed ship) gets closer than ~6km
    It seems she isnt bothered from other ships getting closer.
    If she switches target to another ship the same rule applies.If by chance the second ship is close she will cloak.

    If the group is mainly composed from cruisers having beams it is ok to keep the 5 km rule because beam drops ~15% dps at 5 km

    If the group is composed by escorts i advise to go as close as possible to Donatra and blow her between cloaks.Cannons drop ~30% dps at 5 km .

    Anyway if i am in lead of group I usually ask the group what type of weapons use and then decide the tactic.

    If I am not leading the group i do what the leader of the group decides .

    Reviving this topic.

    Donatra and Scimitar AIs were adjusted in a recent patch. They're now much more aggressive with their cloaks, and pop Evasive Maneuvers after cloaking.

    She now cloaks regardless, but I keep getting raged at for hugging her. Does the 5km rule still apply?

    From what I've seen and experienced, no, the 5k rule really doesn't apply anymore. At the same time, she doesn't stay cloaked as long and it seems can be knocked out of cloak easier. She does move like a bat out of hell though when she's cloaked. I've seen her blast past me on a couple of occasions that would be impossible by any other ship in the game (aside from when the cubes decide to cross the map to kill someone).
    I know there is a method but all I see is madness.

    no, it does not...or at least it doesn't apply in the sense that she'll only cloak if her target gets within 5 KM; more likely, since that patch, she now either cloaks if ANYTHING gets within 5 KM of her, or it's just random

    The 5k rule apparently doesn't matter anymore however it's been my experience three times now that she also does a special maneuver when she decloaks and is no longer vulnerable when decloaking to do her special attack or she has a new regen that occurs.

    All three times I've spent 1 hour each with all escorts in two of the fights (except my science vesta) we've tried to down her as fast as we have in the past. She is invuln while cloaked now so DoT's and Timed explosions like the HTorp no longer harm her. She's doing some kind of weird regen thing after 50% (we watched her bar go back up literally) and her shields absolutely are either no longer displaying that they are being lowered or they aren't being lowered at all for the first 20 minutes of the fight. So something is seriously wrong with her on Normal. People have repeatedly told me that she's not like that on Elite so someone messed up over there at Cryptic and made her harder on Normal players then on Elite players.
