Endless loading while on starfleet chevron screen...

i can not get by this screen! it seems to load fine but when it hits this...it just sits...and sits...and sits....ive waited 15 min. and nothing.

Anyone know whats goin on?

    Can you screen shot please? I am not familiar with what you are referring to. If you are just stuck at a loading screen, it might be that the game didn't patch properly.

    I waited 30 minutes and nothing.


    Im at a loss I would love for a mod or tech person to chime in on this before I go nuts:(

    ok, i keep getting this problem after updates, if you use steam you can go to the library window and verify the game files, after this finishes, the bulk of the game will re download and it will work again after the first update. but something to fix this for good would be fun (anybody have any ideas :confused: )

    at any rate hope this helps the 10 files that fail to validate will be fixed soon enough

    and now...i have the issue...waited 7 minutes on that screen...nothing.

    Back to everquest i go...good job cryptic good job.

    This is probably not the correct place to post this, but I can only 'reply'.

    There seems to be a long standing issue with people not being able to get past the CRYPTIC loading page, the progress bar moves like 1/4 inch before just exiting and popping up the crypticerror reporter. All attempts to turn off firewallls, virus scanners, use admin rights, verify the download etc. are unsuccessful.

    I've found that if one has STEAM installed, that steam installs libcef.dll in the steam/bin folder. llibcef.dll is the chromiumembeddedframework, which appears to be an optional component of STO.

    if steam is not installed, CEF is not found, STO works.
    if steam is installled, STO tries loading CEF, that fails, and the get the above symptoms.

    simply copying the libcef from STEAM\BIN into the STAR TREK ONLINE\LIVE folder makes STO work, because now it can load it from its current directory (ie. where the game client resides).

    Having the same issues. It started earlier where I would load into a map but kouldnt move yet everything around me still does. Certain icon wouldnt load on my quickbar as well. Tested logging in on my Fed and KDF char. At some point it'd log-in but disconnect after the "map list" thing after picking a character and go baq to the log-in screen.

    Once again....cryptic patches the game....and now im back to this crud again. Gets to that chevron screen...and just sits and sits and sits there...nothing. I let it sit for 30 minutes to no avail.

    Come on cryptic this is out of control help you players.

    You guys are lusky to get that far mine says patching after i try to log in and stays there been like it for 20 mins before i gave up.

    it already patched once

    same issue.. it's a problem.. and I suspect it has to do with shader compilation...
