could we please do something about when you have full shields and full health and absolutely no debuffs but suddenly a single borg torpedo can instakill you and you're not even in an elite?
you'd actually be eighteenhundreding it by now. We've been complaining about that for months and nothing got done.
Well, honestly, they claimed in a patch note a month or two back that they had fixed this by removing the ability of borg to crit. But that really didn't fix anything.

Based on an ISE I ran earlier today, they absolutely can still crit.
After being hit by a single HY invisitorp for over 100k, i can honestly say removing the crit didnt solve the problem. God forbid the borg ever discover how to fire invisible tricolbalts....

The funny thing is OUR tricobalts were just nerfed. The Borg would still be armed with the OP-uber-badass tricobalts we used to have.
If you look at combat logs there are only a few sources of criting torpedos, they could fix them.. but they don't. Pretty sure their other attacks crit too, but the torps are always one hit kills.
It's just ridiculous, my hull strength is up there, my shield can stand up to most hits and I've got enough beam coverage to get it if it heads for me but I got tapped about 4 or 5 times in my last run at the Borg queen. I'll admit the group I was running with didn't have any big heavy hitters but we weren't doing bad, I got taken out by a plasma bolt that I just kept missing with my weapons and respawned, high tailed it back to help a comrade who was cornered and as I drop out of full warp and begin firing (I'm alongside the nose of the unimatrix) another bloody Plasma bolt is fired and I've got nowhere to go, out of position and my attack pattern is still cooling down. Boom. Done. Hadn't even taken any damage from anyone else. One shot.
I've even had the bloody things change direction and head for me when their intended ship gets taken out. I'm sure they just love me and want to give me a hug. Plasma bolts, space's loneliest projectile.

*knowledge suddenly dawns on me* Heavy plasmas are STO's creepers! They just want to give you a big hug, but too bad for them they explode...
On a side note, not just the invisi-torps and plasma bolts, but the freaking Torpedo spread we get from Donatra in KASE is just retardedly powerful.
If I see it coming, I can hit emergency to shields AND brace for impact... and I still die - at full hp and shields.
Actually not necessarily true, just hitting brace for impact alone will prevent most one shot torp spreads from Donatra, and along with Emerg to Shlds you should be fine.
In regards to the OP weapons the Borg use (reffering to ELITE STFs only), the reason for the OP weapons, sometimes one shot kills, and invisible one shot kill damage (which is either a huge delayed damage or a bug) is because te devs implemented changes to the Elite STFs to make them harder b'cuz apparently many people were complaining that Elites were too easy. That's your reason for the OP weapons. Regardless Elite STFs are still easy but still fun IMO :P
Yep, i was in my fleet ambassador earlier, 60k hull 10.7k on my borg shields, full health full shields, gate 1 shots me.

Wither the borg crit or not is moot when you get nailed for 68k dmg, which no one can survive. Hell my wells has 24k shield per facing and gets 1 shotted full health and shields with tac team going.

Gates, invis torps, denotra's torp spread, etc are all way to powerful dmg wise. Cut the dmg in 1/2 and just make them use it more often like our trics. Sustained dmg is harder to deal with then insta pops there isnt any dealing with that.

Just got done with a Conduit/space elite run and the tac cube at the end seemed....angrier than normal. And we were getting one-shotted with a little more rapidity than has been the norm for the last month or so.

That was their whole gimmick on the show "look at our ship magically fix itself, run in terror puny life forms".
Species 8472 was able to kick their butts because they could blow ships to high heaven in one pass. Long term combat with the Borg is supposed to be painful.

If you are commenting on the Unimatrix in HO then the Plasma Bolt is supposed to one shot you. It is canon as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Also, the Unimatrix in HO have a plasma version of the Spinal Lance. Very deadly. I agree about the invisi-torp and torp spread.
My beef with the Borg, is that the borg are supposed to wear you down bit by bit as they slowly gain footholds, turning your resources into theirs, your troops into theirs, your allies into theirs, until you become theirs. And with all the roots, holds, and disables this game has to offer.....

Yes, the Borg need more Assimilate Abilities. I know the Queen can. She assimilated my ship once and made it fly around attacking my teammates. I have only seen it happen the one time, though.
I'd say consider/image those one shot invisible torpedos as their secret weapon.
As soon as you are targeted then omega pattern, evasive and brace for impact should be in your fingertips in order to avoid those shots.
Lastly, as far as I know, this was introduced as some players (whose names shall not be written but you can search for their names) were "complaining" (or bragging) that elite stfs are way too easy.

The invis 1 shots were not added cause some people bragged. It has been a bug since the STF were revamped, its caused supposidly by the object per map limit. Each projectile has a level of priority when shown. Borg weapons are lower on priority then our own.
So all our cannon/beam shots fill the limit, the borg weapons then fire and the projectile isnt shown as the limit was hit. We then get a invis HYT up our TRIBBLE that we cant shoot, not even with FAW, thus we cant avoide.
Because of how the game renders this happens, the devs tried to fix it by increasing the priority of the borg projectiles but since our weapons always have highest prority it didnt help.
After all if we didnt see our weapons fire people would complain. And if they increase the limit they increase the server stress a lot. To solve the problem its best to cut their dmg down but let them fire more often and use more abilities so they remain hard/harder to kill while being a threat to us. Would also make the 1 shots far far less common and even with the occasional invisa torp it wouldnt be so bad because 90% of your deaths would be from constant sustained dmg/abilties.
When it happened to me was when I was in a RA in the OR sector. It wasn't even a dungeon but suddenly I was dead from a tactical borg cube. I had just started attacking it too, no debuffs or anything and poof gone. I was in a vesta sci and I just have to say, uhm, Really? the vesta series was the best Star Fleet could come up with to fight the borg? It's weaker then my Nebula in many ways!? Anyone else notice that?

Borgs need something else than instakill to be dangerous. Something a skilled player can avoid, instead of randomly use brace for impact, and hope.
