To be fair, it's already got better BOFF stations and console slots than the Galaxy-R... so what more do you want . Technically, yes we should all have shuttle bays but that would break game balance so much it doesn't need explaining! Also, other than the Runabouts, shuttles weren't a frequent source of firepower during the shows like TNG. More so in Voyager but that's only because they had the Delta Flyer and were on their own, hence making the most of any assets they had.

Having a lt. commander science officer makes the ship a welcomed addition to the cruiser fleet just wish it was not a limited edition ship but a permanent reward for completion of the mission.
To many fighters and shuttles being used don't think their needs to be many more.
That Sci station to me screams heal boat. Which is fine, it might make it a choice ship for PvP support cruisers (see what I did there?). I've yet to actually fly it myself, it's still sitting in my bank due to lack of ship slots. I'm actually more curious about the Kamarag. Same Boff setup, but better turn rate, dual cannon support, and cloak. Only thing it sacrifices is a bit of hull for all that extra flexibility.

I tried it on a engineer and I like that Klingon ship as well. I used Warp Plasma III with Gravity Well I and Aceton Assimilator on a group of Borg Spheres and it was cool.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
First let me say that im not a flamer, and am very appreciative of a free ship, and the hard work cryptic has been doing since f2p. That being said, wasn't all that impressed for it being an ambassador ship. Yes I get it, its an older model from back in time, and has some nostalgia to it. Its a little hard me to give up a fully stocked oddy for this. Guess ill wait for the 3 pack store bundle as like I did with the Odyssey bundle. Just happy that STO has lasted 3 years!
Pleased enough with it to get out of my escorts for a while. Ran multiple group activites with it last night and it excelled. Very very happy with it and glad to have a cruiser that can do what I want it to.
If you have the means, try a 2 aux2batt build. It will really open up the possibilities for a tac in a cruiser.
I'm toying with the idea of putting a Tac in the Ambassador - possibly an inverted variant of my Vesta 'Efficiency' build:
6 x Romulan [Acc]x2 Plasma Beam Arrays
1 x Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedo Launcher
1 x Romulan Experimental Beam Array
Mk XI or XII Borg Deflector (+5 Aux)
Mk XI or XII Jem'hadar Engines (+2.5/5 +?.? Weapons)
Mk XI or XII Borg Shield (+5 Shield and Autonomous Regeneration Sequencer)
3 x Mk XI very-rare Plasma Infusers
2 x Mk XI rare Field Generators
1 x Mk XII very-rare RCS Accelerator
1 x Mk XI rare Neutronium Alloy
Borg Console (+5 Weapons)
Romulan Zero-Point Energy Conduit Console (+1.8 all systems)
Red Matter Capacitor/Subspace Field Modulator/Deuterium Surplus/Shield Batteries

that is obvious that it isnt a carrier, i merely suggest to
have 1 hanger bay(shuttle bay), the ship suppose to have a
shuttle bay. why i suggested for the ambassador to use type 10 shuttles
and not the paragine fighters.
you guys should really learn the difference between carrier bay and a shuttle bay.
same thing with the vesta ship's, it has a shuttle bay and it's labeled as a hanger bay.
That should give you quite a bit of fun! I like it. May also want to consider a single cannon/turret build as well, if you are open to the idea.
I'll certainly give it a try once I've got this set up - I do like Beam Arrays on Cruisers but I've been tempted to do a Cannon build on my Excelsior before - when I've had a chance to play with this a little I'll parse the DPS and see what it's doing

It strikes me as a solid utility ship. Enough DPS to not be a drain on estfs, but the ability to run warp plasma and grav well plus some heals would be great for a team.
heres what im thinking (dont have the rom marks to test it yet). Similar to an above build
KHG or adapted MACO shields and engine
Borg Deflector
Lt. Tac: TT, APB
Ens Tac: BfaW or BO
Comm Eng :EPTS1, EPTW2, Aux2sif2, EWP3 or
EPTS1, EPTW2, RSP2, Aux2Sif3
LT Eng; EPTW1, EPTS2
LT. Com Sci: HE1, TSS2, GW1
I know the lack of a Field Gen is controversial, but for me, the +plasma damage combined with the bonus to Shield Emitters should make up for that. The shield cap will be lower, but each shield heal will be stronger, as will the resistances granted by those shield heals, and there are plenty of shield heal skills available in the build.
The DOFFS are the interesting part. Maybe something like so:
Damage Control Engineers
Projectile Doff
Conn officer for Tac Team and APB buff
This is what im thinking anyway. Reality may smack me upside the head.
When I get the Ambassador reward, I think it's nice. On the other hand, I cannot enjoy it because of 2 reasons. First, both ships are of lower tier. Second, I don't want to keep working on my BoFF station and skill shortcuts whenever I activate new ship. It is time consuming and annoying. Certainly, if this issue is resolved, I will enjoy flying around in different ships depending on my occasion.
My main gripe with it is that after playing the mission it didn't restore my bridge officer layout on my main ship and I didn't notice before entering an STF; fortunately putting my bridge officers back was fairly quick, but annoying!
As for the ship, I like it; the refit is a solid tier V ship that feels like a cross between the Dreadnought Cruiser and Star Cruiser, meaning it turns well and has good durability, with that import third tactical console but with a Lt. Commander science station.
I mean it's nothing amazing compared to fleet ships, but if you can't take a fleet ship yet and want a decent cruiser then it's not a bad option at all.
i know the devs are probably against this but
it would have been nice if they gave fleets a limited time
fleet project to add a fleet ambassador ship. to there ship yard list of ships.

i like it never had to mess with ltc sci before so having fun playing with different powers
and no it does not need a hanger saying because it has a shuttle bay is not a reason if it was every ship would have one hanger.
it was a nice idea though. lol..
if only the devs thought of it more.
carrier bay hold 6 of each wing
but the shuttle bay would hold 2 of each wing but small craft like
type 10 shuttles and scorpion fighters..
not debating just giving my thoughts, i know it will never happen.
the devs are quite fickle with things...
the Engines are slightly over sized, and we didn't get a bridge with it. I'm just wondering if any of the old ships will get the love and time the Ambassador got?
"I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment... because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived" Picard to Riker
It looks like a great ship. Only reason I am not using it is becouse it is major pain to grind rep to V and gear the ship. Will get it on all my toons. Did not do that for last years ship.
no it does not it only helps restore energy faster after a beam overload or if you are switching power presets. it used to help the normal beam volleys then they patched it to what it is today. take it from someone who used to have 3 of those things then i tested it without and there was no faster energy recharging apart from when using beam overload or during the use of presets from defence to offence or from warp to normal impulse. besides its pretty clear on the tooltip of the item what it does:)

This game is fast moving from Escorts Online to Carriers Online
No it doesn't...I don't understand why they are just tossing hangar bays in all the ships now.
To many fighters and shuttles being used don't think their needs to be many more.

That sounds nasty!
The Ambassador class isn't a carrier.
Yet. Who knows what the future will bring.

I hope they come up with a suitably awesome Z-store upgrade so that it's a proper end-game ship.

Beams drain energy FAST. THis helps compensate, keeping weapon power up.
