Hi guys,

I am happy that I can finally announce a new PvP tournament. I hope you guys are as excited as I am. So get ready to rumble!

This thread will keep you updated with what matches will come next.

PLEASE ONLY REPLY HERE IF IT HAS TO DO WITH OPENING YOUR TEAM OR YOU HAVE QUESTIONS

2. Updates

This thread will cover all changes to rules and other updates.

TOURNAMENT STARTS WEDNESDAY JANUARY 16TH 2013

Max 8 members per team

Explaination:

- you may have 8 members max

- if you loose some members due to any problems ( real life, kicked from the team ),
you may delete those and add new players who do not belong to another team. Always make sure though to not have more then 8 players total. That will be possible through out the tournament.

If the person has been member of 1 team and leaves than he/she isn't allowed to play any more in this tournament.

So think twice before you leave a team.

3. Rules

Space PvP Rules

Registration Information

1.1. teamleader registers on the forum
1.2. teamleader opens a team on the forum
1.4. members may be from different fleets/fleetless
1.5. mixed teams allowed ( FED/KDF )
1.6. you may add 5 team members + 3 reserve players
1.7. you can always nominate new players and add them to your team however you may not use a player from a participating team and have more than 8 players

Match Information

2.1. match will be announced by us
2.2. matches will be set at 15 kills max
2.3. time limit for a match 30 min
2.4. if noone has reached 15 kills at the end of 30 min the team with the most kills win
2.5. if after 30 min both teams have equal kills the next kill wins the match
2.6. you have 1 week ( Sunday - Saturday ) to play
2.7. KO System
2.8. best of 3 ( the team with the most wins out of 3 matches )

Challenge Information

3.1. matches will always be announced on Thursday or Friday
3.2. it is your responsibility to check for an upcoming match
3.3. it is your responsibilty to open a challenge request ( forum )
3.4. put your time down and contact your opponent
3.5. both sides agree to the set time
3.6. a team has to wait for 15 min if opponent team doesn't show up for a match
3.7. if a team doesn't show up within 15 min 15:0 for the waiting team
3.8. preset time can be used for your matches:

Saturday 22:00 UTC+1
Saturday 16:00 EST

Penalty Information

4.1. if you go against the rules once in a match you will be shown the yellow card ( yellow card remains active from one match to next one and so on )
4.2. if you go against the rules twice in a match you will be shown the red card ( you have to leave the match and miss for next match )
4.3. if you still have a yellow card from a match earlier and you go against the rules you will be shown the red card ( you will miss next match ? you may stay though inside the current match unless you go against the rules again in that match than you need to leave the match )
4.4. if you are found using exploits, bugs, cheats or third party programs you will be shown the purple card ( permanent ban from the league )

Match Rules

Setup

5.1. you may only run with max 3 SCI captains in a match
5.2. you may only have a max of 4 hangar bays per team

Pets

6.1. you may use all pets except: danube runabouts, orion interceptors, power siphons, ferjai frigates ( advanced also excluded )

Consoles

7.1. you may use all consoles except: aceton assimilator, antimatter spread, nadeon detonator, graviton pulse, isometric charge, theta radiation
7.2. battle module 3000 may be used but not the ability: EMP Burst
7.3. you may use the entire temporal warfare set however the three pieces ability not: Temporal Inversion Field ( So you are not allowed to use the third ability: Temporal Inversion Field )

Abilities/Items/Doffs

8.1. the ability scramble sensor may not be used
8.2. tricobalt mines may not be used
8.3. subnuc doffs may not be used
8.4. team batteries may not be used
8.5. jevonite may not be used
8.6. fleet shields may not be used
8.7. you may only have 1 tipler cylinder per team

Referee

9.1. for every match both sides agree to have a referee selected by both teams ( may not be member of either team )

Important Notes

10.1. Rules may be changed at any given time ( check forum/info )

7.1. for every match both sides agree to have a referee selected by both teams ( may not be member of either team )

Hello Captains!

I am very excited to see this tournament get underway. I was looped in a couple weeks ago about it when several members of the community got together to discuss the rules for it, and I am honored to support it. The rules for it were presented to me, then finalized, and are now posted above. I'm proud to put the Cryptic/ PWE "stamp of approval" on them, so please let me know if you have any concerns or questions.

This tournament is a "test" run of what I would love to see occur on a much larger, league scale. If all goes well, I would love to see a PvP competitive league start up once the first class of PvP Boot Camp participants graduates. That way we can have a ton of teams participate!

To provide a little incentive to the winning team of this tournament, I will ship out each of the winners (5 total, 1 for each team member) a boxed copy of STO that has been autographed by the STO dev team. It's also good for 30 days of Gold membership for you or a friend. If we get the league off and running, I would love to see even bigger and better prizes.

You can either participate in one or both tournaments.

Good point if you don't have a team please put your name down @handle and ask for an invite or gather your own team
