Fine by me I play on my Mirrior ship a lot and would welcome it HOWEVER since you want real role playing here.. Lets take the gloves of the Klingons as well they can attack you Feds on sight and you them. Whats that? to real for you? to hard to do your missions if always jumped by your 'team mates' you are at WAR after all and cant pick and choose which bits you want..:P

As a player of both factions, I'd welcome that with open arms. I even suggested something along those lines a couple of months ago in one of the "what do you want to see happen in the game" kind of threads.
The only issue could be STFs/red alerts, but I suppose the old enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend rules could temporarily apply.

Also, we'll need some kind of D-scan, so we can see if an enemy ship is going to wander into our mission :P

I would welcome that kind of gameplay. Maybe a new sector block of space can be created strictly as a PvP warzone open to players from all instances (basically one large uninstances sector). Possibly with a faction wide dilithium bonus (or something to get people to fight in it regulary). Hold a planet within a sector, get bonus of some type. Hold the surrounding space, maybe get a bouns to your ground combat fights. Hold an entire sector, get some dilithium and maybe a bonus to space fights. Hold the whole sector block, get some Zen points. Just a rough idea, obviously it needs to be fleshed out some more.

Of course, you would have to get people to play the Klingon factions, which would mean making it a complete faction.

    Star Trek: Deep Space Grind

This is a great idea! a true Neutral Zone say Eta sector make it more real , have to dodge Klingon ships to get to K 7

How is everyone sure the ships of Fed member worlds are Starfleet? They might be Federation ships instead.

You have obviously been here long enough to know that you can't post in a thread more than 30 days old. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I have Mirror ships that use the ISS prefix. But my reasoning for keeping that "In universe" is because of the ongoing war. It would take time and space at a shipyard to give a Mirror ship a new paint job. So... Just a quick refit, and send her out. As long as the transponder identifies her as a FEDERATION ship, Doesn't matter if she's got ISS or USS on the hull. Besides... if there's gonna be an incursion of Mirror ships... quick swap on the Transponder and voila! Instant Trojan Horse!

But in reality... I kept the ISS because it was different.
Also... you guys forgot that the Andorian ships have prefix options as well.
There is a non canon Star Trek instance of a sovereign power using its own Navy prefix on a captured ship. The Hydrans from Starfleet Battles and later Starfleet Command had a captured Klingon K'Tinga that they outfitted with their own weapons and gave it the HMS prefix.

Some ships will be losing the mandatory prefixes in Legacy of Romulus.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

The ISS prefix should trigger an "open for PvP" flag, and any USS vessel can engage it at will. Also, pilots of ISS should be unable to dock at ESD.

If you want to roleplay a Mirror Universe ship, you can't pick and choose which bits you want. Mirror Starfleet is the enemy of "normal" Starfleet, and should be treated as such.

I would be fine with that IF we had a way to travel to the mirror universe to dock with our own station...... or a small sector in the corner of the prime universe for us to set up home. :D

Except that was not a commissioned Starfleet vessel and was jokingly named HMS Bounty as it had been illegally seized by Kirk.

My Atrox is manned by non-Caitians. It is owned by the Federation and being flown in its service. It is supposed to have a Federation prefix. Even if that were not the case, the Caitians are, as someone else pointed out, part of the Federation. Suggesting that a Federation ship being flown by Federation citizens shouldn't have a Federation prefix is not really supportable.
This is wrong as my Country borroded a few ships from the US navey during WWII and it was given our prefix instead of keeping it U.S.S. .It is the same with any other country as well

When you buy a ship from another country it prefix is changed to that who now owns it.

They actually used the prefix H.M.C.S not H.M.S. as in a few book s I have on my counties navey.
