thats right, this sunday (23rd), at around 1pm est i'll be hosting TOS WARS!
Everyone interested in joining needs to be on drozona (i totally spaced out and forgot klingons cant go to k7 lol) for the event by 1pm EST. well be making our matches from there. Hopefully at least one- 2 matches will be able to be done.

what is tos wars you might ask?
well.. basically it only allows ships from TOS (the original star trek) and pits them into matches!
heres the ship restriction list-
fed side-(im sorry but i think i'll be leaving the nx class out of this era battle)
miranda (miranda only look only)
oberth
tos connie class
type f shuttle... (but seriously.. why!?)
teir 2 connie (connie refit look only)
klingon side-
brel (starter ship) (also note, this is not the Brel refit or the Brel retrofit)(also seems this ship is no longer available to new players
but if you have it feel free to bring it on!)
teir 2 bop- quldun (skin it to be b'rel ish)
teir 2 cruiser the k'tanco or something (forgive me for not knowing its name)
weapons and items restrictions-
if it wasnt in the original star trek, it cant be used-
phasers (the connie ones sound best on the connie but are not required) and photon torps for the feds,
distruptors and photon torps for the klingons.
no fancy gear, no fancy consoles. you want that then make your own funday.
the mk of the gear doesnt really matter for this. just no fancy consoles you get from ships.
other theme battles that'll attempted to be held are the-
star trek 6 2v1 battle (the teir 2 enterprise and the teir 3 excelsior vrs a teir 5 brel refit)
weapons for that match-
feds- phasers and photon torps
klingon- photon torps
no hull heals allowed for the klingon, only native hull regen.
and the feds can use the heat seaking torp console.

A little clarification please:
Are we sticking to all original equipment? (i.e. shield, deflector, engine weapons?)
How would this affect the BoPs? (limit to MK XI Blues?)
As far as consoles go, are we placing a limit on those as well? (if so, MK XI Blue again seems to match up well with the Blue Phasers power)

basically anything goes mk wise, and gear so long as its "era" appropriate (ie no fancy powers consoles allowed)
the brel was in the movies i believe. (star trek 3 the search for spock) which is why i'm also allowing the oberth and the miranda class's for the feds.
id personally prefer to keep it to the era its set in.......
if you still have your miranda that is available.
the time will be roughly 1pm EST with the matches starting at the latest 2pm EST.
however this highly depends on then number of klingons available as well.

No, as in th movies we see that the poor ship is "broken" and not able to take part. :P
But seriously, no. It's a tier 3 ship compared to the tier 2's and 1's being allowed.

EDIT: The D'kyr was in Enterprise, so it's an era relevant ship.

the dykr in enterprise was 100 or so years before TOS, and the one in the sto is "based" on its designs but is still a modern ship
come'on. i listed the allowed ships.
either you pick one of those with the weapons restrictions and gear restrictions... or this event isnt for you

The D-7 class (aka the K'Tinga) is in the game as the Commander level Battle Cruiser. http://www.stowiki.org/K'tinga
It has the D-7 skin seen in the TOS episodes, and the K'Tinga skin seen in TMP/Star Trek VI.
Also, you have to realize, some of us don't have the resources right now to buy the ships you limit us to. I'll try, but it's a short deadline, and not a whole lot of time to gather the ZEN for the Constitution class.

i understand that, and if the d7 was a teir 2 id ok it. but im really wanting to keep the number of usable powers in combat limited. and tier 2 and below is the best for a first go at this.
i understand people wont be able to afford it, so all i can say is.. if it works this sunday look forward to another in the future.

So how will the KDF players participate if they are limited to only the B'Rel (T5)?
After farming on all my toons, I've managed to scrape together the resources to buy the Connie. Looking forward to the event. Where are we meeting tomorrow, exactly? (This may be an issue if we have a lot of people participating, the game would like to throw everyone in different instances)
EDIT: Sorry, misread the first post, I guess the "starter B'Rel" will be eligible (although I never got to choose which ship I fly in at the start of the KDF track).

If I'm not mistaken every Klingon starts with a bop (starter ship) unless they removed that as well... Ill have to check after work to see.

I was actually wondering about this as well. KDF toons start at T3 now, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know if anyone even still owns a T1 B'Rel, and I'm fairly certain you can't get one even if you wanted to.
If you can check if be much happy. I think the key is to beam out before you "select" your ship if your able too.
If you can't ill check when I get home from work and go from there.
I myself will be able to do Klingon if there's not enough, so that's at least one Klingon for the Feds to kill lol

Well, you definitely can't purchase the T1 B'Rel from the Ship Vendor. If there's some way of getting it by creating a new character and not selecting a ship, I'm unable to test. However, if that is a viable method, then you'd be at a severe disadvantage (no good gear/rep passives, etc...).
Edit: Just looked and guess what, I didn't discharge mine. So that's at least 2 klingons that can bring a B'Rel.
Unfortunately that means only P2P players from before Season 5 have that vessel... and I bet a large percentage have stopped playing or threw out that vessel.

Cryptic probably won't introduce more TOS ships. Those ships are now ~150 years out of date.
And if this goes well, I'm totally up for a Dominion Wars or TNG themed event. My Galaxy-class Exploration Cruiser Retrofit is collecting dust - er, "microbes"- in the shipyard.

Yeah, short sidedness of me wanting an event immediately so ill be able to consider future "themed" battles with. Little mor research in mind.
All in all we have at least 2 Klingons for sure so... I think it'll be fun either way
