Launcher Maintainence

So I come home from work, try to log into the game, and I get a message saying there is Maintainence being performed on the launcher, players should not be affected, re-load if you experience issues.

I have been doing this for the past 4 hours, cannot get into the game, so I can't do anything and by the time I get a reply to any email I send, the game will be back on, well frankly because it will be at least 4 days before I get a reply, IF I get one.

so I would like thank PWE for TRIBBLE me out of gameplay for an evening, doing maintainence during a peak time, 6-10 PM thats smart, whoevers bright mind thought this was a good idea deserves a swift kick in the head, as I am now screwed on all my time sensitive projects.

So again I say, TYVM PWE, for TRIBBLE me, and more than likely several thousand other players.

    Did you try launching the .exe file directly, bypassing the launcher?

    Can you please let me know what error is occurring so I can pass it along? We have been seeing players logging in just fine since we started maintenance, so you should not be affected.

    I am not getting an error msg I try logging in, and the engage button just says cancel and nothing happens, it doesn't log me in.

    Upon logging in an "Error 4 invalid view attempt" is received and a the launcher behaves as normal as possible after a 10 second count. After hitting Engage the Cryptic splash screen appears where the game immediately crashes.

    I'm having the exact same thing happen to me as well. 10:41 PM EST. Repeatedly either gives me the Error 4 message, or it crashes as soon as 'Engage" is pressed. Was able to bypass by launching the .exe directly from the game folder.

    Edit: Game now just sits at "Connecting to the account server" after using the .exe file to bypass the launcher.

    I'm getting this too.

    I tried just using the gameclient.exe directly, which crashed like 4 times, then it finally worked. But now that I got it running, I just get 'Connection to the account server timed out.' when I attempt to login.

    I cannot play.

    Please help?

    This is also what happens when I bypass the launcher.

    Just for the record, I too am having this problem. I was in the game, got kicked mid-sector, and on trying to log in the game crashes. I get an error report for a second with the opportunity to submit to Cryptic, but it immediately closes. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm in a similar boat... First attempt with the launcher results in game crash, so I re-launch the launcher. Second attempt results in "invalid view" error, but the launcher stays up. Third attempt (I just click "Engage" again) gets me in the game, but within 60 sec, connection to server times out and I get logged out. I can log back in from within the game, but give it another minute, and it times back out again. If I close the game and start back up from the launcher, the whole cycle repeats.

    Looks like maintainence is not working. I just got kicked and have the same login issue. Sign has been up for hours but didn't have problem till know. If this is login issue why did I get kicked?

    I still only get the Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate. It will try and connect 2 times then I get the Unable to connect to Patch Server.

    I was finally able to log in without issues... I don't think it's anything I did - either the tech boys sorted things out, or I got lucky.

    I have finally found others who are having similar problems to me! My launcher hasn't worked for what feels like a week but is most likely 4 days. Whenever they started maintence. I tried bypassing the launcher which did not work and crashed. Here's an interesting tid-bit: There are certain parts of star trek online which won't resolve through DNS. So going through perfectworld.com for example works fine but as I have just tried anything having to do with the domain of startrekonline.com just fails. Interestingly enough Robtex has one of either the NS records or an A record coming back to a Comcast address which is unexpected. It's just strange that before maintenance *.startrekonline.com and the patch server and patcher were more or less working, but right now nothing really is working. I'm an IT guy, bored as hell and no STO... Please, dear god, Cryptic people fix STO! :)

    any word yet on this cryptic launcher autoupdate thing? I still get it every time I try and load the game.

    The launcher is open, but all I'm getting is a white screen where the login page should be. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the game client, but I'm not getting anything different. What might the problem be?

    connection from Congento is the culprit on my part...is that what cryptic is using as their ISP?

    I never had this problem since the game came out in 2010 its only this year that i experienced this cluster**** of a problem...

    I've been trying to start my game all afternoon.

    I keep getting this error with the Patch Client...

    "The patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no response function."

    I ran a traceroute too - it seems like it's getting hung up somewhere. so, am I not the only person with this problem? Nothing will launch, period.
