Unable to play game in 6+ months

Hello,

I am posting this in a last last ditch effort to resolve the matter before I start to think about non developer resolutions.

I purchased this game January 9th 2010, created a user name for the forum and the game (the same ID, which I later had to change the forum ID as it violated policy having it match the game ID) and was off to have fun.

Then around May/June 2011 perfect word came on the scene and made a change to my forum login ID. There was a URL on a STO support page for
linking the new pwe account and the former Cryptic ID. This never worked for me and after 9 emails exchanged with pwe, I gave up.

I ended up creating a new dummy account to log into the forums (this account) and the support pages of pwe however those support pages are not loading or working right now.

My issue may very well be as simple as using the incorrect login information
for any given field. It seems that pwe uses a lot of terms that are interchangeable. This could be a by product of pwe not being a native English developer. I have noticed the following terms used and can honestly say, I'm not sure which one logs me into the forum and which is for the game launcher:

pwe Account Name (used by pwe)
Account Name (used by the game launcher & pwe but is not shared)
Display Name (used by pwe & Cryptic but is not shared)
User Name (used by pwe)

To add confusion, emails sent to my hotmail email address from webmaster@crypticstudios.com show one "Display name" while emails from
email@email.perfectworld.com to the same hotmail email address reflect a different "Display name".

The hotmail address is the one I used to pay Steam for the game, is the one I receive all of my Cryptic advertising and is the one I have all emails saved under. I would love for a phone number to speak with a live person that can resolve this while on the phone, my success rate with pwe support via email is less than stellar.

If anyone from china (where pwe is owed/operated from) can kindly get back to me as I'd like to get this resolved.

Unfortunately, there is no telephone number to reach PWE support, unless it's a billing issue. Nor do the Perfect World Co., Ltd. (the Chinese parent company) visit these forums.

Sorry that you're having the problems that you are, but PWE doesn't publicly release contact information for staff above support level.

These days, many companies would rather resolve issues via online means rather than telephone.

    Great.

I was able to navigate to this URL https://secure.crypticstudios.com/startrek/menu where I can see my subscription (a lifetime account) and even see an old free 5 day pass code sent to me but there is zero help there to reset the password the game launcher is looking for. It also shows zero Zen but don't Lifers get a certain about free every month?

Also, are you able to load the pwe support pages using the link at the top of this page?

hi. sorry you are having such TRIBBLE luck with this issue. did you actually successfully link your cryptic account with a pwe account? you can easily check this by trying to log into the launcher, using your cryptic login information. be sure to click on the circle next to cryptic under choose account type. if you are able to log in successfully, then you need to link your account with a pwe account. if it is already linked, then it will say "please login with your pwe account name".

here is an account linking faq: https://support.perfectworld.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4134/~/(sto)(co)-account-linking-faq

lastly, the zen you get from the lifetime stipend does not show in the wallet. it is only usable in STO and will be there when you log in. hopefully, you are able to log in with your cryptic account. if not, then you will have to go through multiple hoops to find your login information.

here is a link for retrieving your account name information: https://register.perfectworld.com/account/forgotid

i hope this information helps your situation. best of luck.

Thanks xsharpex, your post has shed some light on the matter.

While I am still unable to log in, I am now seeing a message I never saw before
because I tried a password I wouldn't have thought to try as it was not associated with the game launcher.

It [the game launcher] says "please login with your pwe account name" when I try however I have
no idea what that account name is. When I use the link to recover the account name, it sends an email but the name it provides with the password that allowed me to see the "please login with your pwe account name" message still does not log me in.

The make matters more complicated, the forum screens show the first letter in upper case while the email shows the first two. The account management area I was in once that shows my subs
shows a different name all together so which is the account name the game launcher is looking for?

Thanks xsharpex, your tip paid off....after a round of guesswork, I stumbled across the combination it wanted. It was simpler when it was just Cryptic.
