ENT: Shran - I've never known anyone able to put more contempt into the word 'Pinkskin' as he manages.
TOS: McCoy - "Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not Vulcan!"
TNG: O'Brien - From being a bit part in the first episode, to having his own favourite transporter room which even the Captain knows.
DS9: See above. He is even better with some proper character development
VOY: Kes - I know, controversial, but come on, how cute was she?
Hard to pin down. Taking the easy way out as well.
TOS - 'Bones' McCoy. Didn't apologize ever for being human and imperfect.
TNG - The Duras sisters. Unafraid to use anything or anyone to achieve their goal.
DS9 - Martok. Didn't apologize ever for being Klingon and a warrior to the core.
VOY - Neelix. Under that cheerful, pudgy, annoying exterior was a duranium backbone and a heart as big and strong as a mountain.
ENT - Shran. Didn't ever apologize for being Andorian and didn't care if you liked him or not.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
A true warrior captain, who holds the distinction of being the only person ever to punch Q in the face.
I still think Sisko is my favorite ST Character ever, but upon consideration, I also like Worf and Martok. Two "Quintessential" Klingons, in my book--If I were a Klingon, I'd probably aspire to being allowed to join Martok's house. :cool:

No - I think Gowron was the best Klingon ever. Gowron was a REAL Klingon.
Gowron is honorable - within the rules and bounds of Klingon society. It's clear that he recognizes those rules, takes them to heart, even he acts out of cynical self-interest.
Gowron is bold and and courageous. He's willing to take enormous personal and political risks to for glory and success - but that degree of personal courage does not translate into moral courage.
Like every warrior, Gowron eventually submits to hubris and madness. Such is a fitting and inevitable end to all warriors since the days of Greek drama.
Martok and Worf (as portrayed on DS9) were comic book characters. Gowron was the Klingon given life, how that way of thinking and acting actually works in reality and the sort of complex character it produces.
After much consideration I would say Shran the Andorran general on Star Trek Enterprise. I just thought Jeffrey Coombs was great as Weyoun and Brunt but Shran was the best. It renewed my interest in Andorians and makes me look forward to the Kumari ship in 2013.
Sisko was great - and one thing I found REALLY ironic was that, in the episode where some of the crew disguised themselves as Klingons, he was almost better at being Klingon than he was at being human! :P
Don't forget that he is the only ST Character I know of that has actually punched Q in the face!!
For TAS: Chuft Captain. It takes major cojones to go up against the guys who ROFLstomped your race in the last war singlehandedly. Sure, Chuft lost, but I have to admire his courage.
Garak hands down.Every episode of DS9 he appeared in my whole family was laughing about some remark he made that made.I found myself looking forward to episodes he would be in.
Bashir-The moral of the story is if you lie all the time no one will believe you when you tell the truth.
Garak-I thought the moral of the story was never tell the same lie twice.

Are you people serious? Spock is my favourite of course.
Also, I have to say that I'm somewhat shocked by reading this thread that some of the characters I liked the least are many other's favourites, particularly Data and Q. I found Data and Q's humor to be just an annoying distraction that I could have done without.
