In the wake of the Dominion War, alliances slowly crumbled, the peace that was so valiantly fought for dissolved. In 2387, the Hobus star became a Super-Nova, unleashing devastation of the like unseen by sentient eyes for millennia. In the path of that fiery devastation was the planet Romulus, the capital of the Romulan Star Empire, one of three great super powers in the Alpha Quadrant.
Through the stalwart bravery of one Federation Ambassador, the galaxy was saved? but Romulus was destroyed. In the wake of this breath taking disaster, the United Federation of Planets mobilized in the largest humanitarian aid and relief operation in known history. An opportunity for a lasting peace through charity was at hand.
However, political maneuvering in the Klingon Empire set forward a series of events which would spiral the entire Quadrant into war. Slaying Chancellor Martok in ritual combat, the new Chancellor J'mpok rallied the Klingon people to war against the Gorn and their allies, beginning a chain of events that would alter the landscape of the Quadrant forever. Withdrawing from the Khitomer Accords peace treaty with the Federation, J'mpok warned the Federation out of the Archanis sector. War was on the horizon.
To safeguard Federation interests in the region, Starfleet commissioned Starbase 381- Praetorian, home to the 26th Fleet.
The 26ths mission is to engage in tactical and military operations in the Eta Eridani Sector Block, provide security for Federation and Starfleet assets and carry on the diplomatic and scientific missions that have been the mainstay of Starfleet since its inception.
Appointed command of the 26th, was Vice Admiral Kalus Rez, who had previously served as commander of the 3rd Fleet. His experience on the front lines as Captain of the USS Wyvern during the Dominion War had forged him into a strong, capable leader, and set him apart from his post war peers. His reputation for his willingness and capability to take on difficult--sometimes impossible?assignments made him the logical choice.
Situated on the edge of the nefarious Sea of Sorrows, an area rife with naturally occurring gravitic anomalies, Praetorian stands a beacon of hope and safety to the Federation colonies within the station?s theater of operations. Praetorian?s task force stands guard against KDF incursions, and hunts for the pirates and raiders which have made the sea their home, and the colonies their prey..
About the 26th Fleet
The 26th Fleet is an RP guild, focusing primarily on the telling of stories in the Star Trek Prime Universe, and using the in game mechanics to facilitate that purpose. Our cannon, for those who are curious is told through over forty years of Star Trek Television Series and movies, specifically Star Trek: The Motion Picture, to Star Trek: Nemesis. We are a multinational guild spread over an array of time zones. However, a majority of our members are in the United States, and United Kingdom.
As of this writing, we are fast approaching a Tier 3 Starbase, as dictated by the in character actions of our fleet members. None of this is to say however that we don't enjoy the in game STFs and assorted other actionable content in the game. Stay tuned for exciting updates from the 26th Fleet!

Based on the 'Captain's Table' concept of short stories, the author asks for your feedback!
By Praka:
26th Fleet - Boarded by Klingons
- Adapted from an RP mission I ran last year, you start off on a bridge with Starfleet and Klingon NPC's having a wonderful firefight! This mission is good for RP, and you can now actually transition from the bridge to Deck 6 to complete the mission!
26th - Sea of Sorrows Ep. 1
- Grab your fighter or shuttle, and try this recon mission out! Lt. Praka is secretly assigned to scout the neutral zone and discovers a significant find!
- WARNING - In a small craft, this is hard. Get your game on
26th - Sea of Sorrows Ep. 2
- It is time to retake the USS North Dakota from the True Way! Strap in, lock and load, because this will test your space and ground combat, and, importantly, your Roleplaying skills!
It doesn't mean ERP, if that helps. The angle we have on mature is this - The Trek stories being told within this fleet are violent and sometimes visceral, as is fitting the wartime setting. Characters might develop attachments IC to other characters - that's fine as we love to character development. What people choose to do behind closed doors isn't really subject matter we RP or put on screen, if that makes sense?
A good number of the players in the fleet are mature adults as well, therefore we're trying to set the tone for recruitment - Ideally Mature means people talk to each other openly, honestly to avoid the dreaded drama llama showing up. We totally good off on our OOC channels, don't get me wrong... even with a bunch of us in our 30's or 40's 'mature' doesn't always apply when fun is concerned. Mature, hopefully, also means that making other players' enjoyment is a priority to you, as much as your own.
Heavy RP - We RP in spatial all the time. We RP on our Fleet channel requesting docking instructions. We don't simulate the strictest military regulations, but we feel we simulate the ideals of Starfleet and the Federation. We do have regular uniform inspections. We do RP through STF's, Fleet events and other content in the vast majority of cases. We do use the Foundry to make story telling platforms that would be terrible for grinding dailies, but perfect for a GM to use to deliver an evenings worth of content.
In summary...
Mature means a) Hard hitting stories you might not have seen on TV in the 90's. b) experienced players who have a kind of professionalism and camaraderie that reduces ooc drama issues.
Heavy RP means - RPing darn near everywhere all the time. In-Character Actions have In-Character Consequences. (ICA=ICC)
Does that help?

Cheers
As a matter of fact, there is. The names on the OP can assist you.
And now an update on the 26th Fleet.
I'd like to say congratulations to Sventlina and Bishop on their promotions! Both officers have earned their positions via service to the fleet. We're expecting great hings from our two newest command staff officers!
I'd like to take a moment, and introduce my replacement as Personnel Officer, Bishop. He'll be doing the post and news updates here in the thread as we phase him into the role.
Thanks for the introduction bud, appreciate it!
As the post says, I've been promoted to personnel officer and will be in charge of all recruiting from here on out. I'll be posting some updates with the 26th Fleet in the next day and or so.
The 26th Fleet has some exciting new things planned with Season 7. The Romulans are need of assistance and the 26th is responding. More to come on this!
Svetlana being our Operations Officer, will have plenty of RPing events taking place on a regular basis. She's a fantastic RPer with some great story ideas.
Hope to see you all in game and meet some new RPers!

SUBJECT: Romulan Assistance
Captains,
The Federation has offered assistance to the Romulans while they move into Tau Dewa. The 26th Fleet has stepped up and will begin moving Task Force Avalon, along with supply ships into the system.
We will also encounter the Kingons as they to have offered the Romulans assistance. Although they are there on peaceful terms, it is important that we keep a close eye on their movements. The 26th Fleet has had many conflicts with them in the past and tensions may rise.
Our primary target will be the Tholians, however, there are other resistance forces that may try and stop our efforts. Because of this, I am sending out this request for any Captains to assist us. I could use the extra manpower.
If you and your crew are nearby and can offer assistance, then come and join us. This task that we have been given must not fail. I won't lie, ships might be lost, lives might be lost, but this mission will allow us to form a strong and lasting relationship with the Romulans. It's the start of a new era and you can be part of it.
Send me a secure transmission and I will provide you with a rendezvous point.

SUBJECT: Answering the Call
It is the beginning of a new era for the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire.
The 26th Fleet answered the RSEs call for assistance. Led by Captain Grifter Treysik, Task Force Avalon entered and secured Tau Dewa. The fleet fought vigorously, removing both Tholian and Tal Shiara threats. Task Force Avalon will continue patrolling the sector and the systems within it, ensuring the safety of both Romulan ships and New Romulus.
Personnel from Starbase 381, the 26th Fleets base of operations, have also been dispatched to New Romulus. The personnel included engineers, doctors, scientists and tactical squadrons. Their mission is to provide any assistance the Romulans may need.
Due to the high priority of this task, the 26th Fleet requires not only starship Captains, but personnel officers as well. It is important that we continue to maintain a high defensive status on Starbase 381, due to it's location along the Neutral Zone. We do not want to stretch our fleet and personnel to thin.
With this said, we are seeking all able bodied captains and personnel. If you would like to transfer to the 26th Fleet, please contact Captain Treysik (bishop@grifter.treysik). We also request that you fill out a transfer request form (application) at the following terminal:
http://26thfleet.enjin.com/home
We look forward to hearing from you.

LCARS ACCESS: 26th FLEET DATA SYSTEM
Despite being tested by the Klingon Empire's 32nd Attack Fleet, our own Task Force Avalon has reopened the space lanes to New Romulus. After a challenging attack at the ruins of Starbase 104, our crews managed to send a clear message to the KDF - Stay on your side of the Neutral Zone.
Victory comes with a price. Nearly two hundred dead with almost double that wounded. It comes as small consolation that the KDF fared much, much worse but for everyone one of their ships destroyed, a boat load of warriors made their way to their ancestor's spiritual halls. In Starfleet, letters are written, memorials held, and we grieve in our own ways for the fallen, wondering when we will at last achieve peace.
The starship Enterprise paid Praetorian a visit the other day. Though the stopover was brief, Starfleet's flagship and indeed the embodiment of our ideals, seem to boost morale across the station and fleet. As soon as Intelligence verified the KDF was standing down, we resumed operations to support New Romulus. For each ship that leaves to assist D'Tan's people, I know there are many aboard who look out at our dockyards and see the stricken ships that fought at 104. We'll never forget them, as Tennyson wrote:
When can their glory fade ?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!
We'll remember our 'Noble two hundred', and carry on as they would have wanted us to do.

OOC - We're getting into some excellent RP, especially in the New Romulus content. Now is a great time to join the fleet. With lots of active, RP'ers online, we're running events and content every day.
- Strong EU contingent!
- Lots of NA players too!
- Starbase is one project away from Tier III !
- Shipyard currently provides Fleet Defiant, Nebula and Nova class refits!
- RP in our disco-enabled Operations Club, or enjoy the wonders of our new, Nanov-conservatory in our Embassy!

I'd say money-back guarantee, but we don't use money in Starfleet, do we?

Admiral Hunter has given me permanent command oft the USS Centurion, a Vesta class starship. It is an honor to receive command of such a vessel. Due to our involvement in Tau Dewa, a formal ceremony will be put off until further notice. The Sentinels repairs are complete. I have put my recommendation to CMDR Alexai Demovski, my XO on the Sentinel, to take command. He is an exceptional officer and has proven his abilities on more then one occasion. I wish him the best of luck.
I have appointed Captain Levesley the task of investigating Section 31. Their have been recent incidents regarding illegally sanctioned prisons and research facilities. I have sent Captain Vempati, Captain Blackrose and Captain Brysan with him. The rest of the fleet will continue to patrol and secure Tau Dewa.
We continue to receive an influx of transfer requests to the 26th. Along with being commander of Task Force Avalon, I am also the personnel officer, in charge of interviewing new transfers, for both Praetorian and Task Force Avalon. This, coupled with my ongoing efforts in Tau Dewa, has kept me very busy, with very little down time.

And now some IC logs of the 26th fleet.
http://files.enjin.com.s3.amazonaws.com/305813/module_gallery/original/909008.jpg
It?s been just shy of a month since relief operations have begun on New Romulus? and already the price in blood and treasure is high. I expect it to climb further still. With the defeat of the recent KDF Task Force, Praetorian station seems to have found a period of tranquility. Relief Operations continue to the Romulans; convoys of Starfleet and Civilian origin come through the station on such a regular schedule that freighter crews are becoming familiar faces in the crowd on the station. Making port of call seems more like a homecoming, or a reunion for some of the station?s crew.
I hope they enjoy the respite.
During this down time, I?ve seen to it that Commander Cabis is finally getting the chance of a lifetime. Commander Cabis is being sent back to Starfleet Academy, to undertake the Perisher exam; the final test of a command officer?s abiity to lead men and women in extraordinary situations- a graduated officer?s version of the Kobayashi Maru. It is my intention and hope that Commander Cabis comes back to us as Captain of a Federation Starship.
However, this required a replacement in our security ranks. Lieutenant Penny Black has been promoted to Lt. Commander, and accepted the role of Chief of Security. She?s a remarkable young woman, who has been forced to overcome more than her fair share of obstacles in life. I know she?ll do well in this posting, and it couldn?t have come at a better time.
Captain Nightmoon has made some disturbing finds, which were corroborated by Chief Ill'issin. The Iconians have been spotted in the Tau Dewa sector.
Everything that we?ve worked for, everything that we?ve bled for is in jeopardy of being undone. Captain Nightmoon however has a plan, but it?ll require the skills of brave men and women to venture to hostile environments, and contend with the Tholians.

I pray they can act in time.
Computer, end log.

You can always find us hanging around the Tau sector of late. Our big mission currently is the aid of New Romulus. Other then that our starbase is always moving and shaking lately. Grab us and you can come look for yourself!
Actually I submitted an application last Friday, but never heard back from a recruiter.
Star Trek: Praetorian Official Website / 26th Fleet Recruitment thread
Actually, Rhys responded to your application on the website. Please go here to review your application
The 26th is going to be placing a hold on recruiting for the remainder of the 2012 Calender year. If you already have an application on file, please contact us ASAP under your forum application, so we can sort you out. Any new applications after this post will be held until after 01 January for interviews and so forth. With Christmas and New Years coming up in the next week, we have a lot off folks taking time away from the game to spend with their families, friends, etc.
Quite frankly, the interest in the guild and our story has been overwhelming! So, please be patient with us as we work through the Holiday. Come 2013, we'll have more exciting news, events and role play coming your way.
My bad ;-)

I've tried hanging around the Tau Dewa sector as an earlier post said that the group is in that area somewhat, but haven't seen any of the 26th fleet. If anyone would like to reach out to me directly, feel free: S'uvok@rcastillo
