Well, i haven't left PVP so...

I have noticed i'm not really bothering to queue anymore unless somebody twists me arm. This Vldy exploit is half of it, i dont mind being ****tier then the average bear at PVP, but i strongly dislike PVPers who are already as good or better using exploits to win, its needless. So i just havent been pewing much.

Besides, i couple queue and spent 45min maybe earning 1500 dilithium, or i could get a group and do something else that rewards my time.

    its not an exploit...;)
This wouldn't technically be an exploit....

    It would take:

    - The big bug/exploit to be fixed
    - Balance pass on energy drain pets
    - Balance pass on Tractor pets
    - Balance pass on AMS console
    - Balance pass on Leech console

And that's all. Really, it's that easy.... :P

For me, I would like to see the que systems to match payers / teams by their performance.

Could be something as simple as a hidden score for each player (from each match: +1 for win, 0 for draw, -1 for defeat, -2 for not participating).

Being a beginner myself it really kills my interest when I face a team of well organized vets and get blown in less time than my tac team stays on.

In my experience PvP is truly fun when I face team that matches mine in performance.

Pvpers spend the most amount of $ for all those toys (edit: mainly because pve even in elite is a piece of cake with non pay to win gear, so other than esthetics, why would somebody get a pay to win item?). Even if we don't buy every single item/ship, I bet we spend on average x times more than a pveer (where x > 2). So, even if consoles/box ships are common gear pve-pvp, it's cryptic's intention not to have separate gear, mainly due to maintainability issues and cash gain. In a game like mwo, where pvp is the only choice, balance is easier to reach. But in sto, as long as pvp and pve have same gear, slightly overpowered items will keep being released due to the feel of having an edge by the buyer. Blackjack posted few months ago a nice link regarding to release of overpowered items. Pretty much you buy x item, that gives a slight edge and doesn't have a hard counter. Then people work around it, find some effective counters, everybody starts to find out about them and that item becomes obsolete. Then it's time for a new overpowered item. And people will also find other counters. Meantime the company (cryptic in this case) makes lots of money. Pretty much this model of pay to win will never cease to exist.

I am personally for a separate pvp gear, but due to the above reasons, I doubt it will ever happen.

New managment, full time PvP dev team. No more Double Speak ala: "PWE/Cryptic/The Devs really want good pvp" BS
Gecko and Dstahl can become lead designers EP, Vice CEO of foundry and costumes asset. They have failed in their positions to lead PvP development .

I've not (yet) completely left STO / PvP but will admit that I'm finding it hard to find the motivation to even log into STO since season 7, much less to actually queue for PvP when I'm on. Which is quite a contrast to a year or so ago, when STO was the only game I played and I only PvP'd when on, very rarely touching PvE.

To get me back into STO PvP full time, some / all of the following would have to happen:

1, Remove the need to grind PvE to keep up in PvP - I have limited time and when I can play I want to PvP, not be forced to do mindless PvE to get my PvP gear / abilities.

2, Remove or at the very least seriously tone down the abilities of the P2W consoles.

3, Remove PvE spam from PvP - in my opinion it has no place there, since there is a whole other 99.99% of the game I can go mess around in if I want to fight PvE.

4, Give some thought to balance so that all career types (tac/eng/sci) are useful and balanced against each other. Likewise with BOff abilities.

5, Make ships other than escorts useful again / balance all the ships so we are not seeing everyone wanting one or two specific lock box ships.

6, Give us some new maps / battle types - 1 CnH map and a couple of arena ones get boring after 3 years.

7, Give us meaningful open PvP, or at least some more areas like Kerrat (but fix the Kerrat issues).

8, Leader boards, so I can see how (badly) I rank against the rest of the community.

9, Useful rewards for PvPing - half my time PvPing I get nothing other than a few measly EC and the odd trash drop item, meaning again I have to go do some PvE to farm some resources.

That should keep them busy for a while...

I often see PvPers asking for a return to seasons 1-2, not sure which season it would relate to but for me this game was probably most enjoyable around September - December 2010. For whatever reason it has steadily got worse since then, with (in my opinion) the big slide starting right after F2P.

Here before PWE (and hopefully) here long after PWE is gone.

What this game needs is PvP, NOT PWE.
