Honestly ... What Cryptic needs to do is put the B'Tran daily back ... Give the KDF a mirror version of it.

THEN ... give the FEDs a patrol in another sector not unlike the KDF sorties.

And ... mirror the battle / kill dailies as well.

I'm KDF and would rather see them mirrored evenly than to see more dilithium sources cut.

We ALL need more sources in this game. :(

This sounds like a fair thing to do. Its good that there are some devoted KDF players here that admit to the big imbalance now and want to see it corrected.

But I think what Levi3 was trying to get across was more of the "realistic" thing that would happen instead - Cryptic is more likely to remove something to make it even out rather than to "add" more dilthium dailes to the Feds. Sad - but the current reality.

Because people were exploiting it. By doing "Explore Strange New Worlds" + both B'Tran missions, people were completing 2 dailies at once, for a total of 2880 dilithium for 3 exploration missions. I can only assume it was never intended that the "Chart"mission could be completed at the same time as the "explore" mission daily.

Even though I have yet to do etierh mission with my level 50 characters, I would say the Dual completion thing is THEIR fault not ours. This just smacks of them realizing a mistake and deciding to let the playerbase blame the players instead of the DESIGNERS. Sheesh.

Yep. The KDF version had already had its dilithium removed months ago AFAIK.

Suck it up guys, this was probably never intended.

STO community will cry about anything.

That is ok then, you wont mind them removing the "way of the warrior" daily from the kdf side, as that too technically clashes with two other dailies

I will gladly count the fleet actions as a source of Dlithium, but only when they fix them and make them not suck donkey style!

On a plus point, I wont ever have to go to B'tran again!! Cryptic, making sectors worthless since 2008....

LOL - yeah by the KDF players logic and the OP's logic - they should remove the "way of the warrior"

    Nice call:P

Kind of, but not really. Path of the Warrior rewards you based on you completing the OPTIONALS from the Pi Canis Sortie Alpha and Bravo dailies. It's more of a synergy, which is somewhat different to doing two explore sector dailies for the price of one which is what B'tran really was.

You DO realize that it just looks worse when one side has extra Dil generation built in to their dailies while the other side doesn't?

You mean the side that has maybe a quarter of the mission content the other side has and is generally considered to be a half-finished product with nowhere near the kind of options and goodies the Fed side has? Yeah, it IS worse when one side has more of something the other side lacks.

    I wouldn't consider B'Tran an exploit.
Besides... its pretty much Vice Admiral level work out there, and you never know what kinds of missions you're gonna get. You might get 3 missions where you have to give supplies to a planet, or you might get 3 drawn out combat patrols in a row. And for those of us who don't have uber Z-store ships ships, that can take a while.

Ok I understand that the KDF has not expanded a lot past its origin as a PvP only faction - but what you are claiming is that the KDF has "nowhere near the kinds of options and goodies the Fed side has" - then why does it need all the extra dilthium gathering abilites? If the Fed side really has all this stuff and the KDF does not - then they have no need for the extra dilthium right?

Maybe we need it for our Starbases? Its a known fact that the KDF fleets are ALOT smaller then the fed fleets. Hell, I think I'm the only active person in the KDF fleet I'm in that is contributing Dilithium. Its obvious we don't need it for the C-store since we haven't had a damn ship release since March. Guess we got an overprice EVA suit, big deal.

Its numbers really, we have to earn more individually because we don't have the numbers.

If Cryptic wants to nerf the KDF Dilithium earning to Fed levelsfine. Make our starbases cost 20% of their current price. 20% of the player base should have to pay 20% of the price(assuming everyone is paying into the SB system).

It depends on what you mean by 'need'. As someone has already pointed out, KDF have starbases too, but with only 20% of the playerbase (supposedly) the fleets that are up would by numbers alone be smaller than the Fed playerbase. But then there's the other stuff dilithium gets you, like access to items off the dilithium store, or crafting, or doffs from the academy, or exchanging it for zen. So the KDF already gets shortchanged through the lack of mission content and faction-specific stuff too, having comparatively greater sources for earning dilithium is one of the few things the KDF has got going for it.

Bear in mind I haven't really argued that B'tran was justified, I was merely arguing originally that the B'tran daily isn't equivalent to the Path of the Warrior/Pi Canis Sortie dailies. Personally I don't think it's a huge issue, removing Chart the B'tran daily won't affect me as I have yet to progress any of my Fed characters up to the final campaign chapters. Having said that, I don't support its removal. It just seems arbitrary to me, where say removing the 'investigate the broken consoles' daily does not.

i think it is a good move on their part to remove this it does have the potential to be exploited and you all seem to have conveniently forgotten that some new doors have opened in the form of fleet actions getting dilithium rewards added to them as well as a reward facelift and foundry is keeping its reward of dilith and even the STF dilith was not nerfed THAT hard 250 dilith that's all.

ummmm think you have forgotten the foundry one was nerfed as well , the way it is now you have to run much longer missions and you dont know what your getting ,and the nerfing 250 is all well thats too much when your trying to level up in reputation which is time consuming, leveling up our starbases and leveling up our embassies, there is no way you can actually think that nerfing dilithium is good oh and by the way you forgot there upping how much dilithium ur gonna use in these and the way they jacked up doff covertion dilithium prices.

What they need to do is increase the Dilithium cap or remove it all together, and make Dilithium account wide instead of per toon. I say a 50K Dilithium cap on a daily basis would suffice.

Make Dilithium more versatile by making it an account base currency along with that cap increase.

uggg....Dilithium IS NOT per character, earned per character yes...bound to said character..NO....if you put it on the exchange at a 25:1 ratio you can move it around between characters.......

@mattjohnsonva, you also forgot "turn over contraband" :P thats 2k every 4 hours for 5 contraband....and really the only way to get dilth for EC lol

I will be making a great use from that little doff mission. Hundreds of contraband = lots of dilithium :D
Making 20 contraband a day alone hits the cap on my second main toon ;)

With the change in mission reward eligibility you are looking at between two to three hours of game pay to get the foundry daily reward so the exploration dailies are the best way to get your daily dithium and still have time to do other thing's in game wiht your available game time.

The Dilithium reward has been removed from the Chart the B'Tran Cluster, Vice Admiral - Daily, mission.

Out of all the patch notes, this was the one that struck me as... odd. I don't play STO much but when I do get a chance, I tend to grind some Dilithium or such. Why was this removed? Honestly, it feels random and removes the point of end game exploration, a system that was well overdue for an overhaul.

Is this the start of the "exploration overhaul"? Randomly removing the incentive to do them? Sorry if I sound a bit miffed, but this is upsetting for me. Does the mission offer something else that I missed in the notes, or is it now... pointless?
