"interal graphics driver was forced to shut down" this makes the whole window hiccup and then come back on. Then after 30min it crashed my entire computer.

Yes I have the same problem. Same graphics card as well
Intel Pentium(R) P1600 @ 2.00GHz 2.00Ghz
Ram 4.00GB
Intel (R) HD Graphics
Screen blanks out repeatedly and eventually crashes the game and the computer freezes up. Seems to happen when I am in the new STFs. No error codes, nothing to tell me what is happening. I have to pull the power and restart to computer.
I have found that reducing the graphics seems to help a little. However I visited New Romulus and the problem happened again. And reducing graphics is just a temp solution.
I HOPE!!!!!
OK after updating my graphics drivers and reducing the graphics quality in game. I was able to play with it only sometimes blanking out on me. But not crashing. THIS IS NOT A FIX!!!
It's nice to see others finally reporting this and from both camps. This is an issue on both ATI and nVidia hardware and is related to AntiAliasing. I don't design graphics drivers but it's not the first time Cryptic's poor coding has caused issues like this. Get it fixed! Until then (probably going to be a few years until they bother), 2x AA minimizes this issue.

These folks appear to be talking about onboard graphics. I didn't know that stuff could even run the game! Totally different. I had no issues whatsoever running either on my old graphics card, a Radeon HD 5870 with 2 gig DDR, or with my new card, MSI GTX 680 SC. Mind you, for the amount of money I spent on those cards, I'd BETTER not have any problems!

The exact thing happens to me computer...but only in mission maps.
From a event log I got this: Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered
I got the same message. Have an Intel on-board graphics card too. But what really took the cake for me was the repeated crash on Tribble for New Romulus. It forced the computer to freeze up 30 secs then immediately shut down.
I am experiencing a simliar issue as well. My cpatain is currently stuck on Starbase 39. This is the third time Tribble has crashed my computer since season 7 was released for testing. The first 2 only led to a blue screen and reboot. The third time led to a system check.
I don't have the specs on hand, but I'm using an HP with intel i(3, 5, or 7) and bluray hd graphics.
Holodeck plays fine. Never had this issue. Definitely associated with Tribble.
Please create support tickets for this bug. Lets bug them back!!! Seriously though do create tickets and send them in, they need to know that this effects a lot of people. Yeah the only sort of solution is it o turn the graphic quality settings to zero. you still get the blanking but no crashing. And yes for me this only happens on tribble. Also I checked AA is turned off for me. So this really is them TRIBBLE up the coding.
Intel graphics cards are not gaming cards, never have been, and they don't meet requirements of any 3D games... I wouldn't be surprised if they were listed as not supported.
They are listed as being minimum specs. And I have been playing fine on Holodeck since I joined STO. This is very clearly a huge bug in Season 7. One that I hope they fix before Season 7 goes to Holodeck. Otherwise.....well...I may just have to find another game to play..which would be a shame.
And there are games that use 3d that this card can run. Sure not the newest games, but it does fine on others. And since it is doing fine on Holodeck....
And I have made certain that it is not my drivers or anything else to do with my system. Then it must be bad coding on STO's part.
One more thought occurred to me. The worst of the video driver crashing happened when I was playing with the new content. In the new sector of space or on one of the new STF's. I went through a cure space STF with no problems. Annnnd I don't think the graphics upgrade was that much. The two people I was playing with hardly noticed it and mentioned it exactly once. Sooo that tells me it was not that much of a upgrade in graphics and that this issue really is just bad coding.. and therefore a bug. And as I said I made sure that it was not my computer..I even risked bricking my computer flashing the ******n BIOS.

yes but.... up until now the card worked extremely well to play the game and still runs holodeck very well. ....STO could be at risk of losing lots of gamers who don't have the mega wads of $$$ to go out any buy a gaming video card. Up until now, my Intel HD Graphics worked awesome! Are you suggesting that now I need to get a new computer or card to play STO??? That's Bogus! My computer is barely 1 year old.
I can only hope the Devs discover and correct this problem. I hope the graphic gurus are already working on it, but I would feel much more comfortable if a Dev posted on this particular thread. I would hate not to be able to play my favorite game if in fact they are eliminating anything but specific video cards from being able to play the game. This looks to be the best Season ever coming up!
Well I got some movement on my support ticket for this issue. Mostly just a request for information. But I hope it helps them figure out what is going on and fix it.
Same Problem here... Been playing the game on this laptop since launch and not had a problem... on-board intel card... Holodeck seems to run fine... driver is as up to date.
Need a fix cause its insane in sector space, seems to happen about every 45 seconds or so... and during an STF about ever 15-20. Especially bad during the plasma energy bolts or during the polorize hull effect on borg or player.

The only thing that makes it slightly less bothersome that I have found is to turn the game graphics settings way done. But it is no fix and the game looks bad. I advise everyone to send in a support ticket about this problem! Get screenshots as well if you can that would help a bunch. Documenting this is very helpful and it will help them figure out what is going wrong.
Well Support has not gotten back to me yet so I don't know what is going on. They may just be ignoring me. However i am sure they have a ton of support tickets to get through so it is probably not that.
Ok so I just played on Tribble and the problem is mostly fixed. The screen still blanked on me. I did Vault Ensnared and the Starbase combat excercise to test this. both times it blanked on me a couple of times. Reducing the graphics quality to "Low" helped a little and reduced the number of times it blanked. It seems to do it when there is a text box popup on the screen or when I am in the middle of high intensity combat. Sorry I could not get any good screenshots of this happening. This is waaaay better then it was, but the problem is not totally fixed.

agreed. however, as mentioned, the problem is still happening when "dialogue" bubbles appear on screen every so often, and...the frame-rate is somewhat choppy, as opposed to Holodeck (where it looks perfect)
I got a reply back on my ticket and basically they just told me that I am SOL. SO hopfully you guys have better luck then I do. I was thinking of contacting Intel support to see if they had any ideas. Oh and support told me to play with the graphics settings...yeah that has not done much, though I will play with them some more.
Ok so my Anti-aliasing is off. But I still get this problem. In combat and I can't really tell what is causing it. I have set my game graphics to low and it still happens.
Ok so I just did one of my Undine missions that I have not yet finished "Fluidic Space" And no problem. I can't run the game at "Recommended" Anymore but "Low" worked fine. Anyone else have any trouble on the old content? Is it only Season 7 stuff? I have been testing it out with Starbase 234, does the problem happen there for you guys as well?
I also use an Intel integrated card. Works fine on Holodeck using settings closer to High Quality than High Speed, and yet frequent flickers on Tribble and twice had a Blue Screen of Death as a result; one on New Romulus and another in space combat with Tholians in a nearby system.
...except for playing Season 7 on Tribble, this laptop has NEVER had a Blue Screen of Death.
That is pretty impressive! So what have you tried? Does lowering the graphics settings help any? Does it only happen on the new content? Please go ahead and open a support ticket about it. They will most likely tell you it is your card that is no longer totally compatible with the game. But try and tell then that they seem to have a bug hiding behind a incompatibility problem.
Since season 7 was put on Tribble and now is live, I've had problems with the game going completely black screen even few moments and Windows 7 keeps giving me the error 'Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.' I have had no problems with graphics issues on this laptop i3, intel 2000 computer but now it does the same thing regardless of the set resolution, fullscreen or windowed or the detail settings set. STO S7 is the only program causing this issue. Seems that season 7 added graphics changes that hopefully can be resolved. I have updated to the latest Intel drivers as well and that does not solve the problem. The game has worked fine for me all the way to season 6.
