It creates a past/present version of your ship, only these are like a photonic fleet (they are weak and dont do much damage). It doesn't last very long... 30 secs and has a long cooldown...
But here's the really bad thing.
If the past version of your ship gets destroyed or takes heavy damage you take damage as well!
A lot of damage.
A called them in to help take out a tac cube and we destroyed it.
I was full health and full shields with an active RSP. My past version flew into the warp core explosion and was destroyed, and I took 30k damage direct to my hull (drpopping me to c.20% health)
Whilst this sounds like a cool idea in theory, in practice it just makes the destroyer really rubbish and its console is a joke. So I urge people to save their Lobi, and EC and not purchase it until the console is improved.
This. 4 science consoles is a lot of Field Generators.
Given that the Prime universe was a SV and the Mirror one an escort, I wish that only there was a Cruiser version from the 29th century Abramsverse...
Four Field Gens on a 'scort is kind of a liability though, unless you run something lame like TSS3 in that Lt. Com. Uni. You just don't have the heals to fill up a shield with that many hitpoints.

I love it, even when my younger self thinks he is all that and goes head first into battle....oh my young me so rash, never thinks
I have not yet died from it, just some hull heals and all is good again.
It's very similar to the recluse: the console suck hard and this ship is designed to use the one from the ship you get in lockboxes, but the ship itself is great. I guess that's the current design policy. The best ship is the lobi one and the ship able to make a good use of the lockbox ship console is the lobi one.
apparently people dont read tooltips on the console..... it specifically states that when using the manheim device any damage or healing your past self takes is passed on to you. so easy way is to find your past self after summoning.... its the one that appears infront of you, set focus on it and when it takes a lot of damage, toss eng team or other hull heals that work on allies on it.
also, the same works for you to your future self, any damage you take passes onto it, but so does healing.
for the record, i still use the console... if you know your dead, might as well as use it to at least delay the inevitable, if your lucky they pound your future self to smithereens first, meaning while you heal up your keeping your distraction alive longer.
plus, with the wells console and the set bonus, using it before your past self blows up will likely save your TRIBBLE from blowing up if you time it right.
a well informed person on our fleet forum made the post below. i don't have time here at work to search for the link, but perhaps you could find it.
"I made the decision to buy the bug since they are nerfing the Mobius in an upcoming patch (see the latest tribble notes). They're removing the 10% bonus defense, and +15 weapons power (they said these extra bonuses were unintentional), so the bug ship is once again superior, with it's 20 turn rate, 0.22 impulse modifier (fastest ship in the game), and 5 tac consoles."

Updated Mobius and Krenn Weapon power and default Defense.
Both ships were getting double inherent defense bonus and an extra +15 weapon power. This is now corrected.
says nothing about taking it away just getting rid of the double bonuses
Once you drop the console it's a fantastic ship to use to be honest. I've been fortunate enough to get the wells timeship as well and once you chuck the tumbler console in it's great fun.
I still been thinking about whether to get it or not. For my tac captain the boff layout just is absolutely horrible, it either will have to little tac abilities, or too much low tier tac abilities if you use a uni as a tac station. I could see it as a sci escort hybrid for my sci captain though as its the only 4 sci console escort and my sci uses less attack patterns so doesn't need as much tac stations. It could also be a good eng escort hybrid I guess.
Discussions have led me to understand that it pivots like an MVAE. This has kept me from buying it despite having the lobi for it and not really caring about the suicide console either way.

Isn't that the trade-off though? IIRC, your copy ships have the same weapon loadouts as your main ship, delivering more potential DPS than MVAM or Saucer Sep pets. It's just a risk you decide to take or not to take.
Still have my sights set on it. Just have to wait until then to see for myself.
As the clone ships do not share your weapons, consoles or abilities and with such risk in using it well it would be nice if it was a toggle. As long as you kept it on they would stay out but when you toggled it off it would be on a longer cool down...the risk of using it is great as with the dumb ai and explosions well. We have all been affected by it.
Or better yet, encode it to be an exact clone and have it and the future fly behind you and mimic your movements while in various formations?
No worries I only pilot the biggest ships and let people carry me on stf, albeit for season 7 I am now in a freighter, symbolic of all the doff'ing and afk'ing I will be doing.
I don't know what a console should be able to do for me to get a lockbox ship, probably unlock my own ship creator tool
Lucky for me I am a primadonna when it comes to design and I'd actually hate it if they released a lockbox ship I really wanted especially because of the console sets costing enough lobi for a second ship
it is a great console when used correctly. One big mistake is see people make with it is thinking it is a like Photonic fleet, or Fleet support where you use them as your "O ****" buttons, if you pop the Console at the start with full hull and shields 99% of the time you will be fine, even more so if you use your BO skills intelligently
I love the Manheim device, I think it's amusing to suddenly see my hull go from full to about 25% (never actually use it in STFs though) and then back to nearly full again (I'm an Engineer and I run an Engineering BOFF in the LtCmdr slot).
As for the copies? They are identical to the ship that comes out of the box - any aftermarket modifications you make are not reflected.
I tried launching it at the start of an STF a couple of times and watch in horror as my past self keeps getting one shoot. I finally did the sane thing and pulled that darn console. Why not make it that dmg doesn't carry over, these ships are from a splinter universe like the Shard and dmg doesn't carry over there.

LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?

i put the "suicide console" in my inventory so i don't run the risk of accidentally using it.

sad that it's getting nerfed though!

Even on it's own it's a real beast.

Either way - I like the Mobius very much. It's a way of dealing considerable damage with my sci.
But it won't cause a death in normal PvE.
In STFs and Borg REs, you either use it early in a fight, knowing it won't last quite long enough to get taken out by the explosion...
Or you die at the end of a fight. Big deal. You'd be out of combat a few seconds anyway between fights.
Also, if you have the Mobius and the Wells, the set bonus effect seems worth it even if you aren't using the Mobius console every cooldown.
All this says is that it's a lockbox ship with a few actual limits.
Or better yet, encode it to be an exact clone and have it and the future fly behind you and mimic your movements while in various formations?

I think damage carrying over is fair.
EV damage carrying over isn't.
Maybe just give them EV damage immunity.
