Give us better stuff to buy with it.

Don't reduce STF rewards, or make obtaining it more convoluted. Seriously.

    Or just new stuff. :D

could you explain your reasoning here? I don't really understand it.

Short and simple point -- it makes it tougher for new players to 'get on mah level!'
If that's confusing, it means to get on the same level as other high level players.
Also, not just for new players, for new characters.

    EDIT: Wrong quote
"You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: ' With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.' Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on we're all damaged. I fear that today..."

New characters, but especially new players, have to not only rank up to level50, which may not be easy for them, but also go through several different weapon systems if they want to be on the same level as the top players. It's not completely as easy as it is for you to get them as it is for the new players to get them.

You still haven't answered the real question... Why do they need to acquire several sets of gear in order?
original weapons -> The normal elite weapons -> The special campaign weapons (No trading) -> The special already bound weapons (no trading) -> old STF weapons -> New ? STF ? weapons
why would they need to get the campaign stuff at all? (just an example, most of your steps are equally baffling)

I'm not up to speed. What exactly (in its entirety) are the devs doing to reduce our dilithium intake?
The amount of Dil from STFs is lower in Season 7. I don't know of any other actual dil sources that are affected.

The STF rewards system is getting completely rebuilt into the Omega Reputation system. Tech drops are a thing of the past. As are boss loot bags. Now all of the mission rewards get dumped directly into your inventory like normal missions. Advancing in Omega Rep system requires you to collect Omega Marks by playing STFs and a variety of other Borg related missions(Such as Defera). The gear in the current STF store will be moved to a new store that is available in a tab of your character page. There's also a lot of new items that weren't in the old STF store. But you need to unlock items by turning in Omega marks first.

There's also a Romulan Rep store with Romulan flavored stuff.

The main complaint people have is that advancing in Rep and buying stuff from the Rep stores costs Dil.

The other big gripe is that some of the stuff related to acquiring Doffs has had price increases. General recruitment now cost 1k dil. The prices on the compactor were changed rather drastically. At present the cost is minimal. The current (but subject to change) prices on tribble's compactor are 1k, 2.5k, and 5k. Branch recruiting and uncompacting are still free.

I don't do STFs for Dilithium, so this doesn't affect me much at all. Good to know.

Rather than grind from scratch for new STF weapons, I am playing with the idea of using fleet equipment as an alternative. We dump tonnes of Dil and other resources into these fleet projects so I may as well make a use of them if I can. No idea how they'll fare though.

A lot of the fleet ground gear is borderline OP. You've got stuff like [Cap]x3 personal shields and [Dmg]x3 Sniper rifles(just examples). What the fleet store lacks is a variety of space weapons with [Acc]. So, yeah fleet gear is very usable in STFs.

Never said they must be acquired, what was being stated was the different strength levels of sets the game is introducing, there is another, stronger set being introduced, and another after that, which may or may not take longer for any new player to get adjusted to playing with the big boys. Is that not understandable?

And the breen set suits me well in PvP either way.

Personally, I would prefer if all the "sets" were equally viable. Abet for different reasons.
