Strange that this New Romulus appears so far away from Iota Pavonis Sector Block (original Romulus was there). Not only has Sela vanished. But it appears that her seat of power on Rator III (Psi Velorum Sector Block) has been usurped. Donatra's alternate capital (see Path to 2409) on Achernar Prime never has been mapped for STO. Or might the Romulans have recently renamed Achernar Prime to New Romulus?
(/\) Exploring Star Trek Online Since July 2008 (/\)
Technically, but since Nimbus III is supposed to be on the Neutral Zone.
Khitomer was Romulan-occupied, but retaken by the Klingons, and Klingons were taking over Romulan Territory, well to me 2+2 =/= 4 with how Cryptic designed that map.
Are they now tossing away their own storyline now?
And the Romulan Star Empire capital is Nova Roma in Rator III, the Rator system happens to be on the Federation part of the Psi Velorum Sector Block so not only you are rather wrong about New Romulus but also your usual tirade about all thing Cryptic misses me the mark because not only New Romulus is just a Romulan world but also their actual Capital is on the wrong side of the Neutral Zone.
Rator was bad enough becoming the new Romulan Captial and on the edge of Federation space, but this "New Romulus" is even more stupid, being either in Klingon Territory or on the Edge of Klingon Territory (which they are currently not on friendly terms).
So I honestly like to know WTF the Devs are thinking. I doubt even the Pakleds would even do such a stupid thing in moving their capital on the edge of their border with factions they hated for centuries.
This all looks fantastic, but could we see the whole galaxy map to see how this even fits in? We know it's between Klingon & Romulan space and the Fed's touching it, but i'd like to see the whole picture, maybe even with the opportunity for you guys to tidy the Galaxy Map a bit? Right now it's less a map and more of a random patchwork of boxes that don't always make sense to newer players

Just out of curiosity how many Reman XII Sets has The Vault Event spit out to players so far? You surely have statistics on that?
Because i rarely get to play that Event and when i do i get no data logs for it because 80% of the PUGs fail the mission itself.
I am unable to get Datalogs out of this Event at any decent rate, 1 Datalog per Hour is just not good enough if the Event just lasts one hour and if you have 11 Characters and are still working on the first Set after all this time, thats just no fun.
ok...
New Sector Block yay!
What about DOFF Assignments in that new Sector Block?
Anything special planned here?
Any new Chains or special flavored Assignments? Or at least just a pack of NEW Assignments, anything new to look forward too here?
Or will it just be more of the same old random assignments just to have something there?
OR worse will the UI just be empty, like in the Fleetbase Maps?
A new Sector Block without it's own DOff flavor would not feel complete to me.
I hope there is something epic planned here, not just another boring DOff Pack with new silly Pay 2 Win Active Roster Powers (thats the last thing i want to see right now).
The Enterprise-C was defending Narendra III. The battle at the end of "Yesterday's Enterprise" in which the alternate Enterprise-D was destroyed took place in the Archer system.
My bad.
I was watching TNG: "Sins of the Father" recently, and had the Khitomer Massacre on the mind.

I really don't want to do anymore stupid grinding, STFs and Fleet Marks is already too much as it is. And these two things are really preventing me from doing the things that I want to do in the game. And because of that lack of fun, it's made STO into a job.
I don't know why they making more timegating when it's massively unpopular. Given bad decisions in the last few months, its like they are purposely running the game into the ground than building it up to be something fun.
So we've got the Suliban and the Acamar systems added to game. Two new races to come then maybe?
But how can Romulans be colonizing the Acamar system when, if its the same Acamar from TNG, it already has an indigenous population.
It's the same Acamar. And should be well within Federation space. So guess the Romulans that are there are refugees.
Not sure what Cryptic is planning, but the Suliban homeworld is supposed to uninhabitable. So unless there been some miracle in restoring the ecology of the planet in the last 100 years, it's likely going to be a place that we need EVA suits.

Bad decisions that could be forced on them for all we know, courtesy of PWE's 'influence' on the game.
All of which started when PWE bought them. Doesn't really seem like a coincidence to me...

Looks interesting but terrible map position choice since we have no obvious and easy transwarp near this sector. It may be time for a duty officer diplomatic/marauding T5 reward with a transwarp to this sector.
Also, where's the nebula attached to this sector? With a new colonial chain and a new support doff!

Looks interesting, but so did Season 6 at first, before realising it's just a pointless shmup grind and total dilithium sink...
I just hope these new missions are going to reward dilithium or other worthwhile items or currency, similarly to Deferi sector or Eta Eridani dailies. Otherwise I don't see myself doing these more than a couple of times and forgetting about them completely, just like Nukara or all the Fleet missions, which I didn't do in months...

All playing those missions during the featured timeframe does is give you bonus rewards, not cut you out of content for not playing during a certain hour.
Missions in the Tau Dewa Sector Block are available to players who have reached Vice Admiral or Lieutenant General Rank, and bonus rewards will be awarded if played during special timeslots found on the hourly event calendar

Looks like there will be several places for EVA suits. Galorndon Core, a geologically unstable, barely habitable planet where prolonged exposure of humanoids to the intense magnetic fields result in synaptic breakdown... I'd say I'd want a EVA suit there, even if they aren't required...

Some other issues of note:
Carraya System - should be in Romulan space
Archer System (with Archer IV) should be near Sol one would think, not in Klingon space
Nimbus seems to be well out of place as it was located in the Neutral Zone and founded after the Federation-Klingon War (So I doubt it would be that far into Romulan Space, even with the Romulans participating)
Maybe the Tholians are involved with it? I guess it depends on just what "uninhabitable" entails.
So what you're saying is, Tholians time traveled into the past to ruin the planet, so they get Archer involved in the Temporal War, which in time helped found the Federation of Planets, which makes them a threat to themselves by thwarting their plans?
