You realize that there will be a ton of them out there once it hits the cstore right? I mean all i ever hear is Vesta this and Vesta that. Everyone (except me) is going to flying them especially since that will probably be a cstore ship.

LOL, I won't be flying one either. I just got a Fleet Saber the other day and I am loving that ship. Especially since I now have a build that has some power to it :)

Probably just a "clay-model"... We use them to preview-purposes in 3D modeling all the time.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear, I was complaining against to have one ICONIC ship given to a small portion of the game population, which are the ones with 1k days.

    That's all.

It was clarified above that is not the case, so fine by me since I want to buy it.

You mean the small portion that payed for a premium service? Pay HUNDREDS of dollars into the game, and then complain.

Excuse me, I can complaint all i want, and for your information i am not a noobie here, I have paid for a year and a half before coming to F2P, also i buy zen every single month...

In any case, being a LTS does not give you more rights to any other player, F2P or not.

Gekooooo.... don't be that way... :(

Can we have a hint? Please can we have a hint? An itty-bitty hint? A tiny-itsy-bitsy-witsy hint?

Erm, firstly, Gecko is the biggest troll on the dev team. This is what he does among not knowing the game very much that he works on. ;)

Yea right... forget it... beyond their abilities.

That would be EPIC, but as you say, way beyond their capabilities.. :(

I hope to god that it is not yet another Cruiser. The vesta will be sadly, as nothing that big could ever be an escort/sci ship hybrid.

The 1000 day ship should be some epic escort like the Mobius, but much much better! Drool.....
In a game wholly cantered around "dps iz all that matterz", nothing else will do..

The Vesta is confirmed as a science vessel. (Keep in mind, the Atrox was as well.)

    It's a large sci-vessel with cannons.

Vesta-smeshta. Just make a "J" for us so it can serve as a mobile "starbase"! ;)

With 8 days to go, I'd like to have a better idea about the ship variant included with the 1000-day vet rewards. ;)

Actually it has been on the table.. But Cryptic miscalculated its scale (surprised?), and felt it would fill up an entire map, so the idea was dropped...

it might have been , but as a playable ship ? npc maybe , but something that big as a playable unit would be unusuable in the current setup of things

Well, the original thing in the engineering reports was just Enterprise-J, then a ship based on the Enterprise-J but not, then an intermediate step between the E and the J, then the F, which eventually became the Odyssey. Engineering reports were full of brainstorm product, though, and a ton of it never actually went anywhere for good or bad reasons. Just being on the table isn't worth much, really.

But, yeah, not just unwieldy to fly, but I think it's big enough to have a tangible disadvantage. It's about four times the length of the Sovereign. On top of which its proportioned closer to the Galaxy, the saucer is wider than it is long.

That's about (over?) half the length of B'ger and much wider, bigger than a transwarp gate, and those are already big enough to break firing arcs so you can fire dual cannons and an aft torpedo at the same time. On top of which they're immobile, so you don't have to really worry about something nearly as long as your firing range trying to maneuver around you.

    Heh. Enterprise-J. :D

I'm picturing it being used sort of like the Executor Class Super Star Destroyer in Empire at War. You summon it to warp in for support, and it becomes the stationary center of a battle happening all around it. No way would it work flown by human players, but as a massive ship off in the distance, launching fighters and firing long-range weapons as supporting fire, it could work.

Well we DID see in Ent, that it wasn't moving much... In fact, it's more likely to act mostly as a battle station during conflict (considering we had Prometheuses and Dauntless classes flying around the Enterprise J).

KDF - Rusty red Volkswagen Beetle like cruiser with twin warp nacelles ( with one that never works ) and a random back firing warp core that scares the living willy's out of any FED's lurking behind, and reaching 0 to warp one in 34 minutes........if your crew is out pushing it.

Console's - A Antimatter/Matter injector gear box that gets stuck in 2nd and has no reverse and a rear viewer that always keeps swiveling to the left.

FED - Blue 70's Volvo sedan style looking escort, with 3 warp nacelles, top speed of 1/4 Impulse in the fast sector lanes and hits Warp 30 as it passes through any red lights and Tribble Crossings.

Console's - A non-stop right blinking turn signal and headlights that can't be turned off or dimmed.

I know it's SPECULATION...........but I'd seriously slam down 100 Zen for a key if they was in the Lock boxes. =3

The Fed one would probably be a PINTO...

It would be neat if the Enterprise-J were part of a Time Travel Featured Episode, in which we find ourselves INSIDE it...

Not there to actually fly it, but perhaps to help save it from a Temporal Invasion Force, during the Battle of Procyon.

So all the Klinks would need to do in PvP is bump it in the rear of the ship and watch it explode? ;)

What if we got a SHUTTLE from the Enterprise-J and it was the size and power level of a T5 standard ship?

Stands to reason a shuttle from the J (being two miles long) probably would be more than a match for most present day T5 ships in size and power.
