Cryptic gets the money from the keys, not the lockboxes; if you want to deprive them, you'll need to figure out a way to delete your Dilithium instead of using it to buy Zen. Perhaps do all the fleet Special Projects.

As usual wrong conclusion... I don't use the dilithium exchange... And the Keys would be useless without boxes...

So you see... My argument is still valid.

Every box not used, is a key not spend, is money not earned...

Really not my problem if you can't see that.

As long as whatever comes out of the boxes isn't a game breaker who cares. If people have RL money to spend on vanity items so be it. This game only exists as long as it turns a profit, the day it slips into the red you can kiss it goodbye.

I usually sell them on the Exchange as I figure they have wasted my time during my adventures by popping up instead of something else I can use or sell.

So thanks for the double and triple digits. Please try harder so it goes into the 4 and 5 digits!

Loosing money = Having money that then dissapears without rewards

Not getting money = Not having money that they potentially could have had.

    It's a very basic difference.

When this little lockbox event is over and you can't get the tholian lockboxes anymore I plan on buying stacks off of the exchange and discarding all of them.

The faster the lockboxes leave the economy, the faster the value of my mirror ships will rise.

"... indicator of how unpopular they actually are"

    That made me laugh.

You think too highly of yourself if you think you will ever get noticed...

The only indicator of their success is if they make money or not - since they are still here it would seem to deem any discussion invalid.

F2P, lock boxes and cash items would appear to be the future if you have been keeping up with current events.
In STO you are actually lucky you can grind your way to any cash item, that's usually not the case with F2P.

That being said I never got anything even midly good from a box and if you think about it, they are the least vauluable item in the game, since you can't use them without spending they are worth less than zero

I do feel sorry for the guys who spend hundreds of dollars on keys to get a ship but if they are happy with their choice and it keeps business open it's all good

Actually it's an act of defiance... Cryptic has made it clear that they will not make the lockboxes go away. Well I've made THOUSANDS of them go away.

I would be kind of funny if in Cryptic's act of defiance they wrote some code around your account that everywhere you went in a ship or out of a ship Lock-boxes would be raining all around you- now that would be funny to see!

That would explain why lock box prices on the exchange are sky high... I saved a whole bunch of Cardassian boxes from when they were first around. Now I can sell ten stacks for 299999 ec. As for the Tholian boxes, I discard them and couldn't care one bit less. It feels so good! :D
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

I stashed all my old Cardassian and Ferengi lockboxes waiting for the prices to go up. My golden opportunity came when I sold them yesterday for an unbelievable profit. :D Amazing how people still buy those boxes despite they're basically worthless.
