Graphics (system!) settings messed up after client crash

I got the apparently 'normal' crash when I tried to alt-tab out, but the extremely annoying thing this is that the graphics settings (brightness/contrast/colours/gamma, no idea which ones, but definitely not just brightness or gamma) didn't get reset to the carefully set system values.
I'll be happy to list my specs if that'll help reproduce/fix the actual issue, but of course my first question would be whether there's a chance the client may have still stored the old values somewhere I could get them back?

    I exited the game once after the server didn't respond for a good 5min and my desktop was going ape. Screen was flickering, icons were disappearing and reappearing, screen was pixelated with white boxes. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Logging off and back on and restarts wouldn't fix it either. Eventually I just recalled my last rollback point and that fixed it. I hate having to roll it back so I hope it doesn't happen again but, right now, it doesn't even matter as I really can't play STO due to the freezes, crashes and server not responding errors. I don't know what the deal is right now with STO but I'm glad I haven't put money into as I'm about to just drop it entirely.
