The last thing we know for sure comes from Path to 2409, final chapter in volume 29: After Starfleet lost contact with Starbase 236 in late September, it sent the U.S.S. Enterprise-E to investigate.

There's no single word mentioned so far in the game about the fate of the Enterprise-E. If you know more, show me proof.

No proof, just thought I heard it somewhere. But Starfleet wouldn't commission a new Enterprise if they thought the E was still out there.

Many of these projects seem like they should be combined (particularly if you intend to keep them at the outrageous price of 200K Dilithium). The KDF Banners should have been in with the Statues. The Fed Banners should have been in with the columns and plants. The Conference Table should have been in with the pictures.

I guess the only real saving grace is that they haven't gotten so greedy and/or lazy as to make each individual picture a 200K Dilithium special project with 2 week intervals

How about the next Featured Project:

Fed = A conference table with seats you can actually sit in & more sitting in the bar area
KDF = A bat'leth ring you can challenge NPC's to a fight with (just for fun) & Orion girl waitresses

    Just thinking out loud :D

Wasn't the fate of the Enterprise E revealed in a recent issue of the Official Star Trek Magazine?

Don't get me wrong, it looks very nice... (The Fed thing. The KDF stuff has been unimpressive piled upon unimpressive, but I guess that suits the theme of the faction.)

I have to say though, these special projects are a bit of a disappointment. Mainly because, despite looking nice, I don't understand why the history of ships named Enterprise should be relevant to my fleet, any fleet, or indeed, have any place outside the current Enterprise or a decommissioned museum ship that's part of the series. While I get why fans of the show would go and gush about all things Enterprise, why would the in-universe Starfleet share that obsession?

And yet, if we don't get these projects, we may be left with empty spots in our starbases in the end. How bad that is, I don't know. I'm torn between agoraphobia and visions of a cluttered mess or paraphenalia that would make even the most avid hoarder weep in despair and seek professional help. Or worse, we'll find out there's another set of pictures that can go up there, that may be more appropriate, for us to buy after already having put up the Wall of Fandom in haste and ignorance.

Now I know, with enough patience we'll find out eventually. There's no way you're not going to rerun these special projects. But frankly, I'm not a very patient guy in matters like these, and I'm sick of the guessing game.

So, a hint or two would be nice.

HMS Enterprise (I believe the one from Archer's ready room in ENT:United)

That portrait was displayed throughout the show, not just that one episode. ;)

I like this project, the only thing is it is assumed that each ship with a historic name had it's own lineage wall, so it doesn't really make sense for a starbase to have a Enterprise lineage wall. This would have been more fitting if it was included in the Enterprise-F interior. Maybe a history of Starfleet wall displaying different ships like the Intrepid Class, Defiant Class, NX Class would be more appropriate.

Yes and no. We know that Data take an action with the ship that stopped ended the Undine War. And that Data was able to get ship's crew back to safety. Nothing about what he did or the fate of the Big E-E.

Fair enough, I just recall him talking about it in that episode. Another possible (less obvious) mistake is there were multiple sailing ships named Enterprise, both in RL and in ST lore. Along with the one depicted in his quarters, the HMS Enterprize which was depicted in the opening credits. Why is this one missing as well?

To my original point though, I'm still in shock how is it possible that they missed the most important ship in the history of the Enterprise? This is like a stab in the heart for a game based on this IP. Pictures of the carrier are featured in almost every mention of Enterprise lineage in Star Trek for crying out loud. Yet despite this omission they still have the presence of mind to put in XCV-330.

I won't be doing this project in pure protest of that big mistake. I thought it was a great idea otherwise.

May we have a screenshot of the "upgraded" transporter area for the KDF project? Because 200,000 dilithium for a couple of flags nobody will even notice is way too much, and on the basis of the current screenshot everyone in my fleet agreed not to start the project at all.

Seriously guys, 200k should not be the flat price for every single special project. The reward should be proportional to the investment. Granted these are pretty, but I'm still burned about the potted plants.

I won't be doing this project in pure protest of that big mistake. I thought it was a great idea otherwise.

When we were deciding which ships to include in this set of images it became clear quickly that we did not want to include EVERY ship from Earth history named "Enterprise." This was not a mistake, but a conscious decision to focus on certain representative samples from the history of that name.

To your first point, one of the tall ships named HMS Enterprise is included in this set of images - it's visible in that screenshot on the far left. I did some research on all the sailing ships named "Enterprise" and decided to go with a British frigate built in 1775 - the decision to include this particular ship was mainly a nod to the opening credits of the the TV show Enterprise and to increase the diversity of the ships represented a bit more. There were a few United States Ships named "Enterprise", but they were smaller ships - I felt the mission of the 18th century frigate, a fast, powerful and independent command, was more appropriate to the name's legacy than any number of the other manifestations from that era.

On to your point about the CV-6, the original "Big E" and the most decorated ship in the US Navy. Ultimately I decided to include CVN-65 over CV-6 for a couple of major reasons. The primary reason was that the CVN-65 Enterprise was the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. She was (and is) a unique and revolutionary design and important milestone in the history of propulsion, naval or otherwise. While the CV-6 had an unmatched record in battle, I felt the technological revolution of the CVN-65 made it more likely that she'd be commemorated by Starfleet, an organization hundreds of years removed from single-planet international conflicts. Secondly, the CVN-65 is actually a setting for action in a Star Trek adventure (STIV, although another ship stands in for her during filming).

While I agree that it's an incredible ship with an important place in history, I'd also dispute your claim that CV-6 has been represented in every depiction of Enterprise lineage. Both the observation lounge on the Enterprise D and Archer's ready room cherry pick their Enterprises, and in both celebrations of Enterprise lineage they chose CVN-65 over CV-6. (You can tell it's the CVN-65 by the shape of the deck and the distinctive square shape of the island.)

It's also worth noting that for the observation lounge of the 1701-E, they don't include models of any pre-space Enterprises at all!

Obviously in a project like this, everyone has their favorites - but even if yours didn't make it in I hope you get a chance to see the set and enjoy it in the game.

Another question from this thread I noticed: The Enterprise C is present in this series. To dispel any rumors, the art for that panel was created based on a screenshot from "Yesterday's Enterprise."

Well I have the new Starbase Project completed. Looks nice but there are a few things that look "off".

The top boarder of most of the ships are cut off.

While there is a lot of space beside the HMS Enterprise but the other side of the new Enterprise - F and flag ship of the fleet is put behind a potted plant.

Pretty much what I thought when I saw the line-up was that there's one from each era of innovation.
    • HMS Enterprise - age of sail
    • Enterprise CVN-65 - age of nuclear/steam
    • Space Shuttle Enterprise - first space-born/jet powered
    • 'rings' Enterprise - ion drive/impulse?
    • NX-O1 - warp drive
The obvious technological differences then get smaller it seems, and possibly becomes more a case of lineage.

I'm not worried. I thought it was funny. I couldn't decide if the oddy was behind the plant because the starbase personnel was ashamed of the new flag ship or if it was a case of a lazy contractor who started putting them up and realized after that he put them up wrong.

    Disappointed.

First off, I really do not think these projects are worth 200,000 Dilithium. (I'm forking the bill for my Fleet and it's killing my life savings in a severe way). I really wish the Dev Team cared more about Small Fleets and scaled the cost according to size or give us alternate means.

    As for this latest project:

Pictures are clipped at the top.

Font's are not Consistant (clearly visible on with the Enterprise-C), the HMS Enterprise text at the bottom is not legiable.

The Enterprise-F is covered by a potted plant.

From the HMS Enterprise to the NX are really well done. HOWEVER, the Enterprise-C is an obvious copy and paste job from Memory Alpha (don't see anyone giving them credit), and the other Enterprises are cheap in-game screenshots. Given the Enterprise-C, I would've liked it if you got good Screenshots from the TV shows and the movies.

EDIT: Just discovered that the pictures of the H.M.S. Enterprise, the CVN-65, and the Space Shuttle Entprises are all copies of lithographs!

    Isn't this a major copyright's issue?

Forgetting the possible IP issues for a moment, because I don't care about them: Didn't anyone, anywhere, throw this up on a live run someplace before it was released? I know there has to be an internal testing server running someplace.

At least, I hope there is.

There's absolutely no excuse for the misplaced picture frames, blurry fonts and pictures. It's like the dev responsible didn't even bother to look at his/her work. Pure laziness that cost us 200k dilithium. This sort of thing can not continue, the higher ups need to look at what management or processes allowed this sort of sloppy work to hit the live servers and address it.

We're not talking about the accidental breakage of one system by changes to another, which does seem to happen with virtually every patch they release. I'd love for that to not be the case so often. This particular release however isn't broken. It's not bugged. It was simply done with no apparent care as to the quality of the work. I'm starting to think that maybe Cryptic disbanded their QA department and that's what we are now.

    Honestly, who knows.

If I was to equate this to the Foundry, it would only take a few minutes to place, view, realign, until it was perfect.
