I have been playing the game fine for months and suddenly I try to log on tonight and It gets to the cryptic loading screen and loads up about 25 % then crashes to desktop and says the following...
Oops! your cryptic appliaction has crashed. To help us out, please indicate what was going on at the time of the crash, while we gather information.
Cant seem to find a solution to this. I have downloaded internet explorer 9, I have also reinstalled and repatched the game and I have verified the files but it still comes up with the same error messege.
Try starting the game in Safe Mode via the Launcher (Options > Safe Mode). This will reset your graphics options back to minimum settings and this may allow you to get back in-game.
The crashes happened before I intalled IE9, I installed it because in another post someone siad to update it becuase the launcher uses explorer and the files may have been corrupt.
I actually do have team viewer but as far as Im aware havnt used it. does it cause a problem? How do I fix it?
Will uninstall it when I get home from work today and let you know if it manages to sort it but to be honest I dont even think it installed its just the installer I got sitting on the desktop incase I need it. But will check and see and get back to you.
I had made a post with the same problem, except i can't patch or anything. As soon as i try to launch the game it will crash. It's stuff like this that keeps me from going Lifetime.
Ok I deleted team viewer and launched star trek, there was a new patch to download so I did but still the same error. Really starting to **** me of now, as far as im aware I have done nothing since it was working to make it not work. Really have no idea whats causing this. Do you suggest i try and resinall windows 7? or is there anything else I can try to fix this.
I have same problem, I wasnt playig for a while and now i get Error ticket ID: 12441392
WTF!?!?!?
I was traying REINSTALL and COPY working game and nothing....
SO ANYONE HAVE SAMO F***ckin IDEAPLEAS HELP.....THX!

Did the crashes start before or after IE 9 was installed? You may want to try reverting that to IE 8 instead. Are you running TeamViewer by chance?
Thanks that seems to have been the culprit (TeamViewer). As long as that's disabled (even with IE 9 installed) the launcher finally lets me log in now.
I solve problem with that...but I disable TW services, just to be sure !! BUT it still works..the TW I mean...
The TW run normaly and I can enter the GALAXY !!!
THX for help!

using Teamviewer version: 6.0.10194
Follow these steps to fix the issue:
1) Bring up Teamviewer
2) Go to "Extras" (top-righthand side of the interface)
3) Select "Options"
4) Select "Advanced" (all the way down on the lefthand side)
5) Click the "Show Advanced Options" button
6) Find "QuickConnect Button" option and click on the "Configure" button for it
7) There is a blank to add programs that you wish to disable the QuickConnect button for. In that blank you need to put "Star Trek Online.exe" (without the quotes) and click the "Add" button.
8) Click "Ok" to close configure window.
9) Click "Ok" to close options window.
10) Leave Teamviewer running in the taskbar as usual.
I had the same problem, closing Teamviewer helped. But the solution to this problem is not uninstalling the Teamviewer but making the game which works with it ;> Developers get to the work! ;]
I have had same problem all day and just thought as someone (forgot who sorry) posted overlay and I thought hmm could this be DisplayFusion i am using and I have disabled it and all working great so far :-)
I dont even have team viewer or any form of overlay program like that!
I also have a different error code! :mad:I really want to know how to fix it because it is really annoying!

I have been wanting to play Star Trek Online Again For Ages But everytime i try, I get to the cryptic loading screen and about 23% of the way through loading then the thing crashes with the Cryptic Error Oops!
Find a file and delete it, any old file will do, but remember the smaller the faster this will go. What you're doing is forcing the patcher to verify and then download the file you deleted including any other file that might be corrupt or otherwise damaged. This should fix your issue but if not, let me know, I'll see what I can dig up.

Possible Xfire causing STO crash
Xfire Crashes Star Trek Online
Overlay = Anything that displays over top of the game visually. Example(s): Fraps FPS overlay, X-Fire In game overlay.
There are others, but as I don't use them I can't describe them.

Hello lorianreynolds!
Please navigate to the following folder on your harddrive:
C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs

Been playing since launch.
