Good lord I enjoyed reading that... I have no input for it though except that I'll never be able to think of Ackbar without thinking of Sollvax's comment.
Bah, this is silly. We all know both sides would loose to the ships in Babylon 5. A single beam from a Whitestar would slice both a Star Destroyer and a Sovereign in half with one shot. And do it while doing a looping roll, for extra style points.
And who needs either Klingons or Sith. When you got the Narn on your side?
in all honesty the empire probably wouldn't even bother with the federation... the federation controls such a tiny insignificant area it wouldn't be worth bothering with... in the SW galaxy there are private companies who control more space... the Corporate sector which was just a bunch of corporations controlled 30,000 systems and a decent portion of a spiral arm and the empire pretty much just ignored them... same with the Hapans and the Hutts
tho the federation controlling a tiny portion of the galaxy is by design... ST has always been about exploration and there isn't much of that going on nor is it very exciting to do it when you already control a majority of the galaxy

What!
How could any of them stand up to the Dalek Empire?
EXTERMINATE!!
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'...I can tell you that we're not in the military and that we intend no harm to the whales.' Kirk: The Voyage Home
'Starfleet is not a military organisation. Its purpose is exploration.' Picard: Peak Performance
'This is clearly a military operation. Is that what we are now? Because I thought we were explorers!' Scotty: Into Darkness
'...The Federation. Starfleet. We're not a military agency.' Scotty: Beyond
'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor
'...Starfleet could use you... It's a peacekeeping and humanitarian armada...' Admiral Pike: Star Trek
I would like to see a no holds bar bare knuckle cage match to the death between JarJar and Neelix tho... so long as after the match we execute the winner
what i like about star wars is the greater continuity that results out of george lucas exclusive rights on the franchise. He has a say in anything and like that it rarely contradicts itself like star trek does in nearly every voyager episode.
CBS has some specialists for the franchise, but it seems they don't do quite a good job in my opinion. The writers of the shows rarely looked into the technical manuals...or just losely interpret it.
Kirk traveled accross the entire galaxy...the enterprise D did nearly the same accross the quadrant.
continuity also goes overboard when time travel plots are done...plenty of those in trek.
still it seems star trek is closer to real science, although way off in certain cases.
So, in my opinion, star wars has the better thought out universe and story...but trek feels more like "that could be done in future"

Good times.
The Original USS enterprise on several occasions crossed distances that make the Entire star wars galaxy look like a fish pond
The Next gen enterprise did it too
Janeway being a sad sack was not capable of it
