I know. That's why the solution the devs would be ready to accept are:
- An UI change
- Removing the fleet doff feature
The second one is the easiest to achieve. But I'm almost certain that they will never allow the fleet doffs to be used in the starbase projects.
Third solution: Put it back the way it was. Sorry you'd no longer be able to exploit people looking for crazily over-priced "common" doffs, but you'll get over it.
My actual preferred solution would be to change the projects from skill-specific (security officer, sensor officer) to discipline specific (tactical, science). It would return DOFF prices on the exchange back to a normal, non-inflated point and would make recruitment missions more likely to produce useful DOFFs instead of TRIBBLE DOFFs.
But either way, Huzzah! Its working as intended.

I don't mind, I have stopped selling whites, it's like doing microtransactions, it's tedious, and white doffs are worth nothing atm. It's almost free. 150k for a tac doff is laughable. It used to be 800. There is no more profit in whites anymore.
I tried to explain why your dream wouldn't happen: money. It's weird you can't understand that hard fact.

You haven't actually explained anything. And you should just stop trying. You want DOFFs to be special because you are a DOFFer. I get that.
Those of us trying to advance our projects want to be able to convert our grind time (fleet marks converted to fleet credits) into useful DOFFs for our projects. We complained. Cryptic heard. Cryptic instituted FLEET DOFFs. Then, after a week, Cryptic decides to unilaterally change their functionality (being able to use them in Fleet Projects) without mentioning it in either Tribble patch notes or Holodeck patch notes. When this waspointed out, the only response was "working as intended."
Further, they have now made every DOFF purchase on the exchange a potential booby trap where maybe the doff works for a project...maybe it doesn't.
If you can't understand why those of us who find that unacceptable aren't happy, then nothing I or anyone else can say is going to help you. This isn't the thread you are looking for. Move along. Move along.
and, as always, remember that this is working as intended.
Comments
as for "warfare specialists"
those need to stack
so you wind up with ONE warfare specialist slot with all 57 of the little pests sat in it
