We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance, at about 5pm PDT, to apply a new update.
ST.20.20120812b.8
General:
- Fleet Mark Boosts are now available for purchase on Fleet Starbases!
- Visit your Operations Quartermaster to find the items for sale on your store.
- These boosts do not need to be provisioned, and are available without running any special unlock projects.
- Each boost will provide you with a 20% bonus on your Fleet Marks, up to a total of 100 Fleet Marks earned.
- A minimum of 1 will be awarded in cases where fractions would result.
- The price per boost is 15,000 Fleet Credits.
- 5,000 of which you'll make back by donating the bonus Fleet Marks!
- Updated Polarized Tetryon weapons so they proc as frequently as intended.
- Resolved an issue that was preventing the procs on some Phased Tetryon weapons from functioning properly.
- Fleet Leaderboards now update correctly when players contribute multiple Duty Officers at once.
- Adjusted the sizing of the career selector window so that the text that accompanies the career is easier to read.

they still wont hit anything though
patchnote.
Why not? NPC's have a very low Bonus defense
Does this apply to data samples too? I believe the same error was occurring with those as well.

*weeps with joy*
Yeah still waiting for this.
In case anyone on the dev team is reading: muting someone means they are silenced forever.
You can kick them from the channel, re-invite them to the channel, they can log off, log back on, do the dougie for 15 minutes straight.
None of it will allow you to un-mute them.
So essentially 10k fleets creds for 100 marks. Interesting.
This should further aid smaller fleets nicely. Small numbers of players with lots of fleet creds but low on marks.
Along with the fleet doffs that's two of the major resourcing issues dealt with for smaller fleets. Now, if we can just have something done about dilithium amounts and other commodities amounts...
to bad tet has the most usless proc against npcs. have fun with these all you captain kirks
Update
They can be posted on the exchange and still wont contribute after being bought.

That's pretty concerning.
These DOFFs need to have their "Fleet" status listed somewhere if they can be bought from the exchange only for the buyer to be confused as to why they can't donate their purchase to their SB.
When will we see the saucer separation for the dreadnought Al Rivera promised us before Stoked ended and tweeted a picture of?
Ouch.. if we can't donate the fleet DOFFs the white ones are worthless.
No, this isn't a retroactive fix.
And it's possible your leaderboard scores are so far off because of fleet credit boosts, too. The additional credits provided by the FC boost do not count toward the leaderboards.
That's working as intended.
Which channels are people in where they can't be unmuted?
So, what pray tell is the point? Glad I haven't wasted any of my Fleet Credits on them. Now I have absolutely nothing to spend my Fleet Credits on until T5 (2-3 years from now). Thanks Cryptic!
Gonna make people afraid to buy DOFFs off the Exchange too... Good thinking...
What? Guys, you need to think this better!

I have to kind of agree... And with no way to tell which are bought this way on the Exchange you have developed a whole new way for players to rip other players off. No one needs a common DOFF for anything BESIDES the Fleet Projects. Truly a saad saaaad move. If you want to say that donating these guys does not generate "Fleet Credits" so as to attempt to prevent someone from making a somewhat endless turn around then FINE so be it but making them unusable is obnoxious.
Hmm - this is a REALLY REALLY bad idea, then. I'm willing accept that the availability of White level Doffs is intended to be a major gate-keeper on fleet star bases. I mean, I disagree with it, but I can accept that it is intended. But I cannot imagine a world in which it is a good idea to allow DOFFs that can't be used in fleet projects to be sold on the exchange with no label etc. Really, this is the kind of change that NEEDS to be documented clearly on the item in question - consider the frustration people already feel when they buy Klingon DOFFs and find that they can't use them on Fed assignments (Trust me, that STILL happens to people!).
Now imagine how frustrating it is when you buy a DOFF that you can't use for fleet projects, but there is no indication ANYWHERE as to why that's the case. You can't even use the active roster powers as a guide, since (I assume) DOFFs from the reinforcements packs still work, so you have no solid way of knowing if the power is from that or the fleet store. Unless the expectation is that we will memorize all the possible names for the fleet officers, there needs to be a great deal of UI work done to make it clear which DOFFs are and are not acceptable for Star bases before this change goes live.
I think. I don't know the real reason.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
I dont see the point myself.
i can understand removing the dilithium and recruitment xp as that is a very quick way to earn dilithium but not being able to add them to the huge number of base projects just seems harsh and too quite frankly too confusing.
this was a really helpful feature for small fleets, and its still not guaranteed as the doff is random. if anything it just created another sink which is fine. now i cant imagine i will ever buy white or green doffs from the vendors again. i could sell them on the exchange and that could make me EC while forcing down the prices but that leads to the whole confusion about what doffs are usable in starbase construction.
at worst there has to be some way to distinguish them from other doffs at quick glance especially as its been this way for a week. this kind of thing really should have been nailed down before they were added to the game.
if you are going to do this you might as well at least go the whole way and make them bound. it will solve any exchange confusions and then people can use them for doffing only as perhaps what you intended.
Then you might as well remove the starbase DOFF guy.
If that is truly working as intended, then you guys need to seriously rethink your intentions.
Or maybe your intention was to just p*** off everyone in a fleet of less than 20 people? If so, then congrats - your intentions have been realized.
We have two in 'Accolades'.
I think that is overkill, I can understand making them not grant dilithium and cxp upon dismissal but not re-contributeable that is just mean. I guess we see how many people this will alienate soon. :P
