No Ambassador for at least another year???

Last word we got on the Ambassador is it was being saved for a FE. Now we're being told the FEs wont be coming back until summer next year. So another year before the Ambassador? Really?

    Plans change all the time. That's the problem with giving out information: fans assume nothing is subject to change. An Ambassador could come out on Thursday or it could come out 2 years from Thursday.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    The game can wait. It's not like adding another cruiser to the game anytime soon is going to drastically offset the delicate statistical balance between what exists now. They all tank and do middle of the road DPS, like they're suppose to.

    I think it's more of the fact that it's an Official Version of the ENTERPRISE that's making folks go..

    Yes, no Ambassador class, at least for right now. Guess you Feddies will have to make do with the excellent variety of ships you already have, I guess. :rolleyes:

    Ah was wondering where this was :P
    and yeah , its downright annoying , the Ambassador may be seen as the 'ugly duckling' by some , but it has some really dedicated fans , and its downright ludicrous we have a NX in game and not the Ambassador

    An Ambassador is in all of 5 episodes of Trek: 4 episodes of TNG and 1 episode of DS9 - total screen time not even 10 minutes. An NX is in 98 episodes. I don't see how it would be ludicrous. :)

    It's not so much.. "making do", as it seems kinda-sorta stupid that an Official Version of the Enterprise is taking so long to get in-game...

    When we have received so many Other ships of lesser fame and popularity.

    I hadn't heard he was bounced again - while he was on his 2nd or 3rd account. Maybe he's on vacation before school starts. :)

    Wait, the Ambassador Class showed up in the original series? How come it's not listed in my TOS Starfleet Technical Manual?

    Before the episode of TNG where the Enterprise C was first introduced and last seen, I'd never heard of it before.

    No. There were 4 appearances in TNG and 1 appearance in DS9. 5 appearances in total.

    Oh right, I misread that line. I never payed close attention to the ships that appeared in TNG, so I only remember it showing up in that one episode. Good to know you picked up on that at least.

    The Ambassador was most prominently in "Yesterday's Enterprise." During "Data's Day" the "Vulcan" Ambassador arrives on an Ambassador Class. Riker also briefly captained an Ambassador during "Redemption II." The DS9 episode was "Emissary" where you see an Ambassador fighting at Wolf 359.

    Unfortunately, the Ambassador has never been a high priority on *any* poll/survey that has been taken. However, as the Devs themselves have stated before, the forums do not represent the playerbase, and since there have only been forum polls then the results are meaningless.

    I am still waiting to be able to sail Space Shuttle OV-101 U.S.S. Enterprise, CV-6 U.S.S. Enterprise, CVN-65 U.S.S Enterprise (Fed carriers!), the 1799 Schooner U.S.S. Enterprise, and its 1811 refit as a brig.

    The sailing vessel did appear at least once in canon, and one of the carriers appeared twice, playing a pivotal role in the plot in one of those appearances in The Voyage Home.

    It is a travesty that these fine ships are not available in game.

    Who wants to play in an Ambassador, anyway? Heck, it couldn't even defeat 4 Romulan Warbirds. :)

    I sure will buy one. This is one of my top favorite Fed ships. You will see me move right on in on this ship. And it will be my main ship you will see me in.

    Also, talking about how "ugly" something might be is really subjective to the individual. Some people think the Mona Lisa is a great work of art. Other people see it as a pic of a chubby chick with an odd grin. :)

    What percentage of Trek fans read Trek novels as opposed to having ever watched TNG / DS9? There must be a healthy amount of players that haven't read Trek novels and don't know what the Vesta even is...but its coming first!

    We don't know when either ship is coming. The Ambassador could be in next Thursday's patch while the Vesta could be in Season 7. :)

    Exhibit A: The Vesta is going to be a Sci Vessel that can equip cannons.

    Exhibit B: Most of the Vesta's fans, haven't even read the Novels. :D They just like the ship.

    The Vesta was pretty prominent in one of the Ships-of-the-Line calendars...

    They sell quite well and may actually be the source of many of it's fans original connection to it.

    I know it was the first place I came across it before reading the novel.

    you DO realise that your 'travesty' has been in place since the launch of the damn game ?
    the Luna class is from the same line of novels mate
    As for the vesta being ugly , sure , some may see it that way , and thats your / their opinion

    the only reason the vesta may be coming first , is because that ship will just be a general release , like the upcoming regent , like the armitage was like the bellaraphon was etc etc etc

    they have something special planned for the Ambassador , and it'll feature heavily in a new FE

    Just leaving a note for CaptainGeko. When the ambassador does come out I would like its boff slots to be CM eng. LTCM Sci. LT eng. LT Tac. Ens Tac. Thank you very much I know you who did the excelsior can see my 'canon' reasons behind this set up. you're a good man when you're not mad at everybody. Have a nice day.
