Geez..
Finally they add the awesome suit people want and then its not even for the EV suit set to give it atleast a special costume. >_<
700 per character.
Not reclaimable because its tradeable.
Same or worse stats then items already ingame.
So in the end this is a 700zen non-customizable costume unlock, per chartacter. That cant be used for anything other then standing and showing you used money. My current suit got better stats, so I can't wouldn't bring this store item into combat.
I can live without it. I can kill things without it.

It's a sad, sad day indeed when the powers that be decide it's a good idea to troll their customers. I really can't think of another way to describe this "incident".
Another punctuated "NO THANKS" to add to the mix. You all really need to do some thinking before you put things like this out: max points for listening to the demand for this item; max NEGATIVE points for thinking the price PER TOON was plausible and anything less than insulting...

Caprica's Revenge (...actually active since November 2010, which may one day be important to archaeologists, but not to anyone else...)
For a single unlock, 100 zen. For account wide, 500 zen. For everything else, there is my savings account because thats where the money is going to stay if you are charging insane prices.
Also, lower the cost of the melee weapons bundle in the store...
Cloaking generators break down at first sign of language.
I might give the exchange a look in a week or two, but I doubt I'll buy these anytime soon. It's just too much for something like this. I'm hoping for a sale or a drop in price in the future.
It's a shame, since the suits are so cool, especially the Klingon ones. And I understand a lot of time goes into character art. But drop the price a few bucks, and I bet you'll get twice as many purchases.
Take a look at my Foundry missions! Conjoined, Re-emergence, and . . .
edit: Saying the they need to make their investment back and being a support are two different things. Yes, they need to make their investment back on the art work but no, this isn;t the price point to be doing at.
Granted though they're probably sell hundreds of them just today.
Based on current Zen store to energy credit conversion rates, these EV suits are worth 10,080,000 energy credits on the exchange, paying more than that and you're better off spending the Zen.
In other words, relative to their rarity they don't hold value either, the stand by the community is basically principle based.
"Sorry, I cannot hear your complaints due to the magnificence of my new EV Suit..."
They are buying them to sell, for the most part. Just like people buy master keys not because they want to open boxes, but because they want to sell em for EC.
Sure, there are going to be some weirdos with more money than brains and no spine at all who go "AH MY GAWD, our Chinese Overlords have given us the opportunity to give them more money and have deigned to give us something alright looking in return, even if it is only marignally better (or in some cases worse) than what we can get for free, Ill definitely buy THAT!!"
I might give the exchange a look in a week or two
...
I'll bet you this is Cryptic's plan. People interested in easy EC's will buy these, sell them on the exchange, and everyone wins. If you consider the price of keys atm, the exchange price will end up around 15M EC's. Does that price sound more reasonable for a character unlock EV suit?

First the SB grind fest to get the things u need for it, or pay to get them an in my eyes thats gonna generate money for cryptic alone with doff packs being needed/wanted.
ALL my unlocks on ym account are ACCOUNT wide apart from a few things aside per toon i earned ingame, i.e. scarf's, the new sash for TNG.
This is a TOP END SCALE INSANE move by the PWE overlords.
THESE SUITS SHOULD OF BEEN IN THE GAME OR MADE AVAIL TO PURCHASE FROM THE BEGINING OF USING SPACE WALK/DILITHIUM mining.
but no we're given shody boiler suits that the malon have decided to donate to starfleet since they laugh at us with the amount of TRIBBLE we got from the lockboxes.
If you don't like the price, don't buy it.
If you are upset they "hid" the fact it is per character, then read the description next time.
You alone are fully responsible for where your money goes. If Cryptic sees there is no money coming from this, they'll adjust it.
These EV suits are cosmetic. I have beaten all of the Tholian invasion missions with the free EV suit we got during the Dominion mission. These are not required to win or do well. If you chose to spend money on them, that is your business. But there is no reason to get upset over a small piece of fluff.

Despite being a serious STO fashionista, and huge fan of synchronized EV suit robot flash/dance mobs, it's almost an easy decision to pass on these. Besides, my S.o.P. dance bombs are already wearing them. Good enough for me, until this pricing discrepency is hopefully fixed.
Because it's the sound that steel shod boots make on the deck plating of a real warship. As opposed [to] the cushy carpeting on the Federation luxury liners.
If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

Thanks for helping us all out with your words of wisdom
However, PWE/Cryptic really needs to revisit it's choice to move away from account-wide unlocks with regard to C-Store offerings. Not just specific to the EV suit.

I really would like to buy this, the price is too damn high.... for a per character slot. Lower price, or make it account wide and you can have my money.
Comments
1. fix the bugs
2. stop the making of new lockbox ships
3. spend time adding zen store ships for KDF and fed with the priority on KDF for a bit
come on we all have been waiting for ambassador class and K' vort but we can lockbox ships instead.
and no i think $7 is to high for a EVA suit, hell it should be free like all the others
just my 2cents

This 700 zen suit is not different as the 2000 zen fleet ships.
And I'm not saying that I dont want to pay for the game.
I know that somehow Cryptic must get their investment back.
But this suit, as well as the Fleet Ships are abuse.

I'd be very surprised by any presence in any of these threads by a PWE rep.
