Connectivity Issues

Alright, I've a new issue that seems logically connected to the latest update.

Simply put, since the most recent update I have had massive connectivity issues. Lag and rubberbanding are not appearing, but rather I simply lose connection to the server at fairly regular intervals.

Before someone suggests this might be intermittent, its been happening consistently ever since the season six update.

I've also run the Cryptic nettest.exe. The results, posted here, suggested that there are no issues. Can anyone offer another suggestion? This has made the game unplayable for me.

you are not alone my friend.
ever since season 6 i get 15-20 times a day when i'm on the all too familiar SERVER NOT RESPONDING timer.

as a life time gold member i was expecting more for my money. i guess when cryptic got taken over so did any decent technical support.

I doubt this will get fixed. :(

I was given the 'ole "Uninstall the game then reinstall" response

Yeah, I've gone through their little checklist, up to and including a complete reinstall AND forcing the game to update everything via the launcher rather than in game. Situation has not improved.

Oh, and the endlessly hilarious part? I've tried to submit a ticket via PWE support. Pressing that button results in an error stating that "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

I smell bull****. Get off your collective rears and pay attention to this problem PWE.

I've done everything this forum has suggested and their tech support has suggested. The issue is definitely on their end. Something has broken on their login servers since last patch. This is what i've done. Tracert netest both have really great numbers, I've input both the launcher/game app and the ports suggested into my firewall, and finally I've done a scanfile as it suggested with the first install and completely uninstalled reinstalled it as a final solution. The problem still remains not as often (it was in every load screen before) now it happens every thirty minutes. Something is definitely wrong on Cryptics end of the stick because this wasn't happening before season 6 to me at all.

Yep something is up on their end, this isn't the only thread on it. The problem is erratic and intermittent.

    Connectivity problems thread 1

    Connectivity problems thread 2

I'm sure there are more around too.

I also did the new install and force verify on the files. I've done multiple ping, tracert, and nettest.exe trying to find a culprit with the results.. everything points to Cryptic's side of things.

If you want a guide to help diagnose the problem they have a post here.

I've already ticketed and posted about it hopefully everyone else has or will. Flooding them with queries seems to be the only way to get their attention.

I also have this problem. I log on fine, I even get to the sector space view. But the instant I try to continue my mission, I get disconnected.

Surely seeing as this is in the section of the forum for problems SOMEONE should see it and fix it???

I have been disconnecting a lot too, it is interfering with missions quite a lot. It is especially irksome in STF ground because if you reconnect you respawn at the first spawn point and not the latest unlocked spawn.

I wrote a post in the sticky lag thread with netest and tracert reports here.

This coupled to an increase in CTDs since the patch is making STO one those games where you think twice before clicking the icon.

I am getting this to today. Its not my modem Ive replaced it completely its not a general internet issue as far as I can tell everything else is working fine.

Its not my router it happens with or without it.

We need a cryptic response here this is starting to get out of hand.

I have a friend who showed me his STO and I loved it. But, my computer gives the message " Cannot fin Runtime " when I try to play. I run windows XP HE, but so does my friend. Can anyone suggest a solution, or am I out of luck?

    Nothing related to luck here.

Last patch just broke the game.

People got stuck for hours just to discover the game will not work.

It's a shame, they basically killed the game for so many people and they don't even respond for it,

but they do send a kamikaze moderator to lend the most generic, out of matter and useless advice ever.

And then they expect people to PAY money for this "service"?

I will not drop a single cent before I'll see them became more serious. And I am not the only one who thinks so, or one of few.

The choice is theirs, it's all in their hands, don't gonna complain about free customers then.
I still dream from time to time about using the Gateway to doff off-game in spare minutes as we were told
