SERIOUSLY. I've had this problem for far to long. Because my main toon has 38 Ship slots that he has got before Free To Play I'm screwed out of 500 day Reward and Level 50 Season 5 Test reward. I've had enough. You're putting out all these new shiny ships and I as a collector want them. I have my ways of getting them as well even if it means emptying my pockets to you and I always HAPPILY Empty my pockets for Keys and SHIP SLOTS. Expand the sever capabilities for crying out loud. I know I'm not the only one who has the problems I've described above but when you continue to put out ships like this you should damn well expect people to collect them. Fark always say's you have "TOP MEN" well these top men should expand the limit from 28 to say... 47? I mean its a number we all know and love. it works with the amount of T5 ships that you continue to put out. Why not?
Sorry for the wall of text. For those with lack of attention.
People Collect. People Get Screwed when Limits are put in place.
I'm sorry, they can not hear you over the sound of lock box construction, and cash register "ka-shing". Maybe just give up and dump a couple of the c-store ships. You can always reclaim them latter for a joy ride now and then.
Today, I went to the Federation shipyard and it occurred to me "all those little boxes are starships", and that's not counting the Lockbox ships and the KDF ships.
Maybe they should make a type of Collector's Edition Shipyard Pack of somekind.

This really wouldn't help him. His problem is he is at the maximum number of ship slots the game allows on any one character, so any vet reward that gives more slots can't be claimed.

Aaahhh I understand now. That's a really bummer for you bmoney.
Dismiss some of the C-Store ships you aren't actively using. You're not intended to have that many ships claimed at once.
The amount of data stored on characters is already such that they consider the current limit to be overboard. The way the game engine handles character data, it would not be technically or financially viable for them to sell or offer more ship slots. The "dismiss and reclaim" mechanic is the only answer you will get for this because the ship limit is already much higher than they want and there are probably some internally who have argued that it was a mistake to sell extra slots at all.

The inherent problem with this argument will come when the number of non-Cstore collectibles exceeds 38.
Hopefully they won't wait until the last minute to address this.

It is time to do away with the whole notion of ship slots. It might have been a fine idea back before F2P, but with Cryptic jamming as many ships as they can into character only sales and lotteries, the notion of having to pay for a ship slot after paying in some cases hundreds of dollars for a ship for one character that cannot be reclaimed is ludicrous..
It's been brought up several times before with no definitive Cryptic response received to date. Maybe Branflakes will bring it to someone's attention again?
They've said for a long time that they want to do something else, going back over a year to the idea of giving out free slots with each c-store ship purchase.
However, they have yet to actually release a solution. It seems to be more on the long term bucket list.
If Mr. Stahl doesn't even want to charge a higher rate for slots past this limit (to offset the laughable storage cost) then its time to give up as they will never fix this for you. Some devs don't even know it exists.

That's a good idea. They probably won't hear that over there other money makers but that would be a great way to make them money and us a place to store our extras for collecting.
...is turn the reclaim option they have when you turn in your c-store ship into a shipyard. Goto the shipyard and instead of it being called "Reclaim" it would be called "Acquire" or "Get" or "Use" or something on that line. I am sure there is a better STO way of saying it but it is that simple. The capabilities are there and being used already all the servers have to do is save as a text file what ship that person has and then create it when they ask for it. I don't think it is any different than it is now, you just have a picture of the ship.
Wonder if it has anything to do with data space. If they increased the # of slots then each character on each account would take up more space on their drives.
Just a thought out there, We have all these new fleet ships, lockbox ships, shuttles, mirror universe ships on top of what's in the c store. Any chance Cryptic will up the cap by like 10 ship slots maybe? Most of your playerbase would pay for it and since the starb ases are the cah cows that they are I figure you would want to make more money.
Lol, I read the OP and now I'm sorry I posted. I usually read all the the thread before posting and here I didn't. The OP makes no sense and has nothing to do with what I said. sorry.
Idiots. There is not one point in the OP I don't deal with, except the fact I manage stuff better. Well that and I don't use "Fark" as a real word, I don't quote movies I misunderstand and say "Top Men" and I can count. 39 slots, not enough ships.
I'm also not such a devoted fan that I max everything out and then come cry on the forums when one small feature of a vet reward is not there because I'm a over zealous fan.
Not to mention he said 47 not 43. What kind of geek is he?
Also, considering the last two posts are accusing me of trolling (yeah probably), tell me what the hell do you think he meant?
His problem is he is at the maximum number of ship slots the game allows on any one character, so any vet reward that gives more slots means he misses out on the entire reward, it won't let him claim any of it.
What he said. but a little different. Before Free To Play I got 38 ship slots on my main. Now because I am over said limit I can't get my Season 5 testing reward and my 500 day reward.
why ship slots are even limited in the first place is beyond me,
also why does a cup of vulcan tea take up as much space as a phaser beam array? the inventory system makes absalutely no sense, if they want to limit inventory size to money grab then they should give each item a volume value insted of the ANCIENT box slot inventory system that i thought we all got past many many years ago.

Undoubtedly they store ship data and character data separately and use data relationships between the two. Having too many of these running concurrently, like when you are at the ships selector or switching to your active ship, it can affect server performance.

Maybe it needs to get a lot more attention from players before they are going to see it.

Then again, data storage is cheap. *shrugs*
