Can I Save on Patch Time

I have copied the Star Trek Online live folder to a secondary hard drive so if I have to reformat the patching wont take so long to get back to normal.

With the impending Season 6 I was wondering to save on some patch time if I copy the contents of the Tribble folder into my Live folder (when I know the patch for season 6 is out) could I reduce the amount of time to patch for Season 6?

Or would that TRIBBLE everything?

Thanks

I just got the patch. I have a tribble install and it took less than 3 minutes on a cruddy wireless (ie Starbucks) network.

    It copied everything over itself.

Our patch system automatically grabs a file locally if you already have it for another shard. So if you are up to date on Tribble, you will not have to download all that stuff again.

My questuion to you guys at Cryptic:

If the system sees you have something fully patched on another shard (like Tribble) WHY does the cluient waste time (and user disk space) copying it all to another folder?

Instead, if it sees the files fully/completely available on another shard (like Tribble); why doesn't the pre-patch function terminate without doing a thing?

Its because the 'Tribble' Client (being a Beta Test) can be modified at any time to state that is 'different' from the production Holodeck code... (You do want a working copy of Holodeck when that happens, don't you???)

Because when Tribble updates it won't be the same files anymore.

But with every season launch, everything patched on Tribble usually ends up in the frst Live build, and even when that hasn't been the case, the patcher has had no issues pulling over the relevent parts of the Tribble client (honestly, I've always cancelled any pre-patching since launch as I've always patched and tested on Tribble and I've never had an instance where the patch client didn't pull what it could from Tribble first.
