You may want to edit your sig. URLs have been added in for a few days.

Might be helpful if you provided the results from the two tests in this sticky:

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=225155

You may also want to search the forums as this has been discussed previous;y but those two tests really are the first step.

Im having trouble logging in too.

I get to the character screen and afterwards it gets stuck on "retrieving list of maps" and then boots me back to the login screen.

Sometimes it even starts loading (2-3 times out of 30+ tries) but constantly shows "server not responding" and kicks me out again.

    Worked fine on monday.

    Here from the Clientservercomm.log:

Can't get in this morning, but I'm pretty sure it's due to maintenance.

well....this update didn't fix anything on my end....still getting disconnected from the login server after hitting the play button on the character screen. everything loads into the login server fine, but when i hit the play button it is still trying to retrieve area maps, and it is still disconnecting me from the login server. i've gotten a few responses from pwi tech support through my ticket i submitted 2 weeks ago. after going through their comprehensive list of things to do (bypass firewalls, update drivers, bios, regcheck, defrag, ect. ect.) and downloading the latest game patch, i'm still unable to play the game. The last e-mail i got from them said:

"Your best chance to obtain the developers' attention on this matter is to post on the forums. Other users who have the same or similar issues would be able to help as well. There is not much we can do about your connection unfortunately.

    Regards,

The Perfect World Tech Support Team"

so.....for the umpteenth time, i'm begging tech support to look at the login server and game servers (and the communication links between the two), and try to figure out why it's dropping clients before it can even load the location maps for my ship. There's the glitch....somewhere between the login server and the game server, something is not communicating between the two, which results in the login server dropping the incomming port and disconnecting the client back to that spacy login screen.

It may just be that i have an incredibly crappy internet connection through hughes net, but i doubt it because i can run Guild Wars in the background with little to no packet loss, no rubberbanding, and continue to play that game with no problems (and i know that game runs on a higher internet bandwidth load than this game)....so....i'm begging (on my knees begging) that some Cryptic tech god out there can see this, and take a look at the routing between the login servers and the actual game servers and find that broken connection between the two that boots people out of the game after the "retreiving area maps" screen appears and before the "disconnected from login server" bar appears....

in the meantime, i'm just going to have to throw in the towel on this game, and move on to something else until they resolve this.......(skyrim sounds like fun at the moment, but i'll probably just log back in to guild wars and slaughter some ettins for the xp)

"Boy....Don't tell me about how "ubergodleet" you think you are. I was playing games long before you were even a twinkle in your daddy's eye....ever hear of Commodore or Ti99? Yeah....it's like that."

And once again, the Account Server cannot be reached...seriously guys, this is getting very irritating. Its a good game and I want to play more, but not when I cannot get on the damn sevrer!

Also, I cannot log into my account to change my account guard settings, this URL is broken:
    https://secure.crypticstudios.com/startrek/login

And the Updater says that it cannot authenticate -.-

    Same here!

    "Unable to Authenticate:"

Edit: Thanx beezle23 for getting me to check the date... Forgot that it's reversed, in Sweden we have day first and month next... I just saw the "7" and thought it was tomorrow... And with the Tribble weekend i just assumed they timed the downtime so more people would play on Tribble

I am having trouble logging in from the launcher. I am getting the message "Unable to authenticate:" yet it was working this morning...

    Any clues?

(BTW my password still works on the web site)

    I'm having similar problems too..
Every time I login and do anything, [holodeck or tribble] I get disconnected like 5 seconds after I get in!

I tried lowering the graphics, changing instances , restarting the router.. And nothing works!
