Tholian type grounds environments are probably not as bad as Venus type environment. From what we know the Tholians require high temperatures, but not as high as on Venus. Their air requirements don't seem to be too extraodinary. MU Phlox was able to contain one in his sick bay. It might require a higher pressure, but it didn't seem to be Venus type pressure
Human can tolerate very high temperatures even as high as 400+ degrees for short period of times. And as long as the pressures aren't extraordinarily high, there should be pressure suits which class M lifeforms can survive in Tholian friendly environments.
Dont forget that Cryptic/Perfectworld like to do their own thing for the sake of it, if you look at the screenshots out there the Tholians will be two-three times the size of the Mirror Universe one, almost like a giant spider.
They're very good at giving ships and starbases justice to the franchise but characters and enviroments are still lacking behind in my opinion, like the Undine, why make the various looking types?
OH and a freind of mine stated there will be a Tholian ship set either with Season 6 or in a later update including Disruptor Torpedo's and the Web as a specail weapon with the complete set... shh
Also they will be playing a vital role in the Iconian story and eventually the back story for the including of the Romulans as a playable race during a civil war...shh
STAR TREK CONTINUES
Episode One - A Single MomentEpisode Two - InfancyEpisode Three - Unto the Breach Episode Four - Head Of A NeedleEpisode Five: The Duality of MenEpisode Six - Redemption Earned Episode Seven - Shattered UniverseEpisode Eight - The Gepetto ConditionEpisode Nine - One Room, Two Officers Episode Ten - Beyond The Farthest StarEpisode Eleven - It's OK, It Won't HurtEpisode Twelve - A Protracted Officer Episode Thirteen - SomewhenEpisode Fourteen - The Boy Who LivedEpisode Fifthteen - Empathy
Also they will be playing a vital role in the Iconian story
In the TrekLit novels - specifically, the Vanguard series - the Tholians are revealed to have ties to an ancient race known as the "Shedai". It will be interesting to see if Kestrel has taken parts of Tholian culture, which has been expanded on in the novels, and incorporated it into STO.
iam so excited about season 6 along with all the new content I cannot contain myself no longer....Thank you so much..
I'm looking forward to the extra content on Foundry! It's looking good!

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
As far as I know the Foundry update is at the same time as Season 6.
I did have a screenshot of what they would look like (Ground) but lost it, they're essentailly giant shiney spiders! lol

I smell a new grind coming... kill 1000 tholians for a dress/suit made from tholian silk.
