I have been playing StarTrek Online since it's release in Britain and thus far I have been extremely pleased! However events of late have made me reconsider this. Ever since the Webiste got overhauled a couple of days ago, I am having extreme problems with the game.
1 - I am not extremely please that I was *forced* to change my account to a PWE account as I've been a Cryptic account holder since I made it, early 2010. I am unsure why this was needed and what was gained by doing so. I had to make myself a new display name in order to make my PWE account which now differs from my
@handle in the game.
2 - The website now has an annoying Facebook box which jumps up and down the page to follow where you are looking. All it shows me is that STO is on Facebook (Which I add, I already knew) and shows me that it has many fans. It's useless as I am already a fan of STO on Facebook, I understand many people find this irritating.
3 - Before I linked my account to PWE I could buy Cryptic Points in game, by clicking on the 'Buy Cryptic Points' within the C-Store, now, I am transfered to the Perfect World website outside of the game which is not only annoying but presents yet another thing that I'm not happy about. Perfect World does not have my bank details on record. Cryptic had them stored in an easy use system, but now they have just gone.
4 - I have been having trouble with the system allowing me to buy these Zen points. It keeps telling me that I need a level 10 character. This is such a silly thing to have when you have items available for character who are not level 10, so why restrict purchasing of Zen to characters of level 10 only. When it does let me buy Zen points I have to input my bank details into yet another site, which I'm not very happy about.
5 - The system of Zen is much more complicated that the old system for Cryptic Points. I now have to buy Zen points, transfer them to STO and then spend them. Well seeing as though I don't play any other Cryptic/Perfect World games this service is of no use to me and only extends the time it takes me to buy anything new in game.
6 - I tried to send Cryptic a support ticket but I found out that the service is no longer available and I have to do it through Perfect World, but the link isn't working and always leads me to an error page, which is the reason for this long post on the forums because I have no idea what to do about these issues.
7 (update) - I just posted this and looked to the left of my post and noticed that my name is all in lower case, which to me is annoying. Secondly it says I joined Jun 2012, when in-fact I joined early 2010, I would have assumed that linking my accounts would move all data from my cryptic account over to my new PWE account such as bank details, display name, Join date - But it seems I have been let down here also.
I am a massive fan of the game and I love playing, I've also spent quite a bit of money on the game. I hate that all of a sudden I am experiencing an array of problems that never existed before due to alterations in the system.
'Why change something which isn't broken?'
I am posting this on a new thread because I'm not totally sure of how the forum system works because I've never had need to post on here in the past. I am sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place or something, but I would appreciate a reply from someone who
has answers.
Thanks for your time on this matter.

I have an idea for what Season 11 should be; Season 11: The Big Bug Fix.
I have not been able to read my bug tickets in over a year, not even the tickets about not being able to see my tickets.
I find the drama of your signature proof of your immaturity, this means you, DR whiners.
I just hope they reply to this, I've seen many threads that have gone unanswered.
No offense but I have the feeling that the first thought that comes to mind if anyone from them sees this will be "Oh it's just another complaint" and they move on.
That's pretty much what they're doing with support tickets when you try and report something.
Good luck
edit: As someone who sends a lot of time moderating forums elsewhere, If I saw this, it would have been either combined into a giant thread or closed with a "thanks for posting. There are other threads covering this already" copy and paste. That's usually what gets done to threads like these.
Wow. I didn't know that forum moderators treated customer complaints like this. It would be different if I had the ability to use the Support Ticket thing, but that doesn't even work anymore.
Thanks for your reply
If you scan the complaint threads, you'll see that most if not all are pretty much being ignored.
In their defense, most of the requested changes or "bug reports" about the new forums are going to be out of their hands. The whole point of this was to bring the outside forums into the PW system and onto their platform. We're just one cog on the wheel now.
For example I run a small webhosting company where everything but the content is managed. We do all of the installs, the upgrades, the addons, etc. (We cater to soccer moms and the like. Most of them wouldn't have a clue as to how to install a wiki or a blog.) if they want something added on it gets weighed against it being good for the entire community.
I think that;s what we're facing now.
oh and please don;t get me wrong about forum moderators. I know quite often on those forums, I feel the same way. Their hands are usually tied by what the paid employees are telling them what to do. I know on one support forums of a popular blogging site, any time an enduser mentioned seeing mysterious adverts on their site, we were supposed to say that is must be their computer and a virus displaying them. They went about 6 months running adverts on users sites before a general cry went up over it.
