I was under the impression that many of the people living in the EU were aware of VAT.
Which is added to the price displayed. So in this case the price would be listed as 208, and there would be no surprises.
The problem here is that the price is consistantly listed as 178 through the entire purchase, up to and including the point where the credit card payment is agreed.
The stealth tax is added AFTER the payment has been agreed.
The only way it can be cancelled at this point is by contacting the credit card company and requesting a chargeback. Dispute proceedings will occur, where I imagine that Cryptic will point to the following, displayed on the purchase page:
EU Value Added Tax (VAT)
Prices displayed are not inclusive of VAT for purchases from European Union (EU). VAT is charged in accordance with the local legislation in each member state and varies from 15%-25%.
However, if someone wants to try, I'm sure the community would be very interested to hear how it turns out.
It even states on this page that the total pricing for Lifetime + VAT varies. Even the fine print at the bottom states: "** VAT will be added on top of the base price upon checkout, percentage varies based on your billing address."
True but cryptic should probably warn us of the VAT.
They do on the order page in a big box

The point is it's not added upon checkout. It's added AFTER the checkout has been agreed.
