Cannot take advantage of the sale?

For a while I was debating on whether or not I would get the c-store excelsior after returning to the game. With the sale I decided to go for it to only find I cannot because I am not a high enough rank as of yet. While I certainly don't expect to use it until I get to said rank. Is there anyway now for me to purchase it so I can get it during the sale?

    Unfortunately this is one of the down sides to having rank required items in the store :( But it's also to save them from having people buy them without understanding the whole "Must be xx rank to use" and then having to issue refunds.

    Seems like the logical thing to do would be to temporarily lower the cost of C-store points. Though I suppose that would basically give them no control over what people bought for less.

    the fact we can't buy items if we don't have rank its bad cause for example actually have a promotions and people want take advantage of promotions to buy a ships for example can't do this until they got the level so that's why we will see this XP boost in store so ppl wanna buy a ships in promotions will buy XP boost to be able to buy this ships for a less price

    personnaly i'm a lifetimer and its very bad to have so much things in c-store and not enough in normal game

    the store need a little refit to give player benefit of promotion.

    They should've made it so you could purchase any item, but not claim it unless you were high enough level.
    But then lowbies would probably buy ships and complain about that instead :\

    As I see it, you have a few options:

    1) Get to level 41 on any character by the end of the sale, February 4 (as you must be a Rear Admiral to purchase it, but it will then be available to any and all Federation characters you own once they hit the minimum required level of 41). You can also buy or obtain the skill point bonuses, but these don't look to be available until Tuesday, February 1.

    2) Wait until the next sale. They have had several 20% off sales so far, so you can get it at the price it is now but it may be a few months.

    the fact is i alwaysplay fed from begining of the game and only few weeks i begin a KDF char and only Commander 9 the higher lvl i got actually in KDF and 2 VA in fed but with klingon char i can't buy some items cuz have not the lvl

    if you go buy a guitar in a shops you can't complain to get money back cuz you can't play guitar cause you don't know how to play you know what you buy and if you can use it

    for some items i think the best way its to be able to buy but claim where we get lvl when you look information you got info where say need lvl what console etc.. so i know what i will buy.

    I can't take advantage of the sales because I do not have enough cryptic points. Everytime I try to purchace more, server says my payment was rejected. I have put in my card information correcty. I have also contacted my bank to see if they were denying the purchase. They have informed me that Cryptic/Atari has not even pinged my account. Has anoyne else encountered this problem?

    I just go trapped by this as well. Just bought 5000 cryptic points to pick up the Klingon ships I have yet to purchase (pretty much bought everything else in the store) but after spending just under $70 AUD I found out that I can't even buy the ships because of my rank.

    I knew I wouldn't be able to fly the ships at a certain rank, but to not even be able to purchase them, especially concidering I only did this because of the 20% OFF ANNIVERSARY SALE advertised on the main page of the STO site... not happy.

    they have sales all the time. there will be another around soon enough.

    Hey guys, I have been playing for a little over a year now, and I haven't done much with my Klingon characters. I would like to buy the Klingon Variants(Gurumba, Kar'Fi, etc) however like most of you, I am not appropriate rank. Does Cryptic realize that by restricting these ships for purchase until you recieve the proper rank is costing them a lot of money. I for one I would be buying all of the Klingon ships available in the C-Store, for when I get to that rank. It's fairly sefl explanatory that those are higher tier ships and you would have to wait, so I don't know why Cryptic is tightening it's own noose when it comes to earning even more revenue from the Cryptic Store.
