Apparently, Captain Winter's least favorite sports teams are those with the name "Jets."

So I started playing civilization V. Did you know that Quebec City is next to Warsaw? Both of which are in North Africa, amidst the babylonian empire that spread East after defeating the Denmark owned Middle East. China apparently covers most of North America. Oh and there's absolutely no oil anywhere in the Middle East.

I actually have a real, and interesting, announcement...

Star Trek: TNG is now available, streaming, on Netflix.

If you'll excuse me, I have to go waste a few weeks of my life rewatching seasons three through seven.

The U.S.S. Enterprise (CVN-65) is possibly the oldest ship in continuous active service with the US Navy.

According to Wikipedia, there was a petition to name one of the Ford-class supercarriers Enterprise, since the current one is scheduled to be decomissioned in 2013. The one the petition was referencing, CVN-79, was named John. F. Kennedy instead. However, CVN-80 is still apparently unnamed, and depending on how many more of the class the Navy intends to construct, there is still ample opportunity to name one of them Enterprise. :)

I would be wierd to be in a Navy without a ship named Enterprise. If they decomm here in 2013, then my final year in the reserves will be without one.

You laugh, but I was in port one time in Norfolk on my SSBN and they put Enterprise on the next pier over, the tugs moving her around were throwing about so much water, that it pushed us closer to the pier (half a mile away) and put our shore power cable in the water. Luckily they were well insulated :D
