Friend asked me if I wanted to go and see a movie.
After checking the prices I informed him in my usual lady like manners that he could... Not very pretty things.
$30 for a 2 hour movie.
And that was the lowest price. Some theaters had prices in the ranges of $60-70.
So guess who will be spending the coming weekend at home rolling around on a pile of money? I will!
Kessel is German for Annihilation. So Han took under 12 Parsecs to do an Annihilation Run???
In later books, they explained that with Kessel being an area full of black holes. His ship was fast enough that he could go within 12 parsecs of one without being sucked in. Meh, okay. That makes me feel a little better about it, I guess.

Why are movies so expensive in Chatland? Over here movies are around 12 or 14$, 8$ on Tuesday afternoons, and about 4$ at the cheap theatre (which shows movies from a few months back)

I dunno. Because we are the home of pirates?
But seriously... The movie in question was Prometheus.
$30 was the price for 3D. About $20 for non-3D. The prices that went upwards $70 was I have no idea how they justified that honestly.
Translating it to Swedish money looks even worse. 200-700kr.
A bad comparison...
A cheeseburger at McDonalds cost about $1.50.(that's 10kr)
Buying a movie costs about $30-40 here.

I've found it funny that a double cheeseburger costs 20kr. But all they added was another patty and a slice of cheese. They didn't actually double it semantically... Should be more bread and all that, no?
