Been looking through the ship submissions, and see none like mine.

I don't mind the basic design, a bit sleeker and i think there'd be a very nice ship in there.

As for all the uber-powerful techno-babble; *checks the pic on the contest page* they aint going to be able to read any of that. If it were to win, everything bar the schematics would end up on the cutting room floor anyways. Even canon ships aren't immune to the almighty game balance.

I submitted a full rez version with high compression, so the text is readable, if they keep the submission images. It was scaled down for the website obviously.

Pretty sure he was referring to the person who immediately and unconditionally agreed with you :P

There was a lot of truth in what you said though, so can't blame him ....

    this time :)

Remember that people send in a design for a ship. They don't send in stats. Heck, even the size is probably negotiable. Not many designs actually have visible windows that could force a size issue, and I suppose in any actual implementation in the end, compromises will have to be made. The OP probably might have devoted too much time on the technobabble here. But at least he also spent some good time on creating a design.

I don't like several things, but my most important:
    - Nacelles are too big. The J has very small ones. I like that direction.
    - Hull section too big compared to saucer.
    - I'd rather have docking stations for the support ships.
    - No biodomes.

    :p

Not that I think a 4km long ship will be what would actually get into the game. It doesn't make much sense assuming the J is even remotely likely in this timeline.

I don't want to see any liver pics. Next thing that happens will be they are part of the contest.

Why do I think of Gomtuu now?

I mention that on the submission somewhere.

I think it was more because the sounds inside Gomtuu where based on sounds inside a human stomach, IIRC.

But of course, it is possible that i subconciously read the name. Which would be kinda freaky, since I didn't read that all! ;)

Well technically the contest doesn't specifiy the length so I guess they are leaving it up to Cryptic to decide for themselves. But the ones I have seen that did have measurements were either too small (actually saw one for 500m long) or too big (like that 4km long super-duper-carrier).

I personally decided long before this contest officially began that my own design would be 1000m long, since the future Enterprises are significiantly larger and eventually gets up to the Enterprize J's 3200m length.

EDIT/DELETED: eh, I'm an TRIBBLE-hat. And if I post this, I'd be even more of an TRIBBLE-hat and likely against forum rules.
