Unable to complete transaction: that item cannot currently be purchased.

No matter what i try and buy (though i am after the Excelsior ship costume) i get this message
"Unable to complete transaction: that item cannot currently be purchased."

Now i have the money needed for this, yet all the items prices are in an orange colour.. anyone know whats wrong?

    There are 4 criteria for purchasing something from the C-Store:

    1: Characters below the rank of a ship can't buy the ship, so characters below Rear Admiral can't buy the Excelsior or Nebula and characters below Vice Admiral can't buy the Galaxy, Defiant, or Intrepid refits.

    2: Ships can't be purchased if your ship inventory on the character is full. If you have 8 ships the game won't let you buy another ship until you delete one or purchase more ship slots.

    3: Opposing Factions can't buy items for the other. Feds can't buy c-store Klink items and Klinks can't buy c-store Fed items.

    4: You must have enough Cryptic Points to complete the purchase.

    If all those criteria are met and you still can't buy the item then you need to submit a bug ticket in-game to try and get the problem fixed.

    I can't buy the NX value pack on any of my Federation Characters. I get the same error message.

    I have this bug too. I've submitted a ticket regarding it.

    I especially bought C-Store points for the Black Friday Sales... and it looks like I'm going to miss out because of this bug. I really hope they allow me to purchase the 2 ships I'm after at the discounted rates, otherwise I really feel cheated.

    I have 2 spare ship slots, I am VA1 ranked. There is no reason why I shouldn't be eligible for the 2 retrofit cruisers.

    Be sure you have inventory space along with an empty ship slot. You cannot buy ships without at least 1 open slot.

    I have the Enterprise pack. I can use it all except redeem the 'free' part from the store (I am assuming thats the ship)

    Help?

    I got this error when I tried to buy the enterprise pack. I found it was that I didn't have an empty ship slot. Once I opened one up I could buy the pack. As for getting the nx after you bought the pack I’d say check to see if you have any ship slots available for your toons level. I noticed I have to get rid of the excelsior after the tutorial to get the nx because It always gives me the connie when I get to esd.

    I had that problem with the NX too, you are able to claim it on one character, and you can use the uniforms on all the characters, but you can't claim the bundle pack on anyone else, right?

    You're actually trying to claim the wrong item. As it turns out, after you purchase the bundle, you don't claim the whole bundle on all your toons, because you've already unlocked the uniforms for everyone, all you need to claim is the NX-class, which is in the ships section of the C-Store.
