Enterprise Pack, really?

I'm not sure if others have posted their frustration about this, but I am going to.

Considering Enterprise was by far the least successful series of the Trek franchise, I cannot believe that we are getting an entire pack coming up that involves an NX ship, uniforms, etc. all while fans of other series like TOS, TNG, etc. wait for c-store items from those eras to trickle in little bits or that we get rare items (like the TOS handphaser from the latest episode).

What about a pack involving more TOS stuff, like tricorder, communicator, etc. Or a TNG style lab coat, Dr. Pulaski's style of medical uniform, or Chief O'Brien's rolled up sleeves uni from DS9? Or a Klingon sash for our Fed klinks and klink boffs? TNG style away equipment? How about finally updating the Trek II-VI uniforms so they display different ranks?

I know that we already have bits and pieces from the other series (especially uniforms) but that is all it is...bits and pieces. Why not finish off the other eras and make adjustments to what we have now before doing an entire pack on Enterprise stuff?

That's all :)

I am looking forward to the NX items. Given that this game will be around for many years you can count on it that ALL THINGS Trek will eventually make into the game at some point. So give it time and you will see the Pulaski Med Uniform.

Even though it might not of been the most successfull series, though it beat TOS by one more series i believe (Not including the films that started bout 10 years later), their are thoose that did and have enjoyed Enterprise.

Since we found out that the NX-Class is being released as a starter ship, I have absolutely no problem with the Enterprise pack. I do agree that the other eras need more love, too, but they'll get here eventually. Enterprise has a fan base, just like every other Trek series, and leaving out any of the iconic items just doesn't make sense.

    IDIC...it's what's for dinner. ;)

The first couple seasons were pretty bad, I'll admit, but bad writing doesn't change the fact that a lot of the design choices were quite good.

And hell if we're making judgements based on writing we're going to have to remove the intrepid, nova, and prometheus and all their variants.

    Yeah no.

The NX-01 is a Tier 1 ship like the Mirandas and TOS Connies.

And while you certainly can still fly her at VA, you're going to have a very hard time doing much anything.

Unfortunetly for ENT, the other shows were easy to include in STO right from the launch. TNG, DS9, and VOY are all the same, "TNG" era, so uniforms and ships were easy to bring in. TOS had the Connie refit and Miranda, and then the TOS uniforms for a pre-order bonus (followed by inclusion in the C-Store), as well as the Connie pre-order bonus (which also went C-Store), along with NOW a whole month's worth of time travel to that era. ENT is getting about the same amount of inclusion now as the other shows already have.

ENT was cool later on...loved the uniforms. That was about it. lol I'm kinda excited, I'll definitely get it for the uniforms.

If you don't like the Enterprise pack don't buy it, simple as that.... but if we see your toons wearing the Enterprise uniforms then you must stand in front of everyone and sing Enterprise's opening theme word for word :p

    (a deep klingon belly laugh)

I am in agreement that ST: Enterpirse was poorly done from the start. The person who deserves the most blame for inconsistanies is Michael Okuda. Gene Rodenberry had him collect and compile infromation from the Original Series, and the Next Genreation so as to maintain continuity. That was part of the success of the francise. Him signing off on several of the stories that directly contradict what has come before (or after in this case) was a major foul on his part. If CBS/Paramount had told him to "stuff it, we're doing it our way", then the executives would be to blame. Plenty of balme to go around, but he gets the most.

Sorry for the tangent. I support clumping all the features from the "step child" series in one pack as I certainly would not purchace it piecemeal. I may find some useful, but I highly doubt I will use all of them.

You know what my first response to the OP is? F*** you. I loved Enterprise, it really didn't get a fair shake -- But content wise was every bit as good as TNG. I for one am jumping up and down to get the Enterprise stuff. So thanks Cryptic for the awesome Enterprise stuff, I'll be buying every bit of it for my toons.

That was pretty much my first impression towards the OP, too, but not quite that harsh. While I am not a huge fan of Enterprise, I do have to admit that it picked up quite a lot towards the end and I was actually sad to see it get canceled after the fourth season. I would have loved to have seen the Romulan War and actual founding of the Federation (and NOT the weak Holodeck simulation they had in the series finale...a big copout IMO).

Everyone has their favorite series, and for some it's Enterprise. It does not make sense to cater to those who like TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY and leave out ENT.

since we are getting the empire version uniforms, wonder if we get a ISS prefix or the hull pattern for the ships, would be very nice :D. One thing though, be great if we can make a 2 number registry :p

    (yeah im a enterprise fan :D )

I did not mean to leave out Enterprise, just that there were other things that could be done (like making adjustable ranks for the STII-VI uniforms) before focusing on an ENT pack.

Naming the ship Enterprise told me the series was going to suck from the start. It did not help when a lot of the episodes with trying to fix the time line. Gene Roddenberry put the TNG show so far in the future of the TOS because he wanted a fresh start. As for the pack I will not buy it. Might get Star Trek T'pol cloths set if it get offered solo otherwise no.

    ^ This.

I think TOS had a better series finale...and they didn't even have one. Bringing back Riker and Troi (which, ok, sure, I like Riker) was a major foul. And killing Trip off, too. I still don't fully understand how that convinced Riker to tell Picard the truth about the Pegasus.

Well i would say Enterprise was bad planed but well executet. There was no reason for things like... well calling the Ship Enterprise... Voyager didnt suck because of the ships name.

And I would blame Scott Bakula for the low ratings.... i HATET almost every second of his prefomence and the way Archer was written (and I dont know why they focused the most storys on the worst character).

But beside that i enjoyed Enterprise as much as TNG or DS9, definitly more then Voyager.

And for the continuity.... that was eeven more carefuly watched then in other shows before.
I mean it seams like a rotten compromise to show Borg and Ferengie althogh we know the first contacts were much later and "excusing" that with just not naming them "Borg" or "Ferengie", but that gave us at last nice episodes.
And I ashure you for every canon failure of Ent i'll show you 2 in Voyager or Ds9.

I wouldn't blame the actor. He was doing the best he could with a character that the writers were trying to make a mishmash of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, and Janeway. Their wrting came off as schizophrenic, except that schizophrenics have more consistency. As far as the stories, the writers were often trying to rehash an older episode, and failed miserably.

Checking for continutiy was poor at best. That is part of why the ratings with the old guard Star Trek Fans crashed. Gene Rodenberry specifically set TNG 80 years later to avoid continuity issues. DS9 and TNG worked because they were produced and released simulatnously, and each episode aired was during the same timeframe. Voyager also worked because they were out of contact on the far side of the galaxy, and the Federation was never there (except for the brief period in "The Price") It is easier to write as story set after than try to do a prequel.

When Enterprise entered it's second Season, our town lost it's only UPN affiliate. Not having cable, I was never able to follow the series. At the time, it was my favourite of all the series since the Original. In the years since, I've caught episodes here and there, and I think it's likely that Enterprise will be the first of the Trek series(es?) that I will own on DVD/BluRay.

I loved the ship, the fragility of things, the "seat of our pants" nature of the show. I loved Phlox, and Malcolm.. and yes I loved Archer too. I loved the green slave women, the fist fights and shootouts, the torn shirts, the space suits....

I'm looking forward to the enterprise pack.. and even though they're planning to release the NX Enterprise as a tier zero ship.. I'll no doubt pick it up just for kicks. Though I'm hoping we'll see an "Admiral" level version in the future as well.. because I'd like to fly something like that.

I'll still hold out for my Ambassador Class.. but until that comes, I'll take the NX Enterprise.. and have fun playing with the uniforms too.

unis are ok, TOS mirror unis are better in my mind so wont be wanting the ENT ones. the ship is only teir 1 so is a waste of points unless you realy love the design, which i dont really. but i dont think ENT deserves less of a see in than other serises, this is the first ENT content we've see.

For me the Enterprise pack is perfect for some UGC content and for Peace Keeper uniforms. More militaristic and perfect with a bit of mix and mash

Roll it out as a "flagship" for your fleet or tactical group much like the old sailing ship used by the U.S. Navy today .... a ship that shows the flag and that's about it.

Ie ... the glorified captain's yacht to be rolled out when you are simply moving about for crafting or other non-combat missions.

Tell that to George Lucas. Enterprise is leaps and bounds better as a prequel than the horrendous mockery of the Star Wars prequels. I can sum it up in three words: Jar-Jar Binks.

Most of the time c store items come out on Thursdays but the klingon ships were released on friday and the 7 of 9 costume that was released before came out on the wednesday, so its anyones guess really. They also dont tend to release them till bout midday anyways.

It's nice to know that we will see something between today and the 20th but the suspense is killing all the c-store points I had saved up for this xD I wish they'd just say "realeased on the 20th" so I don't get my hopes up in future
