Will the 7 of Nine Outfit be an Off-Duty Uniform?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Unfortunately, I bet it will be.

We get only one off-duty outfit, no matter how many extra costume slots we buy in the C-Store. Any new costume slots are always on-duty slots.

So I cannot easily change from formal wear to mercenary outfits to any robes or such, since they all share the same off-duty costume slot. I have to go to the tailor every time, and I have to personally remember every small detail of one off-duty outfit if I want to change back to that after wearing a different outfit.

Now, the character 7 of 9 wore her "catsuit" unfiorm while on duty in the TV series Voyager. Therefore, if Cryptic were to stick with canon, the forthcoming 7 of 9 outfit in the C-Store this month should be an on-duty costume.

Same goes with the Tpol uniform which may also become available in the C-Store.

However, as mentioned, many of these newly introduced unforms all seem to be off-duy unforms, even the mercenary uniforms, which doesn't make much sense since being a mercenary is a profession, so the garb would be "on-duty" for them, as it were.

But I fear that the 7 of 9 outfit will also be an off-duty costume, so I may not buy it, since it will be yet another hassle to change at the tailor from other off-duty costumes.

I simply ask Cryptic: please confirm that the 7 of 9 costume will be an ON-DUTY costume, or otherwise, change it to be one.

Alternatively, please Cryptic, provide multiple off-duty costume slots, for free preferably, or through the C-Store. Thank you.

i agree totally. the whole costume system needs some fixing. and if an outfit was worn on the show as an on duty, it shouldnt be off duty in game.

I think that they should just do away with the whole on/off duty concept and make everything uniform (:p). Especially when people are complaining about the purchasable slots not letting you choose.

    I completely agree with this.

I'd also like the ability to wear "uniform skirts" with some of the off-duty looks.

I agree, though maybe they should do it like the Off-Duty uniforms. There are sets that cannot be interchanged. There, problem solved.

FYI: there's a workaround to make any empty or new slots "off duty"

When you create a "new" outfit, "purchase" it but don't exit the interface. Click "modify" and you can change them to off duty.

*it won't work if you modify an existing outfit )

I do agree they need to re-work the uniform system. Simply do away with the seperate catagories.

I WANT MY MERC SUIT ON MY AWAYTEAM !!!!

    ;)

I hope it becomes a higher priority issue soon.

I'd hope that the T'Pol and 7 of 9 outfits are on-duty as well. But what we seriously need is the ability to choose if an extra slot we've purchased is on or off duty.

As for the OP having to remember every little detail of an off-duty outfit, you can Save the outfit and Load it the next time you visit the tailor. You still have to go through the tailor to change outfits but at least you wont have to waste time trying to wrack your brain to get the details right every time you do it (though I've found the Save / Load system for outfits to be a bit buggy).

The ideal sitution would be that you can mix and match from all costumes. (e.g. Ammo bandoliers on a WoK uniform.)
Failing that, there should be a toggle on each slot to make it On or Off Duty.

And Save / Load needs to be for clothing only...currently it messes up physical appearance.

that would be most awesome. I too would love to see the mix and match be the case... which would mean that the on/off duty thing is also removed. which is also awesome.

in a related side-note, I'd love to see purchased species pieces show up in Alien customization.

I am pleasantly surprised, and I am glad that my pessimism was wrong.

The Seven of Nine outfit is now in the C-Store, and it goes in an ON-DUTY costume slot.

Warning: I cannot modify my off-duty outfit since it changes back to an on-duty uniform. I suspect it is because I bought the Seven of Nine costume, so now all slots are again on-duty uniform slots except the single off-duty uniform.

So, I dare not buy any new costumes from the C-Store - it'll TRIBBLE up my previous costume slots.

    Costume me sad:

    :(

nope, sounds like you tried to edit that costume. Editing an off duty outfit like that will break it. I purchased the 7 of 9 suit, and my off duties are still fine.

well, now as it seems the implants and such from this uniform can't be used on off-duty, I suggest everyone not liking this asks for a change regarding it from Cryptic

Is it just me or do the boots look really awkward? It somehow feels as if the feet are waaay too small for the average body size, in result making the boot appear weird.

It's not just you, I was saying the same thing to some guys in my fleet.

It looks like my Captain is crippling her feet, trying to wear shoes a couple of sizes too small for her.

But I still love the outfit :D
