Kruge's robe is a standard robe that any Klingon Captain wears. The majority of Klingon ship captains in TNG are seen to be wearing them, including Worf when he pretends to be Captain of the Enterprise.

A similar or identical robe *IS* worn by council members, and is even worn by Picard during his functions within the High Council, though there may be differences in the emblems which denote a different function.

Worf wears another version of this during his wedding ritual.

All of these robes seem to generaly get referred too as "honour robes" which makes it a little confusing as to whether there is much difference and when they should be worn.

Either way, these robes aren't actually in-game. The coats NPC's wear are very similar, but not quite the same.

I really hope that this does look something like the honour robe and that it doesn't just look like a superman cloak as others have said.

In the words of Spock, "....fascinating"....
I do hope that this cape turns out to be like or to a point what we have seen in the movies or shows, and such...If they try to put some superhero cape on us...I will actually cry tears of blood....(yes Klinks cry..it is possible...just stand on Qo'Nos when a klink lets one loose...and you plenty of tears...lol) and grab my torch and pitchfork.

I'm hoping this extends to exchange officers so I can promote my space lizard with a cape to command a Federation ship. Just let him have a more appropriate combadge. :-)
Sure, as soon as Federation clothes become available on KDF-side, too. We could use some more options. :P

Ha! Ain't that the truth. I am really worried what we are going to get is far more like a cape and not something that speaks to iconic Klingon outfits.

Maybe they can give us the cleavage jacket they are working on for the Feds, since it does not appear we are going to get any of the long standing canon examples of Klingon cleavage accentuation clothing.

Really? I have never used a single cryptic designed ship or uniform when there has been a choice (obviously before the T5 Intrepid there was no choice for science ships). It really gets me angry every time they add a new design of their own, rather than all the great designs we have seen in the series (all the TNG era Admirals uniforms were really good, as was the newer TNG movies version that Ross wore).

I don't know anything about the stages involved in designing a new uniform and getting it in game, but surely it must be quicker/easier to make one that existed in canon than design one from scratch?

Well, I have to disagree with you -- obviously, this is all our own opinions -- but I rather liked the vet's jacket. (Contrawise, I disliked the admiral's jacket.) I also found many if not most of the Cryptic ship designs to be really good. (The exceptions being the Cerberus/Maelstron class escorts, and all of the star cruisers except for the Nomad class; Nomad, to me, redeemed that entire type of ship.) I was also quite fond of the DSSV. Also, any ship done or re-done by CapnLogan seems to be more awesome automatically. =)

Again, though, art assets are a serious subjective topic; some folks like them, some hate them, and I may disagree insofar that I like them, you're absolutely allowed to dislike them yourself. My liking them has no especial attribute. =)

I'd like a busty jacket for my #$%^^@ orion slave girl...lol. I also hope not for their sake that they make it into a frakkin superhero cape. We want iconic costumes (especially on KDF side), why else do you think we demanded Orion bikinis?...lol

Indeed, I find it ... ironic that the highly organized and civilized Starfleet has a much greater variety and more TRIBBLE clothing than the Space Vikings. :P

Here's my take on the "cloak with shouldpads" vet item. If we get something like a superhero cape that absolutely does NOT reflect Klingon culture, I'll demand a blood oath on Cryptic. If we get something cool and looks pretty close to canon, then I'll happily toss it on.

Still, I'd rather have the dahar master jacket, but as long as it's cool looking and Klingon in nature I won't grab my pitchfork and torch.

Speak for your self. As I said I love the cryptic design and I know for a fact quite a few of my ingame friends and fleetmates have at least 1 Cryptic design they are in love w/. To each their own though, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I'm positive that it will be the same w/ this jacket. There will be those that hate it and those that love it, there's no way around it.

Cryptic should be used to it - they said it best "We make good games that aren't great but could be better" Wonder if this is why Bill is no longer with them, but then again it could of been worse. He could of said “It’s Better to Rule in mediocracy then live in the shadows of those that make great games." We understand, show us where Blizzard touched you. Buckle up Cryptic, Bioware and Arenanet are going to do the same but don’t worry too much I will always be here to remind you.

    :)

Heck...I may even change my avatar one the new ships arrive....but then again the Vor'Cha is....how do we say " MEH"

Indeed. I fell in love with the star cruiser design almost right away. I've never given up mine, yet...although the T5 Excelsior is tempting to try out.

No doubt about it. Some people always hate one thing while others think it's better than sliced bread. I'm going to withhold my judgment until after I see what it looks like. It might actually look good.

Well, you know as well as I do that the fed jacket isn't that cool looking...and as well, they would not give us something as cool as what Kruge wears in ST3...I am keeping fingers crossed, but not getting my hopes up...Why won't the devs post a concept art or a screenie of what they are planning for the vet reward on the site? I would like to oogle it for a while...lol.

Sounds like they may be going an asymmetrical route and letting you steal some of the Federation ships.

Well, we already stole a Runabout once. I wonder what's it going to be next ...

Regardless, there's a difference between borrowing and keeping! :P

Gozer seems to imply that there will be some upcoming theft of Federation ships.

I kinda hope they get Klingonized or have the option to be Klingonized, with optional Klingon mods and green hulls, just like I'd like to see exchange BOs get the option of Starfleet uniforms or at least combadges.

In a thread about PvE mission ideas, asking what people would do with such a ship would they get it - so that kinda implies what he's about to do. ;)

I do not want to see Starfleet things on the Klingon side, just as I do not want to see Klingon stuff in Starfleet. Why would you want to make every faction look the same? We could just as well just merge the KDF and Starfleet into a single faction if that's what people want. Would at least give us some more clothing options and PvE content. Who wants diversity and exciting conflict, anyways.

I'd give something if the factions look a little more like they do in the canon ...

personally as far as canon ships go, Im in the minority who is really annoyed that Vice Admirals have to choose from tech thats at best decades old and at worst centuries.

I wont fly the Excelsior or the Galaxy-R nor will I be caught dead in that A-Wing wannabe Defiant.

I want them to keep adding new designs but well designed ones that keep the spirit of Trek alive in their designs, So far most of the cryptic designs are good for one ting, Parts though I do like some of the combinations of Star Cruisers I have seen, I know its very unpopular but I like the diversity it adds to the ranks

Example I fly a T5 cruiser but I aded bits of the Imperial class (not that TRIBBLE saucer section) namely the hull and the neck to the canon bits and it looks pretty nice, Star Trek but more along the lines of a Federation at war.

As for the Klingon ships I wish there were a lot more "parts" to choose from and definatley more cross species exchanges of clothing, could make some very fun uniforms with bits and peices of all the races

That would make it very very very nice to play a Klingon toon...I mean a veteran reward for 200 days and it being Kruge's robe?...that would be great...It'd shut me up for a while about a costume...lol...well, provided it doesnt clip to heck with body types and oter uniforms, but something tells me that they won't bother to try and check it on all costumes and body types before launch. If they get it right the first time, I'll eat my shorts...lol.

I don't play any Klingons, but the idea of a special jacket sounds great; I'm jealous.

You're also a month out of date.

There is no jacket presently coming to the KDF faction. We're instead getting a 200-day vet reward shoulder pad. No jacket.

At some point in the future when a KDF player reaches a new veteran level (400 day?) the shoulder pads gains a cloak. We've yet to see how that looks.

Fed characters, however, already have a unique 200-day vet jacket. So by not playing a Klingon you actually do get a special jacket - unlike those of us playing KDF - so it still remains we who are jealous.

Ah yes, I remember that special veteran's uniform... it was ok I guess. You get new shoulder pads instead? That doesn't sound bad to me.

It's not that bad, you still get a veteran jacket for your fed character
