The request for "swimwear " has been made several times. There are a few of us that think it's a lil odd to beam down to Risa wearing an uniform, a formal off duty outfit, a long robe or a sweater. I'm not a RPer per se BUT when socializing I do like to dress for the occasion. For fleet events I break out the fleet uni, for parties in lounges I put on the casual or formal off duty outfits BUT when my friends decide to hang at Risa there is simply nothing to wear that goes w/ the mood of the place. We all look like Worf and the New Essentialists did in "Let He Who Is Without Sin..."
Someday they will add holiday events and they would be nice to use at that time. There is long list of stuff I would want frist like Kirks season 2 green shirt.
love to see a swimsuit outfit for off duty women in bikinis and men in speedos/shirtless so can show off the detail of ones character
This idea has been around for a while. The swimsuits wouldn't even have to be all that scandalous ... nothing worse than Dax had on Risa : link
It's been pretty popular. Not sure why it hasn't been enacted except that some people worry about cannon-breaking activities like bands of bikini-babes roaming the galaxy. However, you'd think that could be avoided by restricting which instances they can be used or (my favorites) making swimwear a form of "armor" or "shields" so they're discouraged outside of RP areas because you have to give up useful functionality if you want to wear them.
I would like to see the 17th and 18th Century Sailing Outfits seen in Star Trek Generations. For variation, the uniforms can have American, British, French, Spanish, Portugese, Chinese, Korean, and the like subtypes to spice things up. I would also like to see the 24-25th century uniforms from "All Good Things..." "Visionary" and "Endgame".
Unless they can make them circumstantial (e.g only on Risa, your ship interior, etc.), I don't see this happening because I'm pretty sure CBS (rights-holders on the Star Trek property) and by extension Cryptic (who has to run things by CBS) don't want an ESD full of half-naked toons doing jumping jacks or pantomiming lewd acts.
"But KDF gets scantily-clad Orions!" you rebut. Yes, but that has basis in canon. Outside of a few "fan service" episodes, swimwear was rarely seen in the shows.
That said, I would love to have the option ("speedos"/trunks are unlikely but maybe those board shorts the guys are wearing on Risa, and some barefoot or sandal options).

True ... I can see wearing swim gear on Risa, your own ship, or even mission maps but not space docks (ESD, K7, DS9... etc).
I like the idea of making them an item that goes in the "armor" slot.
- One because you have to give up something useful to get it.
- Secondly (and more importantly) they can be hidden or shown easily. What little programming experience I've had suggests to me that taking armor's hide / show script and making it conditional depending on your map would be far easier than doing something like that with an actual uniform. And therefore more likely to get implemented.
Yeah, this franchise had Jeri Ryan and Jolene Blalock in catsuits and showing skin on primetime, bikinis and thongs shouldn't be a problem to normal people playing. Only the repressed would have any issues.:D

I would have to disagree w/ this. In the 25th century there are these things called "holodecks" where people go to relax. These "holodecks" are located in almost every ship and station and people can simulate any number of environments, including beaches. When going into these "holodecks" people often will choose to dress appropriately for the program they intend to run.
We saw several episodes in TNG where the crew walked around the ship in costume because they were either coming or going to or from a holodeck. In DS9 who can forget Jadzia and Kira meeting Worf for the first time in medieval costumes. In VOY the crew was often seen walking in and out of the holodeck in swim suits when going to the resort program.
If your argument is from a "RPer's" POV then RP that the people you see in swim suits are simply coming or going to or from a holodeck.
BTW, several people made similar claims of "lewd acts" being performed if Caitians were permitted in game. I recall one particular argument where the poster claimed that there would be cat women pole dancing all over the stations and to date I have yet to see one.
I HAVE seen several people get "creative" w/ the sleeping, lounge and push up emotes though, so clearly "lewd acts" can be performed by anyone wearing anything.

Ditto. We've moved beyond being prudes, yes?
