Famale Breen.

Kind of an odd idea that I thought of recently but something that thought of. I have a tredition of making all my Bridge Officers female and so far all of them are except for Bob which is the Breen I got from doing all the cold missions. So would it be at all possible to either Customize our current Breen and/or buying a Breen off of C-Store of Either choice of gender?

    who says breen have gender? who said that breen is a male if they do have gender? its wearing a space suit that it cant take off because it needs tempuratures that would freeze you to death instantly to keep itself alive. unless you are staring directly into its genitles somehow i dont see how you can claim to know what gender it is. give it a girly name and get over it! if you want the entire crew to have TRIBBLE and baby maker hips then dont use the breen.

    Fact is, that the Breen just like the Gorn and Nausicaans is male according to his stats. I don't care how Breen procreate, but if a species has distinct males there should also be females.

    => Cryptic should add a "genderless" option.:D

    Well I agree that a species with males would have females but that doesn't mean that the species in question has sexual dimorphism. There are many species on Earth where you cannot tell by visual clues what sex the individual is.

    meh how will you tell the difference? when kira wore one you couldnt really tell any difference between her and dukat.

    No, only the Medusans do that.

    I think the Breen boil away at room temperature, which is why so little is known about their physiology. ;-)

    I remember an episode of ENTERPRISE where there was a race with three genders.

    Perhaps the Breen are not as big on gender equality as some other races and the females are simply not allowed to go off planet, let alone serve on star ships.

    The show never really went into much about Breen reproductive processes, except for mentioning that they can reproduce at a very young age.

    The Aliens RPG sourcebook on the other hand says that there are male and female Breen, granted of course, this is not a canon source of information.

    Personally, I think that If there were female Breen, they would be indistinguishable from the males, at least when wearing their suits.

    That's my two cents on the matter.

    The above mentioned sourcebook happens to support your thinking :)

    Said sourcebook also states that the Breen are ammonia-based, have purple, blue-veined skin and multi-chambered, gelatin filled internals instead of featuring (most) major organs common to most humanoids.

    Not particularly relevant to the topic, but it's an interesting theory on Breen physiology :p

    it was stated by Wayon from DS9 that the Breen homeworld is not a frozen tundra but rather moderate climate and that they wear the "Cold Suits" for an unknown reason. Maybe the STO team can come up with something interesting.

    Yeah, but look how that turned out, after that she had to wear that lovely Bikini. Hmm, maybe that's why the OP wants a female Breen? He thinks Leia is inside and he has a chain with her name on it! :eek:

    Also, Kira went undercover in a Breen suit, and as I recall didn't look very different from any other Breen.

    I have no problem with there being a female Breen, though right now I don't see it as a high priority issue.

    I'll pass for a Breen in a miniskirt, thank you very much. Somehow I doubt any of us would like to see that.

    That was just Weyoun speculating. Vorta are devious, sneaky, coniving, and duplitious. He likely believed that since the Breen act in a similar fasion, that they were probably lying, just like he would do. As for Female Breen, a simple solution would be to have their heights about a foot shorter, change the gender designation, and no one is the wiser.

    My Breen officer is most definitely a female. Suit just hides the curves. It's a shame I can't even change the color of the suit to match the rest of my crew. Makes her stick out even more than she does already.
